It's a more intimate type setting great for couples, girlfriends or family. The vibe cannot be explained but should be experienced. We have always been greeted with a smile when walking in the door and the staff is welcoming, attentive and friendly. The cocktails are phenomenal, and there are always stellar wine choices on the menu. Recently, they have begun to do "off-menu" tasting events (every other Sunday) where the chef chooses a selection of courses that you are surprised with upon arrival. The food has been nothing short of phenomenal, incredibly creative and memorable. They also offer a wine pairing with these meals which takes out a lot of guesswork for us wine newbies in trying to figure out what wine to pair with each course. There were also shrimp in the dish with almost a Mozambique type sauce. The sauce itself was very good. I like spicy dishes so my only suggestion is I would have like it spicier. I could have used a couple of dashes of hot sauce. My entree was the cacio Pepe which was a decent sized portion and nice amount of pepper for a good taste. The atmosphere is rustic and casual. There is a bar which was surprisingly empty most of the night. The tables are very packed in and close. Not much room to walk around. My only complaint was our waiter also seemed to be the bartender. Took us at least 20 minutes to have our drink order taken. Another 20 minutes to get our food order in. Overall a good experience, but I wouldn't classify this as an intimate date night place for quiet conversation.

We enjoyed a bottle of Chianti that paired perfectly with dinner. I had the Aragosta 998 (lobster capellini), and the sauce was incredible. The portion was generous and easily provided leftovers for the next day. My fiancé ordered the filet with gorgonzola fondue, which was absolutely fantastic. We dined around 8 PM, and the atmosphere was lively and energetic. It was quite busy and a bit loud for a Wednesday night, but that's to be expected during Saratoga's peak racing season when the city is full of visitors.
