Incredibly peaceful space with nice locker rooms and gender-divided saunas and steam rooms. There are also mixed-gender amenities plus a hot tub, which is nice for couples traveling together. The staff was all kind, helpful, and very accommodating to our needs-- including the hotel lobby staff, even though we didn't stay at the hotel. I had an 80 minute deep tissue with Luke was wonderful. He was very focused and customized the treatment to my body as he went. read more

I had the full body 80 min Agave Honey Butter. It was great! My skin is so dry due to winter. Lilly ( sorry I don't remember) did a great job. It felt great. I would highly recommend. This is a lovely, lovely spa, run by extremely kind people. In addition to being a spa for guests at the hotel, locals can purchase a monthly membership. Upon entering this sanctuary, a comfy robe and slippers are provided on request. The locker rooms are plush and well set up with tons of clean towels and body products, and the showers are fantastic, with lots of hot water! Speaking of hot water, there is a HUGE hot jacuzzi tub, plus a dry and wet sauna, AND a large, clean work out space in the back with treadmills, stationary bikes etc... This is a pretty sweet spot to workout and immerse in hot spaces, especially during the Maine winter... Oh, and I think I forgot to mention that when using the spa, there is valet parking! read more

I took my wife to Portland Me to celebrate her birthday this past weekend. We made reservations at the Regency Hotel and Spa and when doing so we were told there was only one room left, a king suite for $620 plus taxes and fees. When we arrive at the hotel the person at the desk told me it was not a suite and it was not the last room available. We were very disappointed the room, it was very small and very average. Certainly not worth the total of $680 for one night. The next day we decided to have breakfast and leave, Breakfast was ordered and came, service was fine but the meal was awful. Eggs were over cooked, the toast were cold and dry, and the hash was inedible. Not much of a breakfast for $55 including tip. In all of this not one person asked how the meal was or if everything was Okay. Nor when we checked out, not one hotel employee inquired how our stay was or if we were satisfied. I don't mind paying for something but there must be value there. No value here, very disappointed. Do not think we would ever go back. read more

Well, I have heard of a touchless car wash and now we have a touchless Spa treatment. My young therapist was extremely new to this business and unfortunately, did not give a very good massage at all. Zero personal connection, no pressure what so ever and it felt like she was reading a "how to manual" during the entire session. Speaking of the "entire session", she cut my 50 minute massage short by 7 minutes (at $2.40 per minute) so I cut her gratuity by $17 off the customary 20%). Anything positive to add you ask? The reservation and check in process were flawless and your grandmother will love the ambiance. read more

Went here for a couples massage on my honeymoon... AMAZING!! The jacuzzi tub was so nice and we had it entirely to ourselves. The massage itself was really good, the tables were nice & warm. My masseuse had really good pressure and a nice flow. We might be coming back before our trip ends. If looking for a spa in Portland, you should definitely check this place out. read more

Recently stayed here for the Portland Half Marathon weekend! From the moment of my Uber pulling up to the moment my Uber picked me up, this establishment upheld the kindest, warmest and most welcoming environment. It's incredibly walkable around the city! The rooms have a bed and breakfast feel with an old school key to the room. The soap in the shower smells close to a high end perfume of rosebuds. The Armory Lounge was a fun environment with a mixture of locals and other guests. The bartender was very kind and attentive to my dietary restrictions (vegetarian). Being young and staying at the place alone, I felt safe and secure at regency. The spa was wonderful post half marathon (see photos). The gym was also great! Inside felt a little like a cruise ship, but being from Florida I found that to be fun! The front desk staff were very personal, helpful and fun. 10/10 would recommend! If I sign up for the full in October, I'm definitely rebooking with Regency! read more

I have had several massages at the Regency, two of which while I was pregnant and experiencing sciatica-like pain. They are so attentive and give the most wonderful massages! Today, I had a 50 minute massage with Fiona and it was one of the best I can ever remember. I wanted to stay all day. Her scalp/neck massage was nothing short of heaven. I also love the atmosphere and that you can use the hot tub and steam room and sauna during your visit. Thank you for being so consistent! read more

