By far the best real estate agent you can find! Highly recommend using Miriam as your agent!…read more As first time home buyers, we were clueless but Miriam made sure we understood everything that was going on, made us aware of everything we needed to do and made sure all of our ducks were in order. Miriam helped my wife and I find our first home during this crazy market. She was always willing to help and available when we needed, despite her busy schedule. She went way above and beyond. It took about 4 months for us to get an offer accepted but to absolutely no fault of her own. We were getting outbid left and right. We put in offers on more homes than I can remember and it really wears on you when your offer is not accepted. My wife and I were pretty defeated after each failed bid, but Miriam was positive and optimistic the right one would come around. Miriam was very knowledgeable of all the towns we were looking at in Bergen County. She was very helpful in going to open houses , looking up property values, history, communicating with the sellers/agents, and anything else you would need to know in buying a home. She also kept us level headed and made sure we didn't go way overboard in our offers based on comps of other homes that sold in the neighborhood. She kept us sane during the whole process and was very reassuring. After our offer was accepted on the home we purchased, she walked us through the entire process from start to finish. As first time home buyers, we didn't know which way was up. Thanks to Miriam, she was able to steer us in the right direction and was with us every step of the way. Even after we closed, she still responds to our questions and gives us recommendations on everything we need. She even checks up on us to see how things are going and to see if there's anything else we need or have questions about. Again, this is AFTER we already closed. Miriam is also great with kids. Our 2.5 y/o son absolutely adores her. He would always get so excited to go to showings and open houses if we told him that Miriam was going to be there. We will definitely be using Miriam when we're looking to sell our house and buy our next home. SHE IS THE BEST. If you're looking to rent, buy, or sell, look no further. She does it all. She will do her absolute best to help you find what you're looking for.

The person I spoke with was super professional, straight speaking but kind, and took her time with me. Her advice however was really discouraging and quite absolute - I was so depressed after getting off the phone with her- she suggested that I might look for a room for him to rent somewhere because with a budget of $2,000 and low credit on his part; that no one would really want to work with that profile or mine as an out of state guarantor. Merely 12 days later, he is now set up with a lovely studio in a nice building, one block from the train in Sunnyside for $2,100. Very mediocre unenthused service. While I bought with broker Joe B. here years ago with high…read moresatisfaction, I can't say the same of broker Peter H. who gave very very diffident, obviously dismissive service regarding merely submitting an offer. I viewed the property last Sunday and have come to expect such viewing brokers to know nothing about the property which I quickly confirmed by asking about the property condition about which he knew not. It's my customary smoke/litmus test of their knowledge of the property and thus whether they care thus whether they're trustworthy and whether I should trim costs to account for non-trustworthy sales pitches. A mere day later, I called asking for the offer submission method as every broker and their attached office is a bit different about paperwork. I could totally sense he was so totally dismissive as he said that $720k was too low. He said he'd verbally edited it to the stated max of $740k if he ever presented the offer to the seller even though my form wouldn't reflect such a number. I later that day submitted an offer via his emailed JotForm, an online PDF filling service. I called to say I'd done so and to ask whether to expect a response. He said he'd present the offers thusfar that day and so later that evening he'd tell me how to proceed with other offers I'd put on hold for this one. He said nothing that evening, as expected as his word isn't credible, so the next day I called to be sure and he said oh yes of course he didn't really do anything but to expect a no. What kind of a lazy broker says that? To be yet more sure, I quickly edited the JotForm to rescind the offer. I'll send the fixed 3% commissions to another selling broker as my best response.

I reached out and Erica responded right away, recommending lenders to speak with so that I would be set up with the right financial info to look seriously at units. Months later, I'm now writing this review from the apartment Erica helped me purchase. She's a Brooklyn native and has worked in real estate in NYC for years, and this was evident every step of the way. Just walking through neighborhoods near Prospect Park with her, she has friends everywhere, and she seems to have experience buying or selling homes on every block. She's deeply knowledgeable of the market and always had good advice during the process (on making offers, on steps to take before/after, on the scary home-buying process more generally). She has a professional and friendly rapport and stayed in constant contact with selling agents, always keeping me informed. She is also great at calming nerves and giving needed doses of pragmatism in such a wild real estate market. I'd recommend Erica without hesitation if you're thinking about buying (or renting) in NYC!
