Proceed with Caution When Renting Through This Property Management Company!!!!!!! If you're considering renting a home managed by RE/MAX Alliance - Virginia Beach, I strongly urge you to think twice. Our experience during move-out was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Despite following all the required steps outlined by their team--including hiring professional cleaners and handling all checklist items--we were surprised to learn that our full security deposit was withheld. We were also charged for items that were never disclosed as our financial responsibility, including brand new carpets that were apparently replaced at the owner's request. At no point were we informed that these upgrades would be at our expense. We paid a pet fee for our approved small dog, yet after resolving concerns early in the lease, we were later accused of violating pet terms--another unexpected and inaccurate justification for withholding our deposit. To make matters worse, we were notified after the fact that we not only wouldn't receive our deposit back but also owe additional money--with no prior discussion or transparency around these charges. In our view, this felt less like fair property management and more like opportunistic behavior. We've rented for many years and have never encountered such an unprofessional and opaque move-out process. It takes weeks; maybe months to get anything fixed. When you move out they will say you owe thousands for spackling a few picture holes and out right lie about having to remove furniture. The owner, I am sure doesn't even know how terrible the condition of the property The contractors they sent out to fix part of the condo ended up breaking our downstairs toilet . They never fixed anything with the issues we went to them with. Didn't have a working washer or dryer while there, they said we would have to buy one. Do not rent from the property managers they do not know what they are doing they do not repair anything, and they will do all they can to keep deposits. when you leave they require to keep utilities in your name and after the require 5days they continue to use the utilities in your name until the next tenant takes over. I rarely write reviews unless something is bad and relax alliance rental application is horrible. It takes over 45 mins to fill out an application and 2nd let's say hypothetically you don't qualify for a townhouse or house, you have start over and fill out all the information you just inputted. It's ridiculous. You would think it would automatically say welcome back and have your information ready to review. I guess that makes too much sense. On top of that, it's a $45 fee each time. Even after zillow will charge you $35 to fill out there application fee. So you do the math if you don't qualify. read more

