I asked why not the entire amount and was told that it's because shared branching is a curtesy. I then tried to call my actual bank to get my member # but was on hold for a ridiculous amount of time. A lady walked in wanting to exchange her change and was unhappy with the percentage they were going to charge her for this service. I offered to buy her quarters off of her. It was during this transaction that the manager decided to go ahead and exchange $20 for me. I don't understand why it is so difficult to get quarters.

They ignored me for the first few minutes in the building as two tellers counted money and didn't look up. Finally another came out from the back and told me they didn't accept the coins. I was specifically told they did. When I said the bank provided bad information and bad service, the teller argued with me. As long as they are friendly, she said, it's good service. Finally the manager appeared and told me that the other branch was wrong and they could do nothing. He said it wasn't their fault. After some back and forth, he took my debit card and looked up my account. Why? He then said that they would direct me to a Coinstar machine. I have two sizable accounts here, but as soon as I move out of this city, I will be closing them. This bank is full of poorly trained people.

The tellers are always courteous and even if the lines are long, they move quickly as it seems that everyone has their "you know what" together. The bank, like most businesses in the French Quarter, is located in a building that is older than all of it's customers. It is an architectural design that is unlike any other banks seen outside of New Orleans. Check out the vaulted (arched) ceiling and you'll see what I'm I'm talking about. Chase bank's app and signage in their branches really try to position them as a bank for the common person. But their emphasis on "private clients" - who apparently have more status than the "common man" - and their emphasis on "wealth management" give me concern that they actually are primarily a bank for rich people Today Tenesha offered me a perfect combination of very polished and professional presence with natural friendliness. She told me that she is beginning to move from simply being a cashier to also being a banker. I like the model at Chase that has people switching up roles. I could see her being a wonderful banker. When I asked to get the card for one of their bankers, so that I would have personal numbers to call when the 800 number lets me down - as it has on occasion - she gave me the card of Jennifer Martin. I am going to be in New Orleans for another two or three months and have business dealings in the Audubon Park neighborhood.
