The agent would only give us a 2 day due diligence knowing we were across the country. The house was also supposed to be furnished, not even close. The seller left some thrift store junk and the house so was so filthy, garbage cans in the garage filled with rotting trash. So many lies the agent told us even said when asked why the seller was selling, he said "his wife died", another lie. Found out the seller had harassed neighbors; he is banned from the community. I tried calling the agent, never returned my call so I called the Broker at this office, he was nasty & very defensive, so I immediately knew the whole thing was bad. I'm not a golfer but that never matter as the community gets 5 stars for all kinds of things to do. This isn't The Villages so there is not AS much going on. But was fine as it is not a zoo like latter either. You still have absolutely enough activities and fun clubs in OTOW. We really enjoyed the music both within the community and just outside the gate by Chandler Hills. Library, ping pong and wood shop were just a few of our favorites. Excellent fitness centers! Pools can get a busy at times but that's to be expected. Timing! Now for 3 stars. High HOA. Most places go up over time but it was pushing here. That said, you still get lots for the money. Put it this way. I wouldn't let $100 keep me from staying here. Personal advise. Wherever you move, OTOW vs the Village or elsewhere, look for a home that doesn't back up to common road. We lived on street with no road behind us. That was a smart buy living wise. Probably made our house sell that much faster, too.

My mother and I rent @2061 S.E. 38th Street Ocala, fl. 34480. We started renting on October 1,2018. One month after we started renting we had a water problem. So every 30 days if you don't change the well filter and scrub the other filter on the pump you will literally have no water. There are 3 sets of sliding glass doors on this home. Every set the door handle had to be removed to put on the sliding door we use because the track is so damaged it's hard to open and close the door, so they all have broken. I had a leak under the sink in kitchen and contractor came out and had me clean up the sump under my counter because he didn't have his shop vac. I have 13 windows and can only open 2 because 1 won't open, and only 2 windows have screens. The lights in the ceiling in den by fireplace comes on and off. The electrical outlets in the house, too many of them don't work. The air conditioner constantly freezes up, so when you call them or put the work order in they come out and tell you because we aren't watching them that the line is clogged(which it isn't) and charge us a $100.00 every time. What it is, it really needs Freon. Now the big one.The house is 46 years old and the septic hasn't ever been pumped. So they had their unqualified contractor come out after telling them it's the septic and sends a plumber. He doesn't snake my house properly and breaks my toilet, tile, and scratches master bathroom tile floor. He calls out another associate for help, they leave 5 hours later and bill me for $595.86. YEAH an hour later it's backed-up again. Now at the office of Touch Stone Realty their answer was, get this " It's not our problem". So I called Modern Septic and Plumbing. When they came out and finally got the lid opened they were enraged. They told us this has NEVER been pumped. After 3 or 4 hours they left. We are back to cleaning up again. It backs up again. Now I call Mike Scott Plumbing and between opening up the septic again and snaking the house the proper way(from spare bathroom to Master bathroom) they finally got the pipes unclogged. Modern Septic and Mike Scott Plumbing I would recommend to anybody. They are both great companies and really great people. The clog was that bad. Now we have paid our rent every month and never ever missed a month since 10/1/2018. We took $576. off of our rent payment and sent it in for October. So now get this, they are EVICTING us or TRYING. I have all documentation. I have even went as far as code enforcement , which you have to email because we are in the county and that is handled through Tallahassee. So I have ordered a court hearing. Now get this, they had a hearing on 12/22/2021@ 8:30 a.m. and we never knew about it so that is why we are in eviction so to speak. So now I had to file a motion to stay and ask for another court hearing. Maybe I will get this one. So today again I'm going to pay $1300.00 to the courts and see what happens from there. I'm posting this because I would hate to ever see another individual go through what we have been through. So you ask why are we still in this house? Well they have $2,850.00 of our deposit. We are all law abiding citizens, very quiet, and respectful people. My mother is a care giver and I have been a manager all my life and we are both stunned and shocked about all this.
