This theater feels like it's holding on by threads, but there are still some bright spots. The staff are genuinely friendly and provide great service, which makes a big difference. And who goes to the movies without getting popcorn? I was pleasantly surprised to see they had caramel popcorn--you can smell it as soon as you walk in. That said, the theater is definitely older. The reclining seats show a lot of wear, and it's clear it's a shadow of what it used to be. When I went, there were only about eight other people in the theater, so it was quiet but also a little empty. Overall, it's not my first choice for seeing a movie, but if the film I want is only playing here, I'd still go and chalk it up for the convenience. read more

The whole time in the chair I was scratching like bugs or lice was in the chair, cup holders not in chairs or broken, recliners broken, hardly any lights on in the parking lot. Would not bring my dog here much less my family. Also when buying tickets it shows only a few seats available however in our movie there was only 8 people in it so there was way more seats available. I visited this theater for a private showing of The Color Purple which was simply AMAZING! A few months back my boyfriend and I visited and I was sorely disappointed. The parking lot looks like a slight upgrade from the movie I am Legend. It's dark with overgrown weeds and trees, which some are covering the existing parking lot lighting. When you walk in, there's nobody to greet you, and also no kiosk to purchase tickets. You have to stand in line with everyone else including those in line for concessions. With the price of movie tickets, you'd expect this not to be a thing. Fortunately since it was a private showing, we already had tickets, however I stood in line for popcorn which took nearly 30 minutes with only 2 other guests in front of me who each walked away with 2 medium popcorns and 2 drinks. Another gentleman was quite annoyed and voiced his frustration about having to stand in the same line as concessions to purchase tickets stating how ridiculous it was and I agree. Once seated, the leather like seats were old, worn and peeling terribly. It was so bad, my friend who had on a white sweater, had pieces of the fabric all over the back of her sweater. I probably won't visit this theater unless free or until upgrades are done. Regal really needs to step up their game! read more

I bought nachos and placed them on the empty seat next to me. Minutes later, a rat crawled onto my nachos and then ran away. I was mortified and felt unsafe and disgusted! This used to be my favorite theater to go to by four things started to go down a few years ago and I hadn't been since. I decided to give it another shot today. The only thing good about the experience is we enjoyed the movie the popcorn and the soda the seats were horrible! I'm given a 2 because the staff was friendly, but this theater need major updates. My seat was broken didn't recline, others in my group had a broken seat and had to go to a different seat. Now I remember why I stopped going. Outrageous food prices, not to mention being forced to sit for at least 20 previews. The movie was supposed to start at 2:50. It started at 3:15. I was in sticker shock at 20$ plus for popcorn, drink. I wanted a Paddington popcorn tin, there were three. I was told I could not buy one of those until three plastic ones for sale had already sold. Well so by the time I got out of the movie I wasn't feeling like spending the money for a tin of popcorn. I'd just had it. So I guess you could say $75 for three people for a movie was not too bad but only two of those people had food, nachos and a drink. read more

Don't. Just....don't. What a terrible theatre. It's sad, old and tired. The seats were coming apart, and the theatre was dirty. Garbage everywhere on a Saturday night. Someone finally came to clean just as the movie was starting. Add to that, no way to dry your hands in the men's room (both dryers broken, no towels). When I told the staff this, they looked at me like I had three heads. When I laughed and said "this is a janky theatre," the staff person said "I know." I went 11/19/19 to see Joker in Auditorium 13. The only reason I didn't give this one star is because the employees were all very nice. Also, delicious popcorn! Seats are really comfy and recline further than the ones at AMC. So comfy! However, all those things are extras. The main reason you go to the movies is to watch a movie. The middle of the screen is a weird bright spot. The weird spot is brighter than the rest of the screen and lower resolution. And it's dead center of the screen. Terribly distracting and definitely negatively impacted my movie watching ability. Also, the bright white LEDS lighting the floor were distracting. They were way too bright. If they must be that bright, they should probably consider a different color or shielding them from shining onto the seated patrons. Bonus: moths flying around the theater to further distract you from the movie. I saw other commented on those things but I assumed they were isolated to one auditorium. The food lines are long. They never have enough help at concessions. My last 2 visits have included some kind of flying insects in the theatre. Today but movie shut off as the plot was taking off. They turned audio back on but not video because no one bothered to check if it was on correctly. I think I'm done with the Grand. read more

