It's worth the drive, when you see his sign, you must follow the 1/2 mile stone driveway all the way to the back. Mr Raeford's is very entertaining and kind. No prices on anything, he's a bit old fashioned and you need to throw out a number less than you are willing to pay. I like the Treasure Shoppe. Although it carries some of the expected things, they're so reasonably priced I felt like I was stealing them when I got the total at the register. There's a little bit of everything here and it's all mixed together so I had no choice but to take time looking at everything. Treasure Shoppe has quite a few handmade goods from locals: jewelry, soaps, and miscellaneous decorative items. I wish I knew how people came up with these simple, yet creative ideas. When I saw the handmade knit shawls (and hats), I nearly bought everything they had -- the price was so incredibly low, there's no way the person who knit those is making a profit. They weren't made of the lightweight yarn using large knitting needles either, it was the heavyweight yarn, made with smaller needles that create a garment meant for warmth, not frills. The ladies that work here are incredibly friendly, chatty, and sweet -- everything you'd expect. Except for the guilty feeling I had for walking out with some cute things for a bargain price, I had fun exploring and look forward to doing so again.

My mom loved…read moreantiques and she needed to use the bathroom....we stopped in and while she was inside I decided to walking around and stumbled across these Statue of what is depicted as 'Black Sambo' and it's literally put me into a place of complete shock and disappointment....I've seen pictures of things like this...I've read stories about these types of statues and how black people were viewed but never in my life would I have thought I would ever see anything like this is 2018 live and in living color. My children were literally scared to look at them and It was sad that I had to explain to them at such an early age about what the poor mindset of people in America had and maybe even still have towards how other cultures are viewed.

In talking with the owner, we learned he was a Corvette enthusiast, and our C3 was the first one to stop since he'd been in business. Now, I have a soft spot for antique clocks and I had to convince myself I did not need any mantle clocks. I mean, I REALLY had to convince myself because they were priced right and they looked very nice. Everything in the store appeared to be in very good condition, and again, in talking with the owner, we learned he doesn't buy anything for the store unless it is in good condition. If you're looking to shop local, this might be a good little place to check out - just keep in mind, nothing here is brand new.

Boy was I surprised. The outside looks small, but was quite surprised when I entered. I was warmly greeted by the owner, and inside was immaculately clean (not a speck of dust in sight). Everything was beautifully staged and displayed. All the wood furniture was polished to a shine with absolutely no sign of age, cracks or disrepair. They had several beautiful furniture pieces of dining room tables w/ chairs, along with other beautiful wood pieces like buffets, tables, corner pieces etc. They also had several glassware, metal, silver table items, dish sets, glasses, trays, platters, clocks, print picture frames, lamps and just so much to look at. Everything was well placed/situated and very clean which is not the norm for most antique shops. Exceptional quality of the items and reasonably priced at that. Definitely should take a look to see for yourself. Well worth the visit.