I could write a book on how horrible it was doing business with the Dunbars and Jen Mclean from Remax. Here is a paraphrased version so no more good people will be put in difficult positions by this business. The apartment I rented from Dunbar property management was advertised as "non smoke" but after signing a lease I found out the bottom neighbor smokes like a chimney! The apartment filled up with smoke, literally a safety hazard and they would not let us move out! Instead they pinched us in staying. We had to keep our windows open all winter to try to mitigate the issue. The secondhand smoke was horrible. I found Nicotine stains on the carpet! WARNING if you smell smoke get a lawyer, they cannot force you to stay! During a national pandemic they would send people unannounced to the apartment. We would get knocks on the door saying that Steve Dunbar sent us to view the apartment. DURING A NATIONAL PANDEMIC! Moving out was a total headache and cost me $880 dollars! I got the apartment professionally cleaned, the carpet professionally cleaned, the chimney professionally cleaned, and the vents professionally cleaned. We followed all the move out guidelines and they still took $480 from my security deposit! They charged me $250 dollar to put a new screw in a storm door and a little scratch on the mesh of a sliding screen door! Then $180 to clean some crumbs behind a stove! Absolute robbery. They would send random emails to me asking if I wanted to buy a house. The funny thing is they would put the wrong name on the email! MY NAME IS NOT AUSTIN! I got an email saying they mailed what was left of my security deposit. Its been 7 days and I have not gotten it yet. How long does it take for mail to be sent out of Virginia Beach and then delivered in Virginia Beach? They have 45 days to get you back your security deposit it has been almost 50 days and I haven't received it yet. Moral of this story is these people do not care about YOU. All they want is your money! Here are some helpful tips to avoid getting screwed. Take pictures of everything. Literally everything! Do not ask, DEMAND when something is not right. Be firm and do not be scared to get a lawyer. Record phone calls or interactions with these people because they like to stretch the truth. Renters should know prior to renting that customer service is seriously lacking...and privilege must be a requirement to work there. I am a single mom who works full time and if you need reliability and kindness I would not recommend Remax or the Doll Team. We have had plumbing issues/active leaks that continue to cost money and time since the day we moved in. I was required to take time off work to be available for the plumber on at least 4 different occasions during our first month in this home. And now we have been here for 4 months and this is the third major flooding in the laundry room so the 6th time I am required to take off work so that the repairs can be estimated, and then again for them to be completed. Not only am I losing work hours to schedule these repairs, I have cleaned inches of standing water out of the laundry/storage room at least three times , lost my own items to water damage, and created loads of laundry cleaning these floods. How can this be reasonable for a home we pay $2000 to live in?  Property managers have lacked personal connection and empathy with the exception of Mona who has been amazing and kind. They don't seem to consider or acknowledge the impact that these issues have on the daily functioning in the home. We waited 4 weeks for an actively leaking toilet to be repaired-both times that the laundry room flooded, messages on the "emergency line" were not returned. After being late with my rent-first time I was text messaged multiple times (7 times) about when the payment would be submitted. Not one person tried to call, or communicate with me directly. Although I provided details of my expected payment-they continued to send text messages for two days-during work hours attempting to bully me into making 2 different certified check payments when I made it clear that was not possible. Felt a lot like harassment at that point, but really it was more like some sort of inappropriate power struggle with a property manager.   After requesting that they contact by via phone instead of text-by coincidence that night I called the emergency line with standing water in our laundry room. I left a detailed message, and called back after about 15 hours because I still had no call back and major plumbing issues. I was initially told "someone will call you later today"....later today.....we had major flooding in the laundry room and under the kitchen sink....onto the kitchen floor. I ended up having to beg/strongly advocate for them to contact a plumber-and now another waiting game of scheduling and approving repairs.  I am taking the time to write this review because I would have never expected this from Remax-I thought with their longevity that they would have great customer service. Never would I imagine I would rent a $2000 home, and be required to spend so much of my personal time making sure we have effective plumbing and running water, and cleaning up from damages that were previously done to this plumbing system. This was my third time working with buying and selling real state and they were by far the most honest, knowledgable, and definitely hard working people I ever worked with. I highly recommend!! I have never had a worse experience with someone who lies and gaslights people besides their managing broker Kathy Eckhardt who is by far the most shamelessly, unprofessional and disrespectful person I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. I have worked with several agents and property managers and these are not the people you should trust. The owner also likes to shirk their responsibility by not holding their employees accountable for unethical misleading practices which speaks to the type of business that they are running. Never trust any business like this who would teach their employees to gaslight and verbally attack clients who question them or require them to act and do their literal jobs. Their poor business practices, lack of professionalism and integrity are abhorrent. There are many other agencies that know how to ethically handle people and their homes without treating real estate and property management like