I not only love…read morethe name of this unique home goods shop, but I love that it's in the quaint community of Ashland and that it stocks inventory from local craftspeople. The wooden farm tables, cutting boards, lazy Susans, rolling pins, utensils, wine racks and shelves are masterfully crafted and designed. They carry an array of hand painted glass and pottery as well as kitchenware. You may spot a handmade toy, homemade totes, kitchen towels, bag holders, or some hand knitted accessories. Also found on the shelves of this cute shop are coffee and tea related items, even coffee soap! You'll find beautiful seasonal decorations like wreaths and ornaments as well as baskets and tins. They stock a nice choice of lamps, chairs, accent pieces, vases, centerpieces and table scapes. You may discover the perfect piece of artwork for your home, or that special piece of jewelry that speaks to you! TOTH is known too, for their custom painted furniture, if you have an item that needs a facelift, or would just like to add a pop of color to your home, they can help! Have you heard of Chalk Paint by Annie Sloan? Well, their collection of paints is amazing! So many colors to brighten your world! They even hold classes for you DIY folks! AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE AND INVENTORY: Under (fairly) new ownership, Caravati's has only improved…read more Today I visited by appointment (to meet a construction deadline) and met with Jennifer who had pre-picked a box full of historic door hardware that perfectly matched the photos I'd texted. She also had pre-selected several vintage six-panel doors for my review. Once on site, the Caravati team made my problems and challenges their own, finding a perfect pair industrial nickel-plated handles for my old oak icebox project and then eagerly volunteering to do some work to convert them from working levers to rigid pulls. Stocking vintage hardware and architectural pieces is one thing. Helping clients actually pull together the PERFECT sets of door hardware -- including glass knobs, backplates, mortise locks, catches, hinges, and screws is next level. When we were driving away, my daughter said to me (of Jennifer), "She was INSANELY helpful." She was! So was Lucas and the rest of the team. Thanks all!

Channel your inner Chip & Joanna and renovate with style! The warehouse is full of rows and rows of cabinet doors, screen doors, shutter doors, Indian doors, front doors, doors galore! The main showroom has decorative column capitals with Doric, Corinthian, and Ionic combination designs; ornamental brackets of wood, wrought iron, plaster and other architectural elements to creative unique accents in your home! Recently moved to Ashland, this vintage salvage shop is jammed packed with antique hardware, knobs, hinges, fixtures, newer and older décor, fireplace inserts, mantels, recovered windows, retro bathroom sinks, mirrors and fixtures, wood slabs for tables, quirky glassware, urns and planters, baskets and artisan pieces! My favorite item, which I purchased as a gift, is a handcrafted Bourbon/Whiskey smoker with a glass cloche! Brady custom makes these cool items and these smokers will add sophistication to your bar area! Your imagination will go wild in this fabulous store that's been an RVA mainstay for decades!!

I am a veteran antique shopper. This place is a legend. A mall, which I like, as different…read morevendors usually specialize in different things, so there's usually something I can find. Antique Village is like any other antique mall, some deals, some overpriced stuff, and a lot of interesting things to look at. And, they are animal friendly! I brought Belle, my doberman in, like I usually do, and she sniffed out a great bargain for me. Something that, on ebay, was four times the $200 price I paid at Antique Village. There is a terrific paper vendor that has virtually everything, and a pottery lady, Miss Sylvia, who is now 93 years old and as sharp as a tack (ouch!) Her knowledge of the pottery arts is limitless. Great place, great items, the possibility of sniffing out a bargain, they loved my dobie and even gave her a treat. What more could you ask? Belle wants to go back. So do I.

Miles of antiques at this huge mall on Route 301. As an antique freak, I make this a must stop…read morewhenever I'm "junking" in the Mechanicsville area. I've found some cool treasures here, but you've got to look hard to find a bargain! Many of the vendors overprice their wares! There's several other antique shops on 301, and across Atlee on 360, so this would be a fun way to go "antiquing" and make a day of it!! You can really get lost in this space, mazes of booths and aisles of stalls full of vintage pieces. You'll find hordes of glassware, china, dishes, bar ware, collectible plates, Toby mugs, Mason jars, milk glass, carnival glass, Fiestaware, and crystal! There are also various booths carrying brass, pewter, silver and other metal items. If you're a bibliophile, you've come to the right place... shelves and shelves of new, used and classic books, magazines, postcards and periodicals. Old vinyl records, 45's, and LP's can be found at several stalls. Vintage jewelry galore and a menagerie of figurines seem to arise at every corner! Tons more... allow plenty of time to browse. And keep your phone ha day to check prices in comparison to eBay. I found this incredible mug with Shakespeare on it that I was dying to have... I checked on the web and found it for 1/2 of what they were selling it for. Check out is easy and organized, most of the sellers don't haggle much, they have standard percentages off they offer at the counter (if you ask) but oftentimes I've been told they can't come down of the price. With so many vendors, I can see why it would be hard to try to contact everyone for discounts. Many items are marked "firm". I thus firmly believe this to be an middle of the road antique shop, but worth a gander!
