Wanted to leave a review mainly because of the manager Steve. My wife and I recently purchased a couple of the Human Touch Perfect Chairs from a different Relax the Back location. After having them for a few days, we decided we'd like to have the matching media table. For the table, we went to Steve's store since that was closer to our home. Although we were ready to pay for the table, he remembered that we had bought it (from the other location) during a weekend promotion that had offered the table for free. This was a $350 value! So he took his time looking into it while we were there, and ultimately, he was able to honor that deal, a deal that the other salesman hadn't even mentioned to us (!) I really appreciate his straightforward and honest manner. My wife decided to purchase a nice office chair while we were picking up the table. All in all, a great experience so far, and we'll definitely be sticking with this location in the future. read more

I stopped in here after work to check out their beds, recliners, and their Labor Day Sale. The store is easy to find, parking was convenient and the store is clean and welcoming. Donna is by far one of the BEST associates I've worked with at ANY furniture/mattress store. Ever. She took the time to listen to my needs and was great at communicating the differences between the beds and chairs. My husband wasn't with me at the time, so she offered an appointment for us to come in together and complete an assessment to get us into exactly what's best for us and our comfort. I'm looking forward to working with Donna and even more excited a out our new furniture. In a world where customer service has gone completely down hill, it was a great feeling being talked to like a human being and not a "sale" for the books. On April 1 of 2022, me and my husband walked into a Relax the Back by our home in Laguna Niguel. I was interested in a Tempur-pedic bed. The salesman was named Steve Kern. Steve said he was filling in for Donna and he manages the Irvine store. I've always wanted to try a Tempur-pedic bed but could not afford it but my husband was being very generous because I suffer severe back pain and was open to trying the trial. I was tired because in the past year I had trialed 3 other beds that didn't work out. STEVE explained to us that we had nothing to lose except a $300 restocking fee. Steve brought to our attention that during the three months trial that if something were to happen to the bed the warranty would not cover it if I didn't have the their foundation. Their foundation was $450 for a CA King. Our current bed foundation were slats. That made me nervous but I wanted to try this mattress really bad on the foundation it was designed for. So we purchased the $450 foundation knowing that there is no refund. Steve made that clear. He also made it clear that there would be a return fee of $300 for restocking. The bed was delivered within days and I was so very excited. I just turned 50 and I was hoping this would be the bed of my dreams. After a couple months, Sadly, the mattress was not a good fit. For me it had a terrible "feeling stuck" feeling, not to mention it was so incredibly hot. We were sweating profusely in this bed. I called the store numerous times and was told I had to call back on a day Steve was there. Because he sold me the mattress. I finally got ahold of Steve and I explained I needed to return the bed and he said he will process the refund and he would mail me the receipt and we walked through everything over the phone, and I asked if I could pick it up but he said he'd just mail it to me two blocks away. Once I received the receipt, I was expecting a balance around $750 -- $450 for the foundation and $300 restocking fee. But I was stunned to have a balance that was over $1,000. I called Steve back and asked why is there a mysterious pickup fee of $199.00 that you NEVER mentioned once. That would mean to return the bed before the 90 day trial would cost $500. We never agreed to those terms. I just could not believe with fees and taxes it cost over $500 to return a bed during trial. Only the $300 restocking fee was ever mentioned, even when we reviewed the refund process and numbers over the phone. Also I'm very familiar with the charity that picked up the mattress which is called Sharetown. ShareTown does not charge any fee as the mattresses are donated. I know this because they picked up the three prior mattresses we trialed with no fee from the charity or mattress company. One company was Purple with the mattress similar in price. I complained to Steve about the secret hidden fee of $199 for pickup. Steve simply replied next time you buy a mattress I can waive the fee for you. I asked him to waive it now, he said he could not. I asked why he never mentioned it? He simply said next time he'd waive it. As if there's going to be a next time? No wonder he wanted to mail me the refund documents when I literally live two blocks away, and I would've stopped in. I believe this store was deceptive hiding an additional pickup fee of $199 on top of a restocking fee of $300 if you choose to return the mattress. I already accepted full responsibility for the other fees. But this is egregiously shameful for a reputable