My husband and I went here back in April for a couples' massage. He had the gentleman's massage, which came with a great back scrub, and I had the Regency Massage, which came with hot stone treatment. Pro: Great massage, friendly staff. Definitely deserves the four stars. Con: SUPER dated building. I know it's in an historic hotel (and has the rules and regulations that go along with that sort of thing), but the interior was in serious, serious need of a face lift (or three). I've had several massages at the Regency spa. My experience has always been great. My only complaint is that the waiting area is in a strange spot. I prefer a "calming room" or a secluded space to wait in before treatments. The waiting area is right beside the elevators and I felt a little awkward sitting in my robe waiting for my treatment with other guys and maintenance passing through. Beside that the locker room has a calm and relaxing vibe and the treatments I've received have always been great. read more

I found the Regency Spa to be rather dated, with run of the mill spa treatments, heavily synthetic products, a dark basement location and hit or miss therapists. I've had many lackluster treatments here over the years, most recently a cardamom massage that smelled like straight men's cologne. And that's kind of always the issue - the treatments lack a holistic approach, uniqueness or inspiration. Everything is heavily fragranced with unnatural aromas and I always leave feeling that this is really an old lady from Falmouth's kind of spa. read more

The Spa at the Regency exceeded my expectations. Everyone was super friendly at check in and the spa is small and nice with a jacuzzi, showers and sauna. They were able to accommodate three of us massages at the last moment and all three of us were really happy with the service. Cheyenne was my massage therapist and she did a phenomenal job. The Spa at the Regency is the absolute best part of the hotel. When you enter the spa you are greeted and offered cucumber water and a comfortable waiting area. Locker rooms, sauna, hot tub, etc and be used before or after your service and are clean, equipped and stocked for everything from relaxation to showering/ changing afterwards. Also lockers have keypads with code that you will create for yourself. The services are all wonderful. And the staff is inviting and accommodating to anything you may want or need during your time there. My husband and I make a point to enjoy a couple's massage when we visit, and are never disappointed. The 2 blondes that run the salon, clearly care so much about their staff and most importantly their guests, and that shines through every time we visit. They are always buzzing around and checking on everyone and it's clear they are the heart of the place and why it is so successful. I truly hope the hotel see's what a gem this spa truly is for Portland and their hotel. read more

Absolutely loved our experience at the spa!! My boyfriend and I went for my birthday. He got the 80 minute gentleman's massage and I got the 80 minute blushing honey agave massage, as a couples massage. I had Jenny and she was amazing!! The massage was so relaxing, my skin felt so soft after, and the tension in my neck was gone! The amenities were also very nice and products for sale were top notch. I was able to buy the same serum used during my massage. My boyfriend loved the gentleman's massage and said it was amazing for lower back pain. My girlfriend and I came here for a girls day out yesterday. The spa was way more than we could have hoped for. You go to the lower level of the hotel and are greeted by a basic reception area with the elevators right behind you. House keeping goes up and down fetching towels. After checking in you are brought back to the sanctuary. This room had a few comfy chairs, a lovely water feature, hot tea and iced tea water. Attached to that was the true gem. A full locker room. We were given bathrobes, sandals and told that we had full use of the sauna, steamroom, showers and jacuzzi. Our therapists came back to get us and brought us back to very lovely rooms. My only complaints about the massages 1: My bed wasn't heated and the room was quite chilly. 2: I wish they gave you the option of turning down the lights. The room was a bit to bright for me to really relax. The massage itself was relaxing. We will come back and definitely make a full day of this spa. A big plus- If getting spa treatments you get complimentary Valet Parking. read more

Went over the weekend with my girlfriend for a couples massage. I had Samantha and she had Cynthia (I believe). We found the spa great and extremely relaxing but highlight was definitely the massage.
