We arrived at Studio Elite right around 11:30 AM and there were 7 or 8 of us that were getting made up. The owner of the studio met us at the front door and ushered us in to one of the larger rooms in her salon, where she'd set out a spread of cinnamon buns, homemade chicken salad sandwiches, water and lemonade and other goodies for us to nibble on as we waited our turn. It was so nice. And the whole experience was a lot of fun - women just sitting around talking and gossiping about anything and everything as we took turns. When she got to my hair, I told her to do whatever she saw fit with it (it's naturally very curly), and so she tamed it in the front with a flat iron then pinned it up in the back with several hundred bobby pins making it into one of those artfully messy updos that are so stylish and impossible to recreate on your own. It looked sensational. The best part was that at the wedding that night I was one of the few whose hair had stayed where it was originally styled (many of my straight-haired friends had lost some of the volume and curl they'd had hours earlier). I had to go to a different salon to get the mess corrected. I wouldn't recommend anyone to go. At least not until she has some more training. The left photo was taken at the salon I went to immediately after (1 hour after color) my color by Ealissa. I'm sure you can understand why I didn't want her to correct it. You can see the terrible quality by the supposed "master colorist". The second photo is the inspiration photo I showed Ealissa. No where close.
