The initial office visit was very rushed and with minimal layman term discussion about condition and treatment plan. The visit felt very rushed and end result of the initial visit was the need for an injection under anesthesia. The appointment was made for the injection with minimal patient instruction and a wait of time for the injection with no advice on how to control or minimize the pain and discomfort. The day of the injection is a mid day appointment and with no clear patient instruction or guidance we show up for the appointment after lunch and are turned away because lunch was eaten and no preparations were made for anesthesia by the office. During this visit the staff would not permit the caregiver to join the 96 year old patient instruction the exam room. The injection was rescheduled for a week later again without recommendations for pain management. It's been a week of intolerable pain and now time for the long awaited injection under anesthesia. The appointment was made mid day again because the office staff said this was the only appointment. Fasting all day, avoiding medications as directed and arriving before the procedure. Things are looking positive until the front desk ask for money that nobody made us aware of for this appointment. We ask to be billed so the appointment does not need to be rescheduled and the office resists emphasizing that we knew about the need for payment; we were definitely not made aware of the needed payment. To prevent a rescheduling of this long awaited injection appointment for hopeful relief of the intolerable pain we obtain payment. Thinking that everything was well and the injection is finally going to get done, we wait to be called to the back and then after they take the payment for the anesthesia they say anesthesia can not be done, only a local can be done. Any facility that treats a 96 year old patient with this disregard is not worthy of business from Medicare patients.
