I told the front desk about this issue for 3 days and they said they would fix it but never did. Room service is not prepared on site so by the time I received my food it was cold with no way of me heating it up. I was also charged for the "free" breakfast! This hotel is out of the way and not worth the money I spent on it. The only reason I don't want to give it one star is because it was clean and the cleaning staff was very kind. I will never stay here again.

Since we were exhausted from traveling, we decided to relax with some tapas & those free drinks. We ordered a cheese board & an order of pan con tomate, both delicious. After a short nap & several hours of sightseeing, we returned to the hotel & decided to have dinner there. The weather was nice enough to eat on the terrace, which was lovely. Unfortunately, there was a large... and loud... private party close by. This was my only complaint, as they were also directly below our suite. We both enjoyed tropical drinks as a starter; a refreshing Pina Colada for me. The Argentinian steak with papas fritas & Padron peppers was perfectly cooked & so good! We finished with cheesecake with an Amareno cherry sauce & coffee. Wonderful! I wish the hotel was a bit closer to the core of the city. We used an Uber to traverse the 3+ miles to & back from La Rambla. However, we were in a lovely, quiet part of the city, so once the noisy private party left the premises, it was very peaceful.

This is the good about it. The bad was a shower that leaked water out the door, a room cleaned half heartedly with the last guest's clothing left in the shower, and a bottle of water they partially drank opened. A broken air conditioning that actually happened for all guests, and this morning, a leaking ceiling in the bathroom no less! Good room but bad bones in the building need to be addressed.

Something happened in the last year. We stayed there and found it to be cold, unfriendly and over-priced. The staff was very business-like with little friendliness. The room was no bigger than a shoebox, and there wasn't even a place to set our luggage. This place is not the same friendly place where we stayed last year. To be fair, part of the problem was "Booking" dot com. We booked 95% of the trip through this site - and ALL their reservations say that the rooms are for 2 people. When we arrived at this hotel, they said that we did not book for two people - we only booked for one. That is patently false. Booking dot com does a horrible job of keeping people informed - but that's a different story. Needless to say, we are never staying here again. The problems with Booking dot com didn't force the staff to be cold and unfriendly - nor did they push us into an over-priced postage stamp of a room right next to the busy street. It's really too bad, and I'm heartbroken that this place is nothing like it was last year. Scratch them off your list if you were thinking about staying here!

I'm between a 3.5 and a 4 here. Let me start by saying I would definitely stay here again -- so…read moremost of my review will be some tips/suggestions if you choose to stay here. Before the tips, here are the things I appreciated: 1. Staff gets 5 stars. Everyone was lovely and helpful. 2. Loved their morning breakfast and little breakfast room. 3. The location can't be beat -- it's not "downtown," and so it's super quiet (usually -- I'll come back to that) both during the day and at night. So, a few things to consider: 1. Check in with the hotel ahead of time to see whether they're still under construction. The air was out, and the first room I was put into didn't have a window -- it had a hatch that opened into the air shaft. I'm too claustrophobic for that, but if you are really looking just for a place to hang your hat at the end of the day, maybe that won't be an issue for you. 2. If you can afford it, get a premium room with a balcony. When I had to switch rooms the only one available was on the top floor, and the view was amazing. I actually did spend a day mostly in the room working, and with the beautiful weather, I could be outside. A few things to keep in mind, though, is that while there is an elevator, it only goes to the 5th floor. So if stairs are an accessibility issue, a 6th floor room is out for you. 3. It's a non-smoking hotel -- but at around 2:30 in the morning my last night there, I was overwhelmed by cigarette smoke from the hallway. I looked out and couldn't tell whether it was another hotel guest or some work people who were doing a later night shift, but it kept me up for the rest of the night. If you're sensitive to cigarette smoke, I'd recommend making that clear when you reserve. I opened the door to the balcony which helped bring in some fresh air, so again, so glad I had that option! All that aside, the bathroom was awesome; I found the room comfortable and bright. Even with the few bumps I had, I definitely would return.

This hotel is listed in tourism guides as a two star hotel. By American standards, this is BETTER…read morethan a two star hotel. In the US, at two star hotels, I expect stinky hallways, dirty rooms, and an overall depressing experience-- not so here! This hotel is very very clean, smells like home, and has a bright, cheerful breakfast area. It is located conveniently across the street from a grocery store, as well as near public buses, and taxis. If you are going to stay with a romantic partner, be sure to reserve a room with a two person bed, otherwise you might find yourself with two twins pushed together. The hotel does not offer complimentary coffee or tea, and it is not possible to get coffee or tea until breakfast is served at 7 am. There are no coffee makers in guest rooms, and guests are not allowed to use small appliances in the rooms. While most people do not want or need coffee until 7 am, for early risers like us, this was a bit annoying. Breakfast was 10 euros a day when we stayed there, and that included capuccino, espresso, American coffee, tea and sweet and savory continental breakfast items.
