He had me check a couple of routine things while he was on the phone, like the breakers and asked if the outside unit was on. He was out here in under 15 minutes! he had the problem diagnosed and fixed in under 10 minutes. it was a loose wire, he tightened it and there was also a blown fuse, which he quickly replaced. Dowd heat and air replaced my 30 year old gas furnace with a heat pump and new gas furnace to add a…read morebackup heating method. Dowd's bid was complete with two alternatives, one with an air handler only and one with a gas furnace backup. The job was complete in a day and the installation was neat and professional. Clean up was good. Of the bids I received Dowd's bid was the most complete. One competitor, bidding the same equipment, was almost double the bid I received from Dowd. So far the system handled both 13° and 95° days in stride. My old system caused variations in the temperature from room to room of +- 5-7° now with this system the variation is around 1°. The gas furnace never turned on during the colder stretch. Very pleased.

We knew "someday" it would have to be replaced - but didn't expect it to suddenly quit working. I called three companies to come out for estimates. The lady from Wortman was knowledgeable about their products, current rebates and estimated payback times (cost vs. efficiency). Here's the important part: she was helping me make the best decision - not trying to sell me. I've read that a quality installation is essential for efficient operation. The next morning, two men from Wortman arrived to install the new system. Both were clean, polite and well-trained. They were SO careful removing the 41-year old furnace, getting it across our hardwood floors. Later, our son (who is HVAC certified) examined the new system and said the installation is perfect. I"m so glad I called Wortman. I'm 100% satisfied with the timeliness of Wortman's response, the quality of the new unit, a perfect installation - all at a competitive price. This is value!

Here it is June 2023--my AC has been out three days and Airco cant come until tomorrow--and will charge for the visit. Wortman agreement said they covered me for ten years but now I am sweating my butt off and having to pay another vendor to fix it. If I could have found them when they shut me out--I would have sued them for breach of contract. Instead I have to find another vendor to service Wortman's equipment. Also, if someone leaves you a negative review you should do better, not call the customer upset.
