I purchased a 2003 Honda CR-V base model months and months ago. Drove it for a day or two before it started acting up! Took it to pep boys and the repair cost around $400. It was covered under the 1000 mile warranty. But the warranty company they use is lame and was giving me the run-around so I never received the reimbursement check. BUT, the car hasn't given me any issues since then and everything works friggin perfectly! This is why I believe Used Car dealerships are either as bad or worse than branded dealerships. They're employed by people with bad attitudes and personalities. They don't really car about their customers and reel you in with their seemingly marked down price, then bait and switch on you when they show you the financial break down on the vehicle that you seem to want from them. They mostly sell cars with a litany of issues that may range from, strut issues to transmission issues on the mechanical side, as for the tech side, check engine light issues to starter issues, which they don't tell you as they're selling their cars. All they want from you is your money, that's it. They're not much for price haggling and what is written on the vehicle's financial breakdown is the only price they'll go with, along with their bank's recommended or required down payment, which can go up to $5,000.00, which they'll never try to help lower. If they don't see that you're no-longer interested in moving forward, they'll tell you to get out of their store and never come back, which I find rude. This is why Used Car dealerships are a big rip off, they rip you off more than Branded Dealerships and at least at branded dealerships, like Honda, Jeep and Ford, their sales reps are at least friendly with their customers and are transparent on their financial breakdown. In essence, don't trust used car sellers and lots. The you'll end up paying $10,000.00 more on the vehicle, than what the sticker price is, in the end. read more

I purchased a 2013 Cadillac ATS 6 months ago and had a very good experience with the salesman until now. The piston and cylinder 1 is bad and car is in the shop with a $5000 bill. When I purchased the vehicle I asked for the best extended warranty plan I could get. Now that I need to use it ( 7months later) I find out the extended plan is a minimal plan which barely covered the repairs but I still need to pay out of pocket for bolts that were not covered and I have NO RENTAL with the warranty. Why when I asked for the best warranty and was willing to pay for it, would you provide me with a minimal coverage plan. Very upset and will not be back to purchase another vehicle anytime. Here's an update on this review. So the third party warranty company did take responsibility and wound up replacing the whole motor. I had been searching for a specific vehicle for some time and located 2 listed by two different dealerships, (un)Reliable Auto Sales being one of them. I was working with Bob via text on the car they had on their lot and from the beginning he was extremely unwilling to work with me. Keep in mind, I was going to fly from Michigan to Vegas to buy the car and drive it back. When I asked if they would entertain my offer on the vehicle I was coldly told "I'll say it once and I'll say it again, there is no haggling." I bought a Tesla Model S. The vehicle was well priced so I decided to fly from San Jose to Vegas to get the car. Doug was sales person working with me. He ensure me that he has sent me the pictures all all the dents and scratches so there are no surprises. He ensured that the car will be detailed and charged, ready to go. So I reach there at 10am. 1. The car had a big scratch on the driver car seat, Doug said he did not see it. It was big and very very noticeable. 2. The car was dirty and I had to tell them to clean it, even after it was done, it was no where close to a good detail 3. While test driving today the salesman gets a call and says "I'm with the car now, we'll see who offers more" we get back and Mary( our salesperson) informs us the car has been bought. My wife overheard them pressure selling these poor people who didn't even have a $500 down payment into the sale. They were at to pay window price, not internet price. Then they told us they had out 12k down on an 11.7k car( obviously a lie) and that we would not be able to buy. I'm 50 and in all my time have never seen such a dishonest car dealer in all my life. The process with her was very fast and easy. I bought a 2015 Dodge Tradesman Van last year for my business from UN-Reliable Auto and paid in full. The odometer was at 96,868 and is now at 98,071. It was driven only 1200 miles in a little over a year. Now the transmission is gone! My mechanic said the transmission oil had never been changed! Fluids would be a simple check for any reliable auto dealer, but not for UN-Reliable Auto! We had the worst experience at this place. Everyone knows that when you buy a car negotiating is part of the process. Not with these guys. It's like they found that concept to be offensive! It was shocking how unreceptive they were to it - and we were CASH customers! The salesman we dealt with, Raymond, was amazing. The problem with these guys is the management. By the end of this, I legitimately felt bad for him and how it must be working there. Here's the story: My wife, myself, our daughter and my father in law went here looking for a Ford F150 Lariat. They had EXACTLY what we were looking for. We were approached by Raymond and we asked if it would be OK if we took to a local mechanic we knew to give it a look-over. To their credit, they were OK