I thought it was amusing that a review I read about this theater claimed that the popcorn was stale. My wife and I watched a movie here on a Thursday night. When I went to concession to get some popcorn, I noticed that the popcorn had already been loaded into buckets. Who knows how long it has been sitting there. But, darn it, it was stale! Good place to catch new movies. They have decent sized screens not big if you prefer big screen. If you book here, don't take back row seats as their screen is smaller. Good seats. Nice concession stands with veg snack options. There is plenty of parking lot !! read more

I was excited to come here in the middle of the week on one of my days off to watch HTTYD 3 in the IMAX theater. But for a $20 ticket price, I was honestly expecting more. I had to move seats a few times before the movie started as I found sticky residue on surfaces I wasn't expecting. And the seats weren't all that comfortable. They look like recliners but are not, and we're so stiff my tailbone was sore by the end of the film. At least the movie played smoothly, and the theater was nearly completely empty. I probably won't be coming here again. Sure there's popcorn and other snacks, but the Exton Movie Tavern is closer, more affordable, and serves actual food and drinks (of the alcoholic variety). Though IMAX is this Regal's one redeeming factor over MT, it needs a serious facelift. read more

As usual early is the best time to see the movies. However, with this theatre check with the box office about the formatting of the film you're about to see. I recently visited to see Wonder Woman. Online on Fandango and Regal's own web | app stated that the viewing I wanted to see was in standard format, however the theatre told a different story and I had no choice but to see it in 3D (I hate 3D movies!! ‍ I look like such a dork wearing TWO pairs of glasses: my own and the 3D pair) Theatre was clean and well kept. read more

I enjoy going here. I noticed they started replacing some of the seats that were wore down, appreciate the investment back into the theatre.

When I made reservations for a movie, I thought I was making them for the Downingtown location. When I got to the Downingtown, regal cinema the manager, Kevin, told me the tickets I purchased were for the Wilmington, Delaware location. My granddaughter and I were very disappointed because we knew we weren't going to get to the Wilmington theater on time to see the movie. But Kevin made everything OK. He made it so we could see a different movie at the Downingtown theater right then. So our day was not ruined. All because of the manager, Kevin. He saved the day. Regal, however, does need to redo the way you select movies for certain theaters. It's confusing. read more

This regal theater is convenient & I like the reclining seats. If you go to Regal app to get your ticket you have to pay a convenience fee, which is $2 more for a weekend show. Also, to buy a medium soda, the price was $6.95 & soda didn't taste right. I have learned to bring ear plugs because it is so loud you end up with headache. Person serving food was helpful, but didn't have spicy chicken sandwich so my grandson said he would get a cheeseburger- nope, no rolls! read more

Important volume awareness: we saw two movies, one standard and the other IMAX. In both movies the volume was piercingly loud, even for a movie theater. We noticed that during especially loud cracks everyone around us would shutter. I can't come back because I won't enjoy the movie or be able to pay attention if I'm trying to shield my ears. My wife and I are not old people just complaining, we are in our twenties and most others around us were as well. The standard screen is actually quite small and if you don't pick a seat in the first few rows it will feel very underwhelming. But it did have reclining seats. Ironically the IMAX was a great screen size but no reclining seats...yet the tickets cost a lot more. read more

I've been to this theater multiple times the ticketing service, lobby, arcade games, concession stand all looks good. Have enough staff to handle the crowd on busy days. To my view they always have a nice collection of movies and showtimes are reasonable. You can make online reservations also seating. This also futures futures Indian movies for special occasions. The one thing that II wish the theater upgrades is there seating otherwise all is good with this place read more

I only gave you 5 stars because I am very sorry and need to apologize. When the movie wonder was out in the theatre I went to see it. I had a sprite and popcorn. Once the movie finished I picked up my sprite and started walking. I tripped and spilled it all over the floor. I am very sorry for whoever had to clean that up. This is a nice large theatre that has reserved seating when you buy the tickets. It looks like most regal theaters, had normal high food prices, updated amenities, and was clean. This one had 9 theaters I believe. The seats reclined and were sooooo comfortable! I came from philly and they don't have any movie theaters like this in the city. read more