store to scam unsuspecting customers out of additional fees and tie it to a pick up fee that was picked up by a charity.. I'm at a loss the lack of integrity and honesty this store policy of hiding fees. You would think since I got stuck with paying for the foundation that I didn't need, he could've waived the additional unmentioned $199.00 fee, but he did not. I drive by this store everyday and I will forever remember how they take advantage of unsuspecting customers with excessive hidden fees. This has really upset me. First of all, I rarely leave reviews (I think this is my third time), but I felt compelled due to the extraordinary service at Relax the Back in Laguna Niguel. Steve, the store manager was very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, but most of all, low key and never pushy. He was very patient, answered all my questions and allowed me to take all the time in the world to examine the products on the showroom floor. I found the entire experience - well - quite relaxing. I purchased a Human Touch Perfect Chair, which I've had for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it, more that I even imagined. I had an older model of this product for the past 20 years or so, and believe it to be the most comfortable chair for long-term sitting such as in a living or media room, especially for those who suffer from any type of back pain. Sometimes when my back goes out, this is the only chair that is comfortable for me to sit in. All other times, it just makes my back feel better. That said, the current model is several times better than the old model due to many factors including jade stone infrared heating, adjustable lumbar support and extremely improved ultra soft leather and cushioning. But most of all, the new model provides a secondary motor to raise and lower the legs independently of the recline feature. In the old model, the bending of your legs was basically fixed in a "zero gravity position", which is great, allowing you to you recline up and down to suit your needs with little or no pressure on the spine. The new model, however, also allows you to raise and lower your legs independently of the recline function which can be used at the same time. This is a total game changer and completely changes the characteristics of the chair while maintaining the benefits of the old model. Being able to independently lift and lower the legs while using the recline feature gives you the benefits of a full recliner, where you can stretch your legs out, and a zero gravity chair, making it, IMHO, live up to its name as the perfect chair. I was considering waiting a while to purchase this chair because I still had an older model that was working fine, but now that I've had it for over two weeks, I cannot be happier that I made the decision to purchase it sooner rather than later. It really made a difference beyond my expectations, and I cannot more highly recommend this store or this product. I love this location because it hass everything I need for my back and neck issues. Since I travel alot, their temperpedic travel pillow and neck pillow is hands down my favorite item. So much so, I bought 3. Gave one to my mom, and kept an extra to have when I travel internationally. I am very upset ! I have been considering buying a massage chair for quite a while. I walked in , (no customers in the store,) Sales girl on the phone sitting at the desk. She says can I help you? I said I'd like to try out your message chairs. Still sitting ,she says how much do you want to spend? I said I would like to try your least expensive one( knowing they go up to 12,000.) Relax The Back in Laguna Niguel has always had outstanding customer service. I am currently buying my second Tempurpedic mattress from them and would not go anywhere else. This time, I had the pleasure of working with Frankie Hockaday, the store manager. She was friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. Frankie was not pushy at all. The store was very sanitary, providing disposible clothes to place over pillows, so you could safely lay down and find the right firmness for your needs. With the high price of these matresses (same price everywhere), you want a classy, courteous manager like Frankie. read more

Back in summer 2016 I bought a pretty pricy office chair ($2100) at the Torrance location, and already had experience with fixing the base once. This time, the hydraulic lifter for the chair was leaking, causing it to drift down slowly towards the ground as I was sitting in it. It started doing that last Friday. I called the local store, and spoke with Dan. He managed to look me up on their central database, and we discussed a new chair and I ended up deciding to go with his suggestion I pay $99 for an on-site repair. They came to MY office in Costa Mesa and did a complete tune up on my chair including the lifter being replaced and tightening everything so no more creaking. It's Monday and I feel like it's like new again. I love this chair, so I am thrilled I do not have to replace it. I spend more time in this chair than I do my bed or in my car seat, so it makes sense to spend $ for this type of support and comfort. I also appreciate the insanely good, fast service. read more

