Though she was booked all day and was traveling the next day, she still let me come by during her only free hour since I was so sore post-race. The massage work is terrific. Tamara is very strong, but more importantly is also very skilled and is able to locate the knotted areas that need the most work. She's also very knowledgeable; I had initially asked for a deep tissue massage, but she explained that was too intense for one day after the race and did a mix of Swedish and deep tissue work. I was amazed by how much better my body felt the next day. The pricing is competitive, especially for such a good quality massage. Tamara is also flexible and allowed me to use Chase QuickPay, which was very convenient. I would most definitely recommend her and I will definitely be going back!

However, a Redditor (must be a local) mentioned Sunny as their go-to and so I figured we'd give it a try. Both my MIL and I loved our massages. For $60 plus $20 tip per person, we enjoyed a 60-min full body massage that did everything I hoped for. They use oils that naturally warm up as they massage you, are thoughtful about pressure, listen to and follow your requests (for example, my MIL wanted some extra attention on her knees because they are prone to aching and they did), and are easy to make appointments with. I don't care about the occasional sound from the outside world, my preoccupations fade, and I generally lose all concept of time and discomfort - physical or mental. She doesn't do the deep tissue thing, so don't call her if you prefer to get beaten a little. She has, however, helped me tremendously with my TMJ issues, back pain, and overall state of relaxation. Generally, I start out on my back, then get a little cranio-sacral work, then flip over for the back attention. I like to go for 90 minutes ($115) when I can, but 60 is great too (only $75). She's got locations in the city too - Hubbard and Damen, I think. So call her if you're looking for a laid-back massage therapist at a nice price.
