I have been dealing with Associate Broker Karen Mulrooney of Remax Marketing Specialists since late July 2015. I have recently relocated to the area and Karen had listed a few homes I was interested in seeing. Unbelievably, it is now August 24th, and due to a complete lack of service, effort or anything resembling client service, I have seen a total of 0 homes listed with her or this Remax office- though not for lack of trying. I had to request info through 3 websites before she bothered to respond. Then, the home I most wished to see could only be seen Mon, Wed or Friday between the hours of 5:30 and 7PM, but not that day, which oddly, was a Monday. She never seemed to be available during any of the times I tried to see the place. I even called her cell direct- you guessed it, no response- again, on a Monday. I finally sent her an email after "I'm busy" number three from her. She responded, not with,"how can we make it right", but with an unprofessional response on how she had not heard anything from me, basically calling me, the client, a liar.
Having been a successful Broker for many years in the past, in another state, I was in disbelief. How could a Remax franchised office treat a potential buyer so poorly? Do they not understand that this is the reason that Real Estate Brokers are perceived as sketchy, and untrustworthy? That renters will become buyers? That Owners and clients listing homes expect performance? That clients treated badly will tell others, loudly? Evidently not.
Having had enough, I called her Qualifying Broker, Jim. You guessed right again, no call back. Instead, I got another email from the Associate saying that she spoke to the Qualifying Broker and he could not be bothered to call me back to hear what I had to say.
What I can say, is that I will tell others. I will not lease or buy a home listed with this Associate or this office. Perhaps you may want to do the same. read more