with us doing that. So we did. The mechanic told us the truck was in amazing condition, nothing wrong with it at all. We knew we wanted to buy it at that point. So went back to the dealership and tried to negotiate. It didn't work. They would not budge. Not even a little. We tried playing hardball and told them to call us if they changed their mind. Raymond told us right away that was not going to happen. He knew his bosses were not going to negotiate at all. He was really trying for us but management had no interest in budging on the price at all despite getting paid cash on the spot. We decided to go get some food and figure out what we wanted to do. I sent a text to Raymond and told him we were going to buy the truck despite the difficulties from his bosses. If this truck weren't EXACTLY what we were looking for AND completely check out from our mechanic, then we would have walked away. These people were not at all reasonable or friendly (Raymond excluded). I told Raymond to get the paperwork ready and we would go to the bank and head back later, so he did. While I was sitting in the bank waiting for the cashiers check, my wife called and spoke with Raymond's bosses. We were all very disappointed in the reluctance of them to negotiate. The gas tank was 30 miles to empty in the truck so my wife wanted to see if they would at least be willing to fill the gas tank up. Of course, they declined to even do that! They told my wife that it was "against their policy" to fill up the gas tank. That seemed like a very unique policy so she asked if she could see their policy. If they could e-mail it to her. A seemingly simple request if this was truly some bizarre policy they had. And this is when the man she was speaking with LOST IT. He got loud and obnoxious and rude and then he refused to do business with us! They actually refused to do business with us because we were trying to negotiate! He reacted as if someone had just caught him in a lie and he was pissed off about it. My wife was not rude, mean or disrespectful with him. She just genuinely felt that since we were about to hand them over several tens of thousands of dollars that the least they could do is fill the gas tank! This is an EXTREMELY reasonable request. She got off the phone and started crying almost immediately. We did not at all expect that kind of reaction from such a simple and fair request. After about 20 minutes I called back to speak with the manager to try to smooth things over and the manager was not having it. This vehicle was exactly what we wanted and were looking for. My wife is disabled and the seats were comfortable for her (which is hard to find). She has pretty severe back pain so the heated and cooled seats were necessary. And we knew it was mechanically sound. So I called back and decided to take the humble approach and immediately apologize for everything. The manager did not care at all. He told us he has the right to refuse service to anyone, that we were difficult to deal with from the beginning and did not care about anything else. It was shocking. I was and still am to this day shocked at how appalled this dealership was at the very idea they would be open to negotiating AT ALL. They honestly seemed offended at the very idea someone would try to negotiate with them. I cannot put into words the abruptness and stubbornness the management showed on this day. I never thought something so benign as asking for them to fill up a gas tank would escalate to such childish and rude behavior. It was totally uncalled for. Since they refused to do business with us, we ended up giving our parents the money to go buy the truck for us. So now we have the truck and we are letting everyone know to steer clear from this place. If we weren't paying cash I would have NEVER done business with them. I would not enter into a business transaction that would require me to deal with them consistently. This is exactly the kind of place you want to avoid buying a car from. I want to make it clear that the salesman, Raymond, was not any of the problem. He was friendly and tried his best to make things work the first time around. I needed to pay cash for a reliable vehicle, it needed to have amazing fuel economy, and low miles. I found that Reliable Auto had a bunch of 2013-2014 Volkswagen CC's with under 40K miles in my cash price range and a few over. Of course the one that I wanted was "Sold" prior to me arriving and I was shown a much costlier vehicle. My sales person, did not let me test drive the vehicle more than on the lot, which I thought was odd. He legit told me to not leave the parking lot with it. The vehicle seemed to run well, I was told I would get this same vehicle for the same price as the one I originally came to view, but there of course was the back and forth with honoring that statement. I would say that the car purchasing experience was annoying with the back and forth, I hate that about purchasing vehicles because it INSTANTLY creates a lack of trust. Choosing the right vehicle was an experience you would expect from a used car dealership, helpful sales associate, not overly knowledgable about the vehicle but enough to ensure this would be the best choice for me. I could not imagine any used car sales person should be forced to learn about every single vehicle on the lot, but honestly he knew all the important things. I feel bad I cannot remember his name, but sold me a 2013 Volkswagen CC with only 30k miles. He convinced me that this vehicle would easily keep me on the road for the few years that I need it and would probably go over 100k miles no