It's people like John, the bartender, that make everlasting impressions! For starters, John was so nice and so welcoming when we came to bar while we waited for our movie to start. We had the pleasure of watching John make the Blue Lagoon, and we could tell we were about to get the drink of our life! While the drink was AMAZING, what made our experience so special is how genuine and awesome John was. He talked to us the entire time and made us feel like valued guests, even in such a short amount of time! The facility is very nice and the lounge chairs are soooo comfy! This new movie theatre was much needed. They tore down the old Hollywood Cinema and built The Grand in the same location. Kenner really has never had a nice place to watch a movie. Your choices back in the 80s, 90s, and the past decade were strictly older movie theatres that sometimes only had one screen or had uncomfortable seats. The end of 2013 brought Kenner's movie theatre options into the 21st century. The Grand seems a tad small but it is very comparable to the AMC Clearview Palace in number of screens and concession options. The seats now are way more luxe than the shabby seats that the former cinema had. Overall this is a clean and comfortable place to watch a movie. Plus it's not overrun by tons of teens so your movie experience will probably be a lot more enjoyable if you come here. read more

I visit this theater at least twice monthly. This was my first experience in the Dolby Digital Theater. I viewed the Equalizer the effects were amplified on this screen which sits approximately three stories high. I was seated on the lower level which was a great view. The upper level requires a person to two levels of stairs depending on were you are seated. The offer traditional movie snacks and candy. There is also a full service bar available. read more

The Grand is one of 3 movie theaters in East Jefferson and the 1st to have the reclining faux leather seats that the other 2 began copy catting. The chairs are larger than most theaters that I have been in so when you are watching a terrible movie like Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom, you can nap comfortably. They have reserve seating so you don't have to arrive 30 minutes before the previews start to get a decent seat. They have a small bar that has a decent amount of liquor bottles, 8 beers on tap plus I think daiquiris. The beer selection is larger than expected but you won't find the newest double IPA. The food selection is embarrassingly bad. While AMC has upgraded their food this theater is stuck in 1988. Popcorn, nachos in a bag with crappy processed cheese, candy and that's about it. This theater is a lot less busy than the other 2 so you can usually find a seat for the latest blockbuster. They have a room to have birthday parties that I'm sure includes packages to see a movie. read more

I won't be going to this theater again. Although I liked the reclining seats, the bars in front of the seats are so high that they obstruct your view of the screen. It's pretty much cut the screen in half. It really took us out of the movie. I couldn't completely see over the bar even in the fully sitting position. Very poor planning and design. read more

Holy amazeballs! Seats that almost fully recline to where your almost laying flat! Small-ish theater sizes! HUGE screens! There was a uniformed Kenner police officer standing in the lobby when my friend and I arrived recently, which is a nice addition. The officer was standing in front when we left just about midnight, which was also nice. The theater that was on the other side of the parking lot was horribly rundown, most of the seats broken, questionable people hanging around. The new theater is closer to the mall, but you don't have to go in the mall to get to the movie theater. There is plenty of parking. Everything was easy, from the purchase of tickets, to the concession stand to getting in the theater. The restrooms were neat and clean. There were far too many people in the restroom this past visit for me to take a picture, because that is weird when others are around. But, just believe me when I say that when I went to a showing at 9:25 in the evening, there was still toilet paper in the stall! This is worth the trek all of the way out to Kenner Brah to see a movie here. And plenty of restaurants nearby to eat before or after. Easy access to I-10 to get back to the city. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is the fact that there were people using their cell phones during the movie, which is distracting. Otherwise, everything was clean! read more