a disgusting money grab with no regard to how they are actually treating the people they are doing business with. I truly hope the arrogance that is the lifeblood of this company gets a reality check soon, that places like this don't last forever once the word spreads. The absolute worst company I've ever rented from. You won't get any money back from your deposit; in fact, you'll even owe them money DESPITE using their mandatory cleaning companies. How am I going to pay someone to clean the carpets that they require, yet I find that they billed me for it a second time in my security deposit transmittal. What a scam. The women who came by to do an annual home inspection was unprofessional and completely REEKED of cigarette smoke and made my home smell like an ashtray. When I complained, they send there's nothing they could do. If you look at their Google reviews, you'll see them arguing with former tenants who leave low rankings. This company tried to charge me $1736.00 for fixing up a townhome that I had kept in almost pristine condition. I will take fault for the fact that I tried to repaint the walls due to having candles near the wall which caused smoke on the wall... I wanted to return the home in the condition I received it, so I tried painting over any scratches or nail holes that I chose to patch up. I tried to get Remax to tell me what color paint and where I can get it so that I could fix up the place before I moved out, and I never got an exact answer from them. They tried to charge me $180 to clean up because apparently dust is created from painting which is not true. They replaced the floors in the townhome and then decided to take pictures after they replaced the floors. They tried to charge me $2000 from an invoice which is not an actual bill. On the invoice in small print on the bottom it states that all labor and supplies is included in the estimate and then they tried to get me for $366 for paint from Home Depot. I had argued with them for weeks about how the negative deposit that I owed them is not correct and had to talk to Jackie about the paperwork that was sent to me because I should not be charged for paint which may I also add that they purchased 15 gallons of white paint which is enough to cover all the walls and that townhome four times. Finally they came to an answer and decided to take off $90 from the cleanup fee and takeoff the paint from the paperwork they sent me. If you want your deposit back i recommend not using these people. They are only here for the owner not the renter. They will dive deep into your pockets and try to get you for every penny. Make sure you over look your paper work and contact the higher ups in the company for questions. If anyone, Jackie was a huge help in getting things figured out. But even then, you will not get your deposit back and the staff is not up to par on communication. If I could give this place no stars I would. Horrible rental management team/company. The Aslett team is the worst I've experienced. Angelle is the most passive aggressive and rude person I have ever met. Blake never seems to know what's going on or who anyone is or how to get a hold of anyone. During the height of the pandemic they wanted to conduct a yearly inspection, vaccines weren't out yet and thousands of people were dying a day. We asked to postpone the inspection due to the pandemic and Blake stated " the Covid excuse isn't t going to fly anymore and people need to start paying their rent". This was stunning considering we were one of the privileged few that were able to pay rent on time throughout the pandemic so I can only imagine how they were treating other people. Blake and Angelle both came into our house without a mask on and Angelle sat on our stairs and had a 30 minute phone conversation in the middle of our walkthrough, just laughing and taking her time while we stood waiting because apparently only her time mattered. It was a nightmare. I worked with Christine Brody and I pretty much looked thru her listings for houses and she would show them to me. This was my first time purchasing a home so I thought it was normal. She did not advise me that a murder had been committed in my house one month prior to purchasing it. When I asked her about the murder her response was I never asked. I found out a month after closing only because the victim's family and news came to the front of my house to do a news broadcast about the details of the murder that had been commit in my new home. I would rate 0 stars if I could. I rented my house. It was in okay condition. If you do rent from them take pictures of everything because they will shaft you. I tried to get them to fix the holes in my fence for about 8 months. The garbage disposal took about 6 months for them to fix. My front door stoped opening for while and I called and that took around a month. My house had hella bugs and they didn't send an exterminator. But they did take care of the mice after three weeks. The AC didn't work. The house was a piece of shit and they will take all you're deposit back. I left my house in the same condition I received it. The worst company I have ever rented for. I'm in the Military, so I have rented apartments and houses before, even rented in Hampton Roads. Maybe it's just the individual realtors I dealt with, but if not, it is a big scam. Harsh words? Well this is coming from everyone else I have talked to that has dealt with this company before not just me. The same word keeps coming out, SCAM. First lets start with the move out process. I found a house to buy and wanted out of the lease early, so I asked what fees have to be paid and what needs to be done. Well the first thing that got to me is they will still charge a finder's fee even though you provide someone else to rent right away. So keep in mind, no money is lost during time periods. I moved out and literally someone moved in a day later. Second, is the ridiculous services you have to pay for to be done to the place, and the very limited companies if you want to call them that that you can pick from. Third, since they refer these people and you have to use them, you would think they would perform a excellent job for their services especially the premium that is charged. WRONG! For the premium prices I had to pay barely any work was done. I will never refer this company to any of my guys moving here. read more