My wife and I visited the store today, primarily looking for an inversion table. Although the Irvine location was closer to us, because of all the negative Yelp reviews we decided to visit the Laguna Niguel location instead. We are glad we did! Albert R. was there, filling in for the regular manager Dan. Albert was knowledgeable, courteous, and basically a very nice guy! My wife and I asked him a ton of questions about inversion tables as well as Tempurpedic beds. Albert was able to answer all of our questions and was able to explain many of the pros and cons about various inversion tables and beds. If the regular manager Dan is half as good as Albert, you'll have a great experience with this store. read more

Bought 2 zero gravity chairs. Within 2 years the leather like fabric on both chairs is flaking and coming off and looks horrible. I called the store and they looked up our account and said, "sorry, you're just past the warranty period." My only option was buy a "kit" which would cost $790 or $1200 PER CHAIR. I find this unacceptable. They know the material is defective because they no longer make it. They shouldn't try to profit on replacing it. I don't mind a fair price, but this is extreme. read more

We found exactly what we were looking for and began asking Dan, the store's manager, about Tempur-pedic mattresses. Dan explained the pluses of the mattress and why people were so pleased with the product. He showed us the various models and explained the differences in the costs of each. I bought a leather, Human Touch chair less than a year ago. It developed a loud squeak noise when reclining. It's under warranty, so I called the number for repair. The person who takes the call had me "assist" with diagnosis before they would send a repair person. I was asked to find the serial number, put the phone by the chair and allow her to hear the noise and take photos of the chair and forward them to her. The next day, she called to say they would be willing to send someone to repair it. I waited for their repair company (3rd party) to make contact and scheduled around my work days. On the repair day, the person didn't show, so I called the repair company. No answer after 9am, even though they said they have business hours from 9-5 on weekdays. Left a vm. Called the 800 number for RTB. No assistance was provided by the RTB Customer Representative, so asked for a Supervisor. After explaining the overall poor service I'm experiencing, she's able to contact the repair company. They agree they have placed my repair on the wrong date--mind you, this was scheduled 2 weeks ago because parts had to be shipped. 1.5 hrs. into the phone conversation, the CS Supervisor offers to have YET ANOTHER repair company come the following day. I agreed. She calls me later to say she's able to have someone at my house between 12-1 today, if that would work. I agreed. It's now 1:30pm and still no repair person has been here or phoned. Horrible, horrible customer service, unreliable repair company, poor communication AND the customer is left helping with diagnostics and scheduling/resolving gross disservice issues. We visited Relax the back in February 2014. We were looking to purchase a new bed. We had also considered sleep number bed. We were looking for a comfortable bed that would help me with my neck and back ache issue. Dan, the manager at Relax the back assisted us with our needs. We sampled all the styles of Tempurpedic mattresses as well as their version of the sleep number bed. After spending alot of time in the store we left and had lunch to discuss the purchase. In the meantime, we saw another Tempurpedic store and went in there to compare. By far the better deal is at Relax the Back! They offered 48 no interested financing the other store offered 36 month. The other store did not give us the same personal attention that we received at Relax the back. So we went back and made our purchase. At that time they were also offering a $300.00 bonus for anything in the store. After our purchase we had a couple of issues with pricing and everything was matched an taken care of with no problems. I had taken a pillow with my bonus money and 3 weeks later returned it because it was not right for me. They kindly exchanged it and help me get a better fit. I would not hesitate to refer anyone to Relax the Back in Laguna Niguel based on the great service we received from Dan. Also, when our tempurpedic mattresses were delivered the delivery men took great care in making sure our bed was set up correctly as we had also purchased an adjustable bed on one side. This was a little tricky but they made it work for us and told us to contract them if we had any problems. read more
