So we waited in a line that was granted early access to seats. No assigned seats. It was only general seating. While waiting I noticed discolored ceiling tiles. This was a little disconcerting as the last place I worked had similar tiles that had to be replaced due to mold & mildew problems that lead to employees hanging respiratory problems. We were very glad that we purchased VIP tickets. It's the last performance, and before showtime, it was packed. The VIP tickets allowed us to chose seats toward the front, center stage. The seats were comfortable and our view was pretty good. It's a lovely theater, with red & green hued pyramid shapes on one wall. For this production the actors and actors were good. Sound was mostly good, but there were a few feedback or battery issues. I was impressed by the sets. Excellent.

The staff was very friendly when I made my visit. The main focus of this space is for events and performances. There was nothing scheduled when I came here so I went to the art gallery. At the time (August 2018), the exhibit on display was that of a Chicagoan photographer, and other art by a different Chicago artist, both depicting African American men. I enjoyed the pieces, however I wish that there was more emphasis here on the art/history/life/culture/ideas of African Americans living in New Mexico. I know that the African American population in NM is small, but still, I wanted to know more about what it's like to be a black resident there and about the history of how "we" originated there. Resources for this may be limited, but I think it would be great to have as something to consider.

A nice place to hang out or hold events downtown…read more On my visit to the convention center, this place was used for after conference space. Tents were set up in front of the stage and folks from the ABQ community used the space to showcase their culture to the visitors. Catering was made available to the conference attendees. On a usual basis, the plaza provided respite from the New Mexico sun. Families can find a fun on a covered playground. Kids (and adults) can climb, swing, and There's a splash pad and covered seating with some displays of artworks can be enjoyed. The park closes well after sundown, and a lighted basketball court keeps locals busy. The plaza sits atop a parking lot and between the DoubleTree and Clyde hotels. It was December and the track was on break. However, a very kind lady named Adriana responded the same day. She was very kind and welcoming. She let me know when they would be starting back up and how to get involved. I was very intimidated as I don't know anything about BMX. She was so kind and welcoming. I am so thankful. We showed up on the first day of gate practice and Adriana set us up with a free day pass. She then directed us towards where we could get loaner gear. We were loaned a bike, helmet, and jersey for our 6-year-old daughter. She rode the course at least 10 times and got a bit of a feel for the gate process. She loved it. We went again today for her first race. Multiple people were so kind to my daughter who is very clearly a novice and Adriana helped us on how to understand the Moto sheets and such. We look forward to the season progressing and Novice training starting. I will highly recommend Duke City to anyone. Can't wait to see what the season brings.

This is the absolute WORST facility in town to rent for an event. We had the misfortune of hosting…read moreour wedding reception here and I wish I could go back in time and go somewhere else. The managers are thieves, negligent and and racist. Anthony Roybal met with me a couple weeks before to go over the details of renting and he hand wrote a "contract" on scratch paper and took my deposit in cash only. He informed us that the biggest rule was we could not have outside drinks in the venue for the night of the reception and I agreed to abide. During the rehearsal dinner someone had purchased a small case of bottled water for the bridal party and shortly after our rehearsal began I got a call from Anthony. Before I could even answer the phone he was screaming and cursing at me about the water. He said that he would come down the bar and personally "kick every single ass out of there" and he didn't give a "fuck" that it was the night before our wedding. He made me cry and berated me for almost 20 minutes the night before my own wedding. During the reception he was over serving alcohol, did not even know drink ingredients, and served to a minor. I do not believe he is a licensed bartender and should not be allowed to serve any event. We had an African American friend walk into the bar with my groom and as they entered Anthony proclaimed "sorry we don't serve bananas in here." My husband said he was in absolute disbelief that he would actually say something like that. He was incredibly rude to my brother who ordered and liquid marijuana and Anthony asked what was in it and when my brother said "you're the bartender, shouldn't you know?" Anthony replied "you should fucking know what you're drinking" At the end of the reception he stole $150 from my mom. Our contract stated we owed $400 for the rental fee and he charged her $450 and then proceeded to tell her that there was a $100 bar fee that he could only accept in cash. This was never mentioned or written in our contract. When asked to return the money he said he didn't have it and I'm guessing that's why he wanted cash only. When I reached out to the other managers Adam and Miguel I was met with "deal with your issues with Anthony" and then ignored. I never got my $150 back that was stolen from my mom and we were never even given an apology for the absolutely horrible service to me as the bride and to my guests and family. I attended the Festival every year for a number of years. I enjoyed the dance classes but was not good re: practicing. I loved learning more about the complexities of the dance, the history and culture of the many generations of the Gitano/Gitanas in Spain.