This is the sorriest property management company you will find in the state of Virginia. It's not often that you find a person like Angie Zengilowski aged 76 that lies like an 8th grade child. Most elderly people walk the line because they're going to meet God soon. Her only good attribute is that her time is almost used up on this earth. She rented a house that had a huge sewage spill in the living room and heavy black mold contamination. We found this out from several realtors and the prior tenant who was hospitalized a week prior to Angie finally having her craigslist contractors replace the cabinets and moldy drywall, but did not inform us on what had happened. She did no mold remediation to the property (as required by law), there's standing water under the house. The carpets (not replaced) would belch up large bacterial growth from the raw sewage bacteria contained in the subflooring. Myself, my wife, the prior tenants have gotten sick living in one of her properties. She did no move out inspection and after 6 months filed a legal claim against us for $25K. It took 5 hours in court to argue over her creative BS. She didn't get it. She didn't sign the lease which gave us the right to leave the unfit dwelling after 12 months. She's an LLC so pursuing her in court will always be fruitless, but if you're her tenant you don't have LLC protections. That's the culture in Chesapeake. Harvest all money you can from a tenant that are leaving the relationship. You are crazy if you rent from her. If you don't believe me, believe the other 12 narratives posted herein. read more

I can't speak for the whole company but property manager Steve Dunbar is greedy and rude! I paid the $1400 fee to break my lease after 7 months as the rental did not work for my family. I paid rent ON time each month, kept the place clean, etc. I hired professional cleaners (condo, carpet & chimney sweep) as their recommended cleaners charge VERY unreasonable prices - what a coincidence, I kept utilities on til they found a renter, etc. I asked if I had to also pay for a dryer vent cleaning since it was done a few months prior by their own vendor. Steve said he'd look for the invoice and get back to me but never did. Their office admin asked me to reschedule the move out inspection twice but I agreed. I was to pay prorated rent for the last few days in the property (the 1st - 5th of Apr.). Between work & the moving process, I missed the inspection. I called them on the 6th to let them know I forgot to make payment but I could drop it off the next day. I texted Steve Dunbar and simply asked to please waive the late fee but he ignored me, I asked the admin, told me I'm responsible for the late fee. At this point, I was angry so I just waited for my security deposit in the mail. I got $500 back from my $1400 deposit! I knew about the admin fees, prorated rent of $240 and rekey fees but they charged me $140 late fee when The TENANT RIGHTS & RESPONSIBILITIES form clearly states "A LATE FEE CAN BE NO MORE THAN 10 PERCENT OF THE MONTHLY RENT, OR 10 PERCENT OF THE UNPAID BALANCE, WHICHEVER IS LESS". They also charged $250 to replace a transfer strip in a CLOSET, a "broken roller" on a door that was the same way when I moved in, and a window blind that I knew was NOT broken when I vacated. On top of all the above, they charged $85 for a dryer vent cleaning!!! When my husband called Steve about this, Steve said he didn't have time to argue about it and hung up. Never want to fix anything and when they do send someone out it's some guy who looks homeless never has parts so once he gets here says he has to go to Home Depot then comes back 3 hours later and does a horrible job! I've started fixing things myself. After living here 7 months and paying my water bill directly to the water company they called and said I was doing it wrong?! Hunh? It's being paid dummies!! My name is Rhiannon and my family and I applied for 13 Sharon Bass Drive in Hampton, VA. We applied on April 5th and were approved on April 7th we we're told by AJ Williamson that we we're approved knowing we had a dog and the realtor listed the property as pet friendly. We dropped off our certified check on the 8th of April in the office on Columbus St in Virginia Beach we spoke to a Katrina there who was not very pleasant at all. We dropped the check off and left. Three days later they told us the owner didn't want any dogs on their property. So why list it saying it's pet friendly? When we went to get our certified check back and ask for our application fees be reimbursed we got the run around from Katrina that she couldn't speak on behalf of the broker. I will never work with anyone from Remax because of this experience. Someone else will get my business. Don't list a property if it's really not pet friendly that is very misleading and waste of people's time and money. read more

