A Lotta good that did. 3...apparently a change was made in my delivery person a while back. & that service now equals their customer service. 4...that "service" now includes: my paper in the driveway 30 feet from my front door, soaked thru & thru when it rains..( paper & me) rendering it worthless, all this despite the fact that I have an R.G. box for the newspaper to be placed in. I read complaints this newspaper is ridiculous. I can affirm that sentiment is true having subscribed two different times to this newspaper. Firstly, the journalism is written on a third-grade level. Plus, all the articles are just copied from other local newspapers and USA TODAY. The delivery issues are a whole other complaint. In short, the papers are wet and late and most times undelivered. The customer service says nothing about it but we can credit your account. I don't want a " credit " I want my daily newspaper. Do not subscribe to this lousy excuse for local journalism. Just watch the TV as it will give you better news a hundred times over. If you do call customer service, be prepared to talk to someone in India or the Philippines. I needed help with my late husband's pension plan. could not get through their phone triage. no help from anyone in any department in spite of the fact i am supposed to meet him there today at noon. nobody would get off their chairs or transfer me to anyone who would know. they slammed the phone on me in customer service and other departments. they don't care if i starve. they are unethical, irresponsible and deliberately blocking my late husband's pension since he died in July. this is October 16th. if i call them what i think of them here, the review won't get posted. I need to add that today I went to the R-G, by appointment, to see Rob Ness, the pension representative, located at the old R-G building. He was hostile and called me a liar because I had told him I could not come for an appointment tomorrow (Tuesday) because I would have no driver. (I am 77 with multiple disabilities.) Tomorrow I have to take my car for repair and have no one to drive me. In the appointment, Mr. Ness ACCUSED ME OF BEING A LIAR AND DIDN'T BELIEVE I WAS DISABLED. I have a legal disabled status (MULTIPLE NON-VISIBLE DISABILITIES!) with the State of Oregon, was parked (with the State permit) in a disabled parking space, and my doctor leaves it up to me to decide when I feel well enough to drive as my medical problem is intermittent. Mr. Ness was unpleasant, unprofessional, and demeaned my late husband (whom he said he had known) and was DEAD WRONG IN CALLING ME A LIAR. Delivery of this sub-par newspaper is abysmal. I subscribed for the Sunday edition and every other week or so I would not get a paper. So, I call and the paper will get there by the time I have no longer any time to spare to read it that day. This happened several times and finally I had enough and cancelled it all together. Do not use this paper after the family paper was sold to US TODAY corporation it is worthless 2 sections only, and they stopped Saturday paper. The delivery people throw the paper wherever. We have had the Register Guard delivery for over 30 years. As of the last 3 months, sometimes it shows up other times not here until 11:30 am., or not at all. Who wants to read a 3 day old paper? My husband called many times but with no improvements. Customer service said we had cancelled it, he didn't. What customer service NOT! Since it was bought out the newspaper has gone down hill. BEWARE. Be careful signing up for digital subscription. I did last year and then wanted to cancel as my renew date was today. I sent SEVERAL EMAILS stating to cancel with NO RESPONSE back. I went online and tried to cancel. IT won't let you, you have to call their 800#! I did and was told we can't cancel, you have to call your bank /Visa and dispute the charges. I think that is ABSURD. Waste of my time! I will NOT buy this paper again! Nor do I like their way of doing business. I also asked person on phone to remove all credit card info as NO future charges wanted, he stated he had NO way of doing that either! I have found the R.G. has been very helpful - trying to accommodate. A few reasons I like my paper put in my clip, frisky cat that LOVES the outdoors, and because of arthritis, can't bend down well. They try hard, even when carrier's change. Nothing but praise here, from me. read more

I ordered Sunday delivery service for the coupons in early October of 2017. Service was spotty. I sleep in on weekends so too late to call. I'm busy during the week. I got a call from sales in January and the girl said...huh it looks like you haven't received the paper since November. I told her I'm a busy person and regret i subscribed because delivery randomly stopped the previous time i subscribed. I called and left a message to have it cancelled. Noticed in February it wasn't cancelled and left another message. In March I left a message for a cancellation and refund. I got a call back from a nice lady who said she would submit it. Then i get a call back from a rude regional lady who said i wouldn't get a refund because SHE never received a message. Where is it that they post this lady's contact info to ensure you will receive a refund if things go south? She then tried to be nice and said she would like to resolve this and was sure she could work with the delivery person. I told her this is my second time around and I don't care how i get it. I'm not picky. Fling it. Leave it in a puddle. Just give me what i paid for but twice now they have shown they can't do that so no thank you... please refund and cancel. She said she doesn't have anything that verifies i wasn't getting deliveries. I told her the sales department seems to have that info and then it went round and round. She said again "well I never got a message". 15 minute call. No refund. $84 for six months and maybe 4-6 weeks of Sunday paper delivery. Good luck to those that use them! read more
