I love this place. Nuff said…read more Seriously though, Superking is an awesome grocery store! But I gotta say, I normally don't come here for groceries because the prices may be decent but the produce aren't always fresh. I normally visit to buy sushi and hot foods. There's an amazing food bar that serves pretty tasty Asian dishes. I think combos cost around $8.99 and they'll stuff as many varieties into one container for you - no limit on how many dishes you choose! Bonus: At the end of the day, the leftover hot foods are packaged and after 8pm, they sell for 50% off. You can get a big heap of orange/lemon/mango chicken for just $4! Other than hot foods, I also love their bakery section. There are some delicious breads and buns to try out - I personally like the one with the sausage stuck in the middle of the bun! Individual cake slices are also available, and so are macaroons. The shelves are always stocked with amazing Asian snacks, spices and ingredients. There are plenty of Western ingredients too. Depending on the day, the line-ups to get checked out could be long. Superking is also located in Westmount Mall, so you can continue your shopping journey and pop over to visit more stores like Urban Planet or Bulk Barn once you've picked up those weekly groceries!

Typical "higher end" Asian grocery store. Carries most of the popular Asian food brands eg vitasoy…read moredrink boxes as well as more popular veggies for Asian dishes. But like most Asian stores, it needs better ventilation in the meat and sea food departments. The smell is over whelming just walking by. Best thing about this place is the hot food section if you're too lazy to cook. Like other stores in London, suffers from lack of cashiers. There were only 2 when I went and the lines were LONG. At a time when most people are getting off work and doing their shopping, this is not good for business

This has actually been my regular grocery store for years and the truth of the matter is that I've…read morelikely taken it for granted. I mean, it's pretty great. However, something happened this week that changed my mind. When my sons returned to school it was discovered that their school air conditioning was not working and the children were suffering. Well, this location donated popsicles to the entire school ... really great stuff. It occurred to me that they frequently donate to local charities and do so without publicizing it. But more about the actual store. It is always clean, well organized and employees have always been helpful and friendly on the odd occasion when they appear out of something or I simply forget where something is. Over-and-above what you would expect from a grocery store they have so much more: a sushi bar, a take out counter of ready-made meals, a full pharmacy, housewares, toys, a wine store, photo studio, banking and even clothes. I'm sure there is more I'm forgetting - its a pretty big place but well organized. Upstairs there is a kitchen where they have cooking demonstrations and kids camp and even a gym. They have 10% off for all students on Tuesday and often items on sale. The weekends can be busy so if you don't like crowds you may want to time your visits strategically. That being said, there are always lots of cashiers and the waits are reasonable. The best review I can give is that I actually go out of my way to do my shopping here whenever possible - the word super is in their name for a reson.

This location is a bit closer to my place than the Oakridge Superstore location, but it's not my first choice. This particular location is good, but is lacking a few components for me. This location is close to where a lot of students live and they do have stock, but it runs out quickly from the past few times I have been there, but I can usually find what I'm looking for, plus the convenience factor of the location. The whole store has terrible cellphone reception, and I rely on my phone for my PC Plus Points app and my Flip app so I can price match, with it no reception, or very little, I can't use my phone to price match or use my PC Plus Card. This is one of the main reasons I don't prefer to come here. The prices seem to be a bit cheaper than other grocery stores in the area, and you can definitely price match items from a certain list of competitive stores they will price match from. The staff are very friendly at the checkout and the different departments if you're looking for something you can't find. Great store, great location, crappy cellphone reception for 2016.

I didn't get half the things on my list because prices were so expensive compared to No Frills (another chain in the Loblaws empire). This store must be aimed at an up-market crowd because they don't even carry some products in the no name version. Some of the produce was of the pick it up, look at price, immediately put it down variety e.g. eight organic cherry tomatoes for $5.50. Cheapest toilet paper was $6.50. They did have large basil plants for $4. Good selection of organic products. Large health food section, with commensurately high prices. No chilled products in the beer/wine section. They need to install a fridge there. The clerk at the bakery section was very polite. The bakery area is big and has a large selection of interesting products like Ace cranberry focaccia. They should consider installing something to help customers easily find specific products. I recommended iPads for a different Loblaws.

I moved to London from Los Angeles, and was afraid I'd have a hard time finding the specialty…read moreingredients I was used to finding so easily in California. But I shouldn't have worried, because United Supermarket is a treasure trove of specialty ingredients, for a wide range of Asian cuisines -- Filipino, Vietnamese, Japanese, Thai, Chinese, and more. There's also prepared sushi and bubble tea, which I haven't tried. You can find any sort of sauce or vinegar you might want (fish sauce, soy sauce, cooking wine, etc.), as well as a wide range of cheap bagged spices. There's canned green jackfruit and coconut milk, and even canned hummus and baba ghanoush. There are lots of prepared frozen foods, like dumplings, spring rolls, etc. You'll find any sort of organ meat you might want, along with a lot of frozen and fresh fish -- they even had black silky chickens available. Explore the aisles and see what inspires you! If you're not as adventurous a cook, United Supermarket is still well worth checking out for the cheap produce. But be warned; cheap produce like this spoils quickly, and check the expiration dates. I bought mushrooms that I noticed were already a day past the sell buy date, and that went bad in a couple of days sitting in my fridge. They have cool grocery baskets on wheels that you can lug around the store, but you're not allowed to take them outside. So if you're planning to buy more than you can easily carry to your car, pony up a refundable $1 (yes, $1, not 25 cents!) to get a cart. They also cut keys for $2. I had them cut a key for me, and it didn't work (it was cut on a key that was slightly the wrong size.) I returned it a few days later, and they cut me a new one that worked great, for no extra charge. Insider tip: look on the bottom shelf of one of the middle produce shelves, and you'll see wrapped up packs of clearance produce for $1 each. It's a bit of a gamble, but I've gotten great oranges, pears, and even avocados this way!