Opportunists. My family and I have been good tenants of theirs for 3.5 years. Keep to ourselves, never late or missed rent. We were forced to move out because the house was being foreclosed. Shortly after we moved in, the washer and dryer kept breaking. We didn't have a working washer and dryer for about 5 months before we just decided to buy our own. Very slow and lazy to respond to maintenance orders. Irritating, very expensive and inconvenient. They sent over contractors to fix a hole in our ceiling we took responsibility for. The estimate was $2400. Steve tried to tell us we had no choice but to use these guys and threatened us with a 2 day deadline to give ReMax the money. (Huh?) If I'm paying out of pocket with my own money, I'm going to shop around. Got a second opinion and a guy I found on my own that did it for $700. Paid this guy directly for a job well done. That was that. It took them 1 week of phone calls and emails to respond and deal with a squirrel that fell in our chimney and died, causing flies to hatch and swarm into our house from the carcass. The second time it happened, it was "not their problem." The chimney guy would not come out to remove it. He told us to let it sit there, the smell will clear out in about 2 weeks. (I can't make this stuff up!) Security system that came with the house broke. Again, "not their problem." Security systems are a "luxury item?" In Virginia Beach nowadays they're a necessity. But okay, whatever. Not going to argue. Now the last straw was keeping our entire security deposit to replace carpets in the house (which is being foreclosed and going to the bank, don't forget!). We dotted our I's and crossed our T's for the move out. Paid professional carpet cleaners, maid, etc and provided receipts. The carpet was used when we moved in. Yet, there goes over $1000 of our money toward carpets for a foreclosed house. Just cuz they feel like it. Pathetic. Steve and Jackie Dunbar's reputation is marred, going by these other reviews and many other reviews on the internet. It's not surprising. When we broke the early term contract the fees were over $4k, they discriminate because we are not in the military and not given the same non fee braking terms as military. I hired a a vendor that they required to check out when vacating the premises. the man felt bad for me because of all the fees we had to pay out he charged me a very small amount to do the work. Was shown a house by someone who wasn't even an agent with them...was told by the same person that I should apply by myself and to not even mention my girlfriend,who by the way is black...was approved for the house and was told to bring in my deposit...my girlfriend called the actual property manager because she wanted her name on the lease...after she talked to him the price went up...and it turns out the guy who showed us the house was the property managers son....just seems to me like race played a part in this mess...not happy with them at all read more

Absolutely horrible organization. Much like other reviewer, I rarely rate places like this but feel compelled to help other service members. After 27 months, I notified Clyde Cooper (retired Navy LDO) of my PCS move to Newport. Was very casual conversation. Asked what else Clyde needed and he simply said he needed to get into house to get pictures to prepare for listing the house again. Keep in mind that I gave him 31 days of notification. 5 weeks later I receive a transmittal saying entire security deposit has been taken because I did not provide 60 days notification. Document indicates that I notified them 30 May 2013 and my departure date was 30 June. After several failed attempts to call Clyde (nothing unusual... he NEVER responds), I called office manager and explained my case. Keep in mind that I have a military clause in my lease requiring 30 days notification so one would think I was good. In addition, their transmittal document proves I notified them. However, today (26 July) I get a phone call stating that they are not honoring their end of the lease not because I didn't notify them (their document proves this) but that it was not in writing and without orders and I have no way of proving my notification otherwise. Classless. I have been in Army for 17 years and have rented entire time. I have NEVER had a more poor real estate agency to deal with. Had several other problems where I had to pay for broken windows, faulty thermostat (no heat in winter) and a horrific cockroach infestation when I first moved in (2-3 cockroaches a day in my townhouse... neighbors on both sides had none). Remax did nothing. As a matter if fact, I had to pay $75 for new thermostat or go without heat. Called Clyde and he promised to pay me back (over the phone of course as he was at a conference in Florida). After several attempts to get my money, I finally gave up. If you're military, stay away. What an unprofessional cruel realtor. My mother in law is moving in the area and called Sandra Cullom about a property for rent in Chesapeake. Her name was listed on the sign and my mother in law was being very polite and asking all the right questions. Before my mother in law had a chance to disconnect when the call was over, Sandra started to make fun of her without knowing she was still on the line. She mocked her and a couple people started laughing. I think this was totally rude and uncalled for. People like this give Remax a bad name. I will definitely not be using them when I look to buy a home next month. read more

Steve Doll and his team are PHENOMENAL!!! I have been working with them for 11 years and counting as both a tenant and homeowner. They are Top Notch Professionals and provide Outstanding customer service as they genuinely care and want to make sure that your needs are met in a timely manner. Their communication whenever there is a concern is very prompt. I enjoy working with them as it gives me peace of mind knowing that my home and the tenants are well taken care of at all times. Rude, nasty phone staff! Making more work for VB Code Enforcement not communicating to tenants their responsibilities. I take the time to call and alert them on advising tenants to maintain gutters and lawns and both Nina and Tammy hung up on me. Nina refused to tell me her name when I asked, "I'm not telling you!!! I"m transferring you to the agent, Tammy..." Please train your staff better!!! Please communicate to tenants about maintaining lawns, gutters, bringing in trash cans!! read more

