Tim and is associate Kevin both offered to meet with me in the fall 2017 prior to tax season. I was scheduled to meet with Tim but he was sick the day of my appointment so instead I met with Kevin. Kevin took time to review my previous two tax returns and gave me suggestions. He even made a suggestion for filing that garnered $900 in my pocket that same month without charging me a penny! That next spring Tim filed our taxes. They offered to meet with me in person again before filing, meet after the preparation was completed, and be available for questions in between. He knows Joliet area and his kids even went to the same school as mine but 10 years earlier. He called me the day he was going to submit my taxes. We are again having Tim file our taxes this year. After 25 years of filing my own taxes its nice to have them in the hands of a trusted professional.

I hired Ashley Schmitz, of Each Penny Bookkeeping, back in January of 2022. I signed a $550/mo…read morecontract with the company for her bookkeeping services. In May of this year (2025), Each Penny Bookkeeping withdrew $13,300 from my business account, not $550. After further examination, I discovered that she began withdrawing money in excess of the $550/mo we agreed upon starting in July 2024. To date, her company has withdrawn $27,500 in excess of our contractual agreement. All unauthorized. I confronted Ashley about this in May and she assured me it was an error with the software she uses and she told me she refunded the transactions. After weeks of waiting, no refunds were issued to us. After inquiring again. I was told that she'd wire the money to me. Again, I have received nothing. I attempted to contact her on June 12th for proof of a transfer and she did not respond and has not responded to any subsequent emails or phone calls since that date. My calls go straight to voicemail and she has also blocked me on social media. We are working with the State Attorney office and criminal charges have been filed against her.
