I loved this pumpkin patch. It was so great for taking photos. The pumpkins were in great shape too unlike other patches I tried to photograph. There were TONS. They were also cheaper than other places. It was worth the drive. There was also cute animals to say hi to. Lots of rides. I only wish the maze and etc didn't require tickets. Even if you're not a kid, it was a fun trip as a couple.

This place was....interesting…read more I'll be honest, it popped up as a pumpkin patch. My sister just moved to the area and was looking for one close for her kiddos, and this was around the corner, so we decided to give it a try. To start, it was $10/person to get in, which wasn't really promoted. We've lived many different places and have never had to pay to get into a pumpkin patch, so that was a surprise. Kids were the same price, also a surprise. The property is pretty cool, they have some farm animals. They sold food to buy but half the animals you couldn't feed and the other half were already full from being fed so much. We assumed it was a regular petting zoo and bought some food before seeing it, so we ended up with leftover bags of food and no animals to feed. The hay ride only went once hourly so you basically had to wait around forever if you wanted to ride it. The maze was cool and the concept seemed really fun to find a message BUT the first word on the message was "God" and honestly, nowhere did they promote this farm as a religious-based experience. Lastly - the pumpkins. We came here for one reason. They don't even grow pumpkins on site, they ship them in, and they don't keep them stocked. I think we had like 20-30 pumpkins to choose from, if that, and they were picked over. We had a 4YO and a 6YO and they couldn't pick any of the pumpkins up, all the kid size ones were already sold. I feel like this could be a good spot for what it is, and if it was marketed as that - a Christian family fun farm experience. But, that's not what we had expected based on the marketing they had, so it was a bit of a disappointment for us.

Whenever I step on the…read moreproperty, I feel like I have gone back in time when life was a bit simpler, and people respected one another. This is not one of those big commercial farms that are overcrowded with people. Instead, there is plenty of room to roam, and it's great. Our visit last weekend was no different. I have taken my kids here for about 14 years now. We always have fun, whether we are picking apples, pumpkins, or playing. My only complaint is that there usually seems to be a limited staff, and we never walk away thinking, "wow, they were so friendly!" It has never felt like a friendly place. That's surprising to me for a multi-generational family farm. Last weekend was the same, unfortunately. The young lady that weighs the pumpkins was exceptionally grumpy and rude. My kids even talked about her poor attitude. Prices always seem to be relatively high here, although there is no price for admission, which is very nice. However, as we left last weekend, a somewhat oversized woman was walking around the barn entrance, just out of sight from the staff. The kids and I wondered why she was looking at people this way. Then we saw why - She was stuffing mini-pumpkins in her coat and pants! Seriously... stealing mini-pumpkins! In all, we had a great time and continued making fun memories. We will no doubt be back, despite the crankiness.

I've been going to Centennial Farms for a few decades now. While the business exterior has changed…read morequite a bit over the last 20 years, the quality of the apples and pumpkins have remained the same. This isn't an overly-commercial apple-picking farm that's crowded with swarms of people like some farms. Centennial is a grassroots family farm with heart and soul. I really enjoy walking out back to the orchard (though they do have a hayride for those with small children), and going through all the rows of apples. There are multiple varieties of apples clearly labeled with wooden signs in front of each row. One of my favorite varieties of apple they have are Empire apples (and it's not only because I'm a huge Star Wars geek). They are a sweet and sour apple that are great to eat by themselves or wonderful for baking with. When you're done picking, just weigh your own apples on the scale and head up to the register in the barn to pay. Pick-your-own apples are $1.75/pound. If you want a peaceful apple-picking experience out in beautiful Augusta, Mo., then please give Centennial Farms a try!

I'm a teacher, and our grade recently visited Pumpkins Galore for a field trip on a Friday morning…read more The booking process was simple and stress-free. Unfortunately, on the morning of our field trip, it was pouring rain. As we were on the buses headed there, Pumpkins Galore contacted us with complete transparency that they weren't sure they'd be able to accommodate our group due to the rain. I really appreciate their honest communication and customer service. When we arrived, the rain ended up stopping for the rest of the day, and we had perfect weather! Since everything was soaked from the downpour, Pumpkins Galore adjusted the schedule and activities for us. Their flexibility was amazing. I couldn't believe how much there was for us to do! The kids explored the corn maze, played on the playground, painted their own pumpkins to take home, went on a tractor ride, and fed goats, chickens, a turkey, and a peacock. They had an absolute blast. There were plenty of picnic tables for us to eat the sack lunches we brought. Porta potties only, but they were super clean. Pumpkins Galore went above and beyond and delivered all the painted pumpkins to our school the following week since the paint hadn't dried in time on the day of our field trip. Awesome experience from start to finish, and I can't recommend this place enough. If you're looking for some fall family-friendly fun, definitely check this place out!