Charged for repairs of property that were in the same state as when lease initiated. Walkthrough was conducted after we moved out and incorrectly stated that we were in attendance (we were instructed it could not be done prior to the lease date). Property manager required professional carpet cleaning to be payed for myself, return of deposit was less than cost of cleaning. Property manager did not recognize initial notice of lease termination under military orders, requiring myself to pay an extra month of rent. Communications were very poor, usually requiring 2-4 weeks for a response. I would very strongly recommend you to NOT use this management company for your property or for renting. read more

I wish that I could give a rating of ZERO stars, I also wish I had read these reviews before even considering Remax Alliance. For starters, a "realtor" by the name of Joe Wilkey works here. He is the most disgusting, rude and unprofessional person I have ever encountered. I was interested in renting a property and called him to schedule a viewing. He answered the phone, gruff and short, demanding that "not be late more than 5 minutes or else [he] is going to pack his sh** and leave, it was too hot out", etc. blah blah blah. Having this as our first conversation, I was a bit taken aback but I was desperate for a house and chalked it off to him being a grumpy old man. He is not one for pleasantries either, he slammed the phone down without so much as a goodbye. Well, the viewing came around and I was there 15 minutes early. He was 15 minutes LATE. It was indeed hot out, being June, but I maintained patient and called him at our scheduled time, letting him know I was there. He was at the wrong place and eventually made his way out. During our viewing, he made several "mmph" noises around me, stared without looking away when I caught him, and made a comment how he "couldn't believe I was single". UGH. Afterwards, while I was interested but wanted to make sure I knew what I wanted, he HOUNDED me to put in an application. Like, calling me three times a day and with each voicemail starting off as, "I'm not going to bother you no more but...." Finally, I put in an application and let him know I submitted. Now, during our INITIAL chat, during the viewing and ON THE APPLICATION, I specified I was looking for a move-in date no earlier than August 1st. AFTER I put in the application and paid the fee, Joe Wilkey then said that I would need to move in by July 1st. This was during the END of June. I told him there was no way I'd be able to do that and he said, "Figure it out on Monday" and hung up. I figured that was a lost cause, so I went on my way house hunting. Joe Wilkey calls AGAIN, two weeks later, saying that I "better make a decision" and that I would still need to move in by July 20. Confused, I repeat that I am looking for a house for an August move in date and then go on my way. During the time I paid for the application fee, I see that my bank has been directly charged by Remax Alliance and a Paypal fee for the same amount has been charged (I paid for the fee via Paypal). Ok, so I simply tell my bank I should have only been charged once and they say, no problem. Shortly afterwards, lo and behold, Joe Wilkey calls AGAIN, and I'm confused, because he said I didn't pay for the fee. I told him I was charged twice, but I did authorize the one time application fee - I can't even get my WORDS out. He interrupts, says, "I don't know NOTHIN' 'bout that, that's NOT MY PROBLEM" and then he starts screaming, yes, SCREAMING at me, yelling, throwing a fit over the phone, saying that if I don't pay him he is going to call his lawyer and "sue my ass" and I will be out even more money because I need to pay. At this point I'm frustrated as hell but I'm a non-confrontational person, so I'm trying to speak with him calmly, "OK OK....how much exactly? OK, how do you want this paid?" all the while he is still shouting and pitching a fit. For some reason he is really getting worked up over $40 and at that point, I just wanted him out of my hair. I don't normally write reviews, but I honestly can't believe how such a mean and nasty person can be getting business where people are looking for their homes. Moving is such a stressful experience and you deserve to have someone who will meet your needs, after all it is YOU who is giving them business. There are so many professional and friendly realtors out there, do NOT subject yourself to working with Joe Wilkey. read more

