I called the tow truck driver and told him I was able to get out. He said, no problem, but I had to contact Joe's for a refund. I asked him who he was, because I thought he worked for Joe's. The driver explained they are a company that sources work from trucks contracted in various areas. I asked him how much he would charge me if I had called his company directly. He told me they would charge me $200 for this service. I contacted Joe's and was initially told I wasnt getting a refund. I argued and the guy told me he would ask his boss and have his boss text me. Later that evening I received a refund in the amount of $201. They kept $250 for talking and texting two people for a total of less than 20 minutes. This third party company will scam you. On 12/22/24 I was traveling from Somerset, KY to State College, PA for Christmas. Outside of Armagh, PA we had a tire blow out. We called AAA at 4:00 PM and requested that they send someone to change it. It was 15 degrees, I'm 73 and that's what I pay AAA for. Even though their Agent Danielle tried repeatedly, no one responded. We were finally told after repeated calls that no one would be coming and it was now our problem. By now it's 8:00 PM, dark and even colder. Luckily we found someone locally who came out and changed the tire within 20 minutes. I will be canceling my membership forever. Update: I was told by the last AAA agent I talked with to submit a request for reimbursement for the $50 I spent to get the tire changed.