Our favorite go to theater in the area. Always clean and friendly employees. If you go during the week, there is not many people in there. Sometimes you are the only one in the movie. So let me start by explaining that movies are my jam. The boyfriend and I go every Sunday religiously unless a holiday or other circumstances may prevent us. We normally go to AMC but today was the last time we will be going to one of their establishments. Due to a discrepancy between an employees version of their ticket policy and the actual ticket policy we ended up losing two tickets we had paid for to see the accountant. I am a bit of a bish when it comes to my hard earned money and I am easily able to write of a place and never go back without batting an eye. Two friends of mine told us about The Grand but we just kinda blew it off because it was further away and we quite honestly didn't think it would be much of a difference. WELLLLLLLLLL, WE WERE WRONG!!! This place is freaking amazing and worth the extra miles to get here. They have a rewards program too so that's awesome for frequent fliers such as we. The chairs are so large I watched the movie laying on my side like I would at home on my couch... HOW? you may be wondering well it's because they are ALL oversized electrically reclining seats with ample personal space... Need to get up and go pee or refill your drink? No problem because the walking space between rows are about 3 ft wide so that even if the foot rests are reclined you can still get through easily without disturbing others enjoying the movie. Icee on the cake (I went there) is they have my favorite icee flavor BANANA! They also have a full bar with a good amount of daiquiri machines. The place is clean! Do yourself a favor and just try it out once! You will not regret it ! ADIOS AMC! read more

Since this theatre is near my house, I come here whenever I want to see any movie. I love the fact that there is a bar, so I can mellow out even more in the reclining chairs. Another cool thing is that of all the times I've been here, the theater has been clean, as well as the restrooms. At least on two occasions, I was at the late night showings, and the restrooms were still rather clean. That is a plus! I haven't had a bad experience here, and I love the fact that there are decent restaurants near the theatre. read more

Yay! I had always wanted to check out Grand Theater and I got my chance when we came to see Batman vs. Superman here. I love the comfy reclining seats that make you feel like you are basically at home in your living room (with a bunch of strangers, in the dark). Everything was clean and there wasn't popcorn or old candy wrappers strewn about, so that's a "W" in my book. I'm usually not one to mention bathrooms in a review, but the ones here were perfect! Everything was neat, clean and well taken care of. This theater is definitely worth the drive if you are looking for an experience that is a little more special than your usual movie night. read more

Best cinema seats in the metro New Orleans area! Product: Movies on the big screen and snacks! The movies are the most recent, on the whole, and the snacks are typical for a cinema---popcorn, icee, Sno-caps, etc., etc. Typical high mark up on snacks, but to be expected. 3 stars Service: Really durn good. I didn't find getting tickets or order food to take an excessive amount of time. The worst part was the wait on other, indecisive customers. 4 stars Facilities: This stand alone building is near a mall, but not in it. Parking is ample and an easy walk to the cinema. Bathrooms, along with the rest of the building in and out were spotless. Each screening room is monstrous, with top-notch reclining, wide seats with cup holders. You seriously won't find a better seat in the area, not even at Canal Place. 5 stars Overall: If this place were in New Orleans proper, I'd go a lot more often. This theatre is close to home which is convenient. They are comparable on price to other movie theaters near us. Their concession is really good. The popcorn is delicious. When they first opened their popcorn was awful, but they have obviously changed over. The movies are always up to date & they best thing about this place is the reclining chairs. The Grand Theatre has changed just a bit since the last time I was there. You actually reserve your seats either by buying online or by picking them at the ticket window. At first I thought - Hmm, reserved seating, that's a pain - BUT it's actually pretty cool because it allows you to know exactly where you'll be sitting prior to walking into the theatre. Also if you know in advance and book online, you can get the seats you want instead of guessing and being stuck in the front row. Win-win.