This company and the Steve Doll team is unbelievable. I own multiple properties and rent them out, I have rented many properties as we are a military family and what they did to us is criminal. We came into the house and it was dirty, half*** painted by the previous tenant, smelled etc. But we were in a hurry to move as we were relocating from another PCS. We took care of the home, had 5 children and when the carpet cleaners came they said "wow, you would never know. These carpets are flawless". Owner came by to see the property 2 months before we left and was so gracious and thankful. He stated that he appreciated how much we were taking care of the home and that he could tell we cared and as a fellow military member appreciated our being there. He asked if we'd stay longer and what we needed in the house to upgrade it. We were appreciative of his kind words and happy that we could take care of the home fore him. We left before lease end but continued to pay the rent and utilities as per the lease agreement. They were content with that, without even trying to rent it out again. When final move out came we used the mandatory contractors and cleaned the home. It looked so much better than when we arrived. We purchased a new stove and microwave throughout our time there that stayed in the home because the previous appliances were gross and old. We did the final inspection and heard absolutely nothing. Weeks later we receive a check in the mail that is 1/5th of the deposit we put down. The inspector, Doll himself, was rude and stated everything was dirty. Charged us an absurd amount for painting one room, which is unbelievable because when we came the room looked exactly the same. I would have respected every bit of criticism had they done the same when we arrived but they didn't. It took weeks to even hear back from them to get the information for a final inspection. When we had a hurricane that broke a tree which feel on our fence and damaged it, we called and nothing. We fixed it ourselves. When the tree out front was rotting because of a disease and would shed leaves ridiculously every season, we tried to call to request some type of remedy before it either fell on the home or a car, we heard nothing. Instead while my husband was on deployment, my elderly father-in-law and my high-risk pregnant self had to rake and remove the piles and piles of leaves daily. Branches fell constantly and luckily never damaged the home but yet no support from the doll team. We were the tenants we want in our homes and what they did to us is criminal. This military family did not deserve it and they should be ashamed of the way they do business. We did more than we ever needed to and if I wasn't so exhausted and now far away I would fight this in court because I have the pictures and video proof to prove how we maintained that home and how it was when we first came. I am disgusted and encourage you to use someone/anyone else before going to RE/MAX and using the Steve Doll team. read more

I dealt with 2 Remax Alliance agents involving the purchase and management of 10 properties over 20 years. I had to totally rely upon them because i was deployed for a lot of this time. Now that my properties are under different management and I buy using other agents, I believe the the Remax Alliance agents were both incompetent and dishonest. read more

Angie Zengilowski and her team have been managing our properties for over 10 years. They are great! Before Angie was referred to us, we had some terrible experiences with other property managers that resulted in thousands of dollars lost. Angie is very good at screening and working with renters. She is fair to both renters and property owners. She communicates with us in regards to potential renter's situation, give us her insights and professional opinions, so we can be confident in the people we are renting our properties to. As properties get older, they inevitably will need maintenance, and upkeep. When that happens (and it of course happened multiple time for us over the years), Angie and her team always work very diligently with us and our renters, to ensure a reasonable budget for us, and convenience for our renters. Her office is always on top of giving us monthly and yearly financial statements. read more

Horrible experience. DO NOT USE ANGIE KING, she treats great credit people like they have the worst credit in the world. Trying to rent a place for $1300 a month with a combined income of $7500 but since we aren't married we both have to qualify separately. Seems like discrimination to me. Re/Max may not be a bad company but if i was you i'd use anyone else there just not ANGIE KING. One last thing i had to put 1 star to be able to submit this and that's the only reason it was. Also she is lazy and unprofessional leasing agent. Unlike a professional agent that meets you at the property she had the current tenant show it. Man I'm in car sales maybe if I'm selling a used car I should call the previous owner to come in and do my job for me. . Great job keep up the good work Angie. read more

Renter beware!! I have never written a review before, but I felt it had to be done in this case. As the other reviews have said, they are not a good property management team. It takes weeks for work to be completed. There's no communication between employees, much less between the property manager and tenant. We are a military family who have lived all over the country and this is the first issue we've had. I would definitely NOT recommend Angie Z and her team. read more