problem.... Well there was a problem, a big one. I totally did not want to take my vehicle back because I felt I was scammed but Sean convinced me to bring the vehicle back so they could see what the issue was. I literarily was terrified about the outcome but to my surprise, they were able to safely take care of the issue, for a fair price, which did restore my faith in purchasing a used vehicle. I really wish I could give this place 0 stars Went in to check out a 2005 Pontiac GTO yellow jacket with 29,011 miles on it, I spoke to Raymond on the phone who was willing to answer my questions but didn't exactly tell me the whole truth, I had asked if the car had any damage to it aside from paint chips/normal wear from 14 year old paint to which he said no. unfortunately upon showing up and looking at the car there was a noticeable smaller scuff, the rear bumper by the wheel was slightly pushed out, and the rim on the rear passenger side area was scuffed from whatever happened, but I didn't really mind it that's all fixable, the car is definitely not worth the almost 20k though even though It drove nice, the AC belt made a squeak as well... after diving around it went away so I assume it was just from sitting so long which again didn't put me off I was willing to work out a deal with them, the powder coating on the front passenger wheel was chipping away due to age as well. Unfortunately Mary our sales person made the experience not the greatest, she was very rude with comments, didn't have any customer service, didn't answer questions I had about the car, and made me feel like I was a nuisance the entire time I was looking at the car. I put down $2500 and drove the car back to Stockton, CA. The check engine light came on while I was driving and I called and notified them of the problem. I was avoided and lied to especially not knowing until the last minute that I had to have the car smogged in California to be able to get it registered and obtain my plates. I called and spoke to the General manager who claim to be the general manager at the time and was talked down to. So basically I was taken advantage of because I am still having problems out of this vehicle and they do not stand behind their word especially since the car had a 30 day warranty on it and they did not resolve the problem. It is one thing to take a customer money but to literally be like OH well! the deal is done, is not a way to conduct business. I am still having problems out of this car and my first thought is to round up all the customers that have had problems and conduct a class action law suit. You have to be careful now days how you treat people cause you never know how powerful that customer is. Save your money and go somewhere else!! I can assure you that this is not a random negative post. They are very well aware of me and I will not stop until I seek justice against this car lot. Bought a car Thursday night, drove it home and realized the breaks were bad, I tried to contact the 2 sales people that helped us, emails and texts were sent and not a single response, so I took the car to a service shop to have the breaks inspected. Front and back brakes, alignment and 2 new tires. After owning the car for 2 days I had to spend $900 to fix things that the dealership should have taken care of, the car is a certified pre owned vehicle, how they managed that with bad breaks I don't know. For one thing it is my own fault for not writing this 6 months ago, but I figured I'd wait to see just how much MORE could actually go wrong!! Well today I reached my breaking point!! Originally when I bought the car it was listed at $10,999.00 (my own fault) didn't read contract but I ended up paying $12,999.00, when I called to ask about this I was given some shut excuse on why the change was made! Fine, my fault, I should've read the contract! Ever since I got the car I have had NOTHING but problems! I had to have the battery replaced within the first month, the brakes were so bad, my mechanic couldn't believe that it was sold to me like that by a dealership. I have had nothing but electrical problem after electrical problem. I have spent $1000s trying to find out what is wrong with no avail. Now today I get a warning saying that I have an immediate transmission fault and to stop driving immediately! So once again it is at the mechanic and I won't find out until tomorrow how much more this will cost!! NEVER BUY A CAR FROM RELIABLE AUTO SALES ON SAHARA!! For one, they practice deceptive sales practices! And the cats they sell are garbage!! Oh, before I forget, I was also told, when I was forced to buy new tires less than a month after purchase, that it should be against the law for a dealership to sell a car with tires that were as bad as the ones that were on the car. There were steel belts showing on the inside of two of the tires. Just ridiculous! I went to this place looking for a Mercedes. I walked in and everybody just kind of stared at me. I finally said "I'm here car shopping." A guy that I honestly thought was a homeless guy that was in there using the bathroom turned out to be a salesperson. he didn't introduce himself, he didn't ask how I was doing, the first words out of his mouth were "how's your credit?" My option, these guys are a bait and switch dealership. Before visiting the lot I researched the car I wanted on their website pricing first. Made them an cash offer based on their website price. They try to give me some bullshit runaround that their final price would be $3000 more than "advertised"on the website. They're not the kind of dealership this town needs.