Regal Downingtown is the best theatre around IMO - ever since the upgraded to reclining leather seats. I've seen countless movies here for over 5 years. I've seen normal, IMAX, and IMAX 3D. I've seen action movies and dramas, comedies and classics. Regal is still supreme. The only thing that is bad is something unanimous in all theaters - the prices of the food! I never get anything there, I just "smuggle" food in. But anyways, if you are in desperate need of a movie theatre or just browsing Yelp aimlessly, go check out Regal Downingtown for sure. I'll be back to see the new Star Wars movie, too! read more

This movie theatre is always clutch! Literally 2 miles from the house with plenty of restaurants to dine before or after the movie. The place is always clean and the customer service remains sharp. This is your less crowded theater. No riffraff. read more

$5 for a 20 oz cup of water!?!? Cmon Regal. Is a free cup of water with my $9 popcorn is too much to ask? Your new seats are nice, not as nice as the Movie Tavern but at least your trying. I'm not sure if the 3D glasses you use are your choice but they are absolutely awful and practically ruin the movie. They squeeze your head with hard uncomfortable plastic and smudge very easily. I'd much rather pay less and not watch in IMAX 3D. I wouldn't of even written this review if I had gotten a free cup of water. Movie Tavern from here on out! read more

Good evening Yelp Family!! I was excited today to come here again on Saturday, October 26th, 2019. This time the selection was "Black and Blue", starring Naomie Harris and Tyrese Gibson. This film was truly exciting - it had me on the edge of my high back recliner seat, eagerly anticipating the next move. Naomie Harris is my new Female Action Hero. This woman is a Bad Momma Jomma!!! She didn't disappoint in the least!!! Tyrese Gibson was equally as good!! I enjoyed watching the two of them immensely!!! The soundtrack was good!!! Auditorium was airy and light!! There were two females sitting right in front of us and we couldn't believe it - they talked during all of the coming attractions and they didn't shut up until the movie feature started. Out of all of the seats that they could have sat, they just had to select the ones near us!!! Unbelievable!!! Also, while the movie was playing, one of the young ladies kept pulling out her phone. Amazing!! This never ceases to amaze me, why people spend their money to see a movie and end up staring at their phone instead!! Anyway, I ignored them once the movie started and it was only when I noticed them was when they pulled out the phone, since it was lit up!! Our barrel of popcorn was huge and it didn't disappoint us!! It seemed like the barrel was larger than the one we had for Gemini Man with Will Smith. We finished the entire barrel!!! We were sitting in Auditorium 3 with seats I 8-10. We practically had the entire room to ourselves! It pays to see movies earlier - matinee movies. We settled into our seats and our blankets - we truly made ourselves at home!!! After the movie, we headed to Dunkin Donuts which was nearby in the next shopping center over!! Overall its a typical theater- managed by folks who are not happy to be there and are not happy to be training and leading their employees to help their customers find a little happiness in spending $15-$30 per person, depending upon the food & beverage bill. While it may be rare to find cheerful, excited, enthusiastic retail managers who can quickly solve problems without losing their sense of humor, you definitely won't find that rarity here. If you're a big ticket spender and want the IMAX experience drive up to KIng Of Prussia. I am a frequent movie-goer and the IMAX here in Downingtown is a crying shame. Not only a waste of money-- but worse yet you would be forfeiting the opportunity to experience the film as it was intended. They should seriously STOP calling it IMAX and stop charging people the higher price; then that screening room would rightfully be called "the good room" because it is a little larger and nicer than the other rooms at this location. read more

Clean seats, nicer then average public bathrooms, and the food is alright. I have no problem with going to see a movie here and have been for years. Many a Star Wars movie has been seen by me here. I will continue to go unless they build one closer to me and I doubt they will. read more

I can deal with your bad staffing and rude employees ... but when my car gets hit while in the movies and you offer no help at all other then call my insurance company and pay my deductible ... No!!! I know this place has 16 or so theaters but there's something about it I don't love. The movies are the same as elsewhere but when I walk in it's just so damn overwhelming. Giant signage, tile floor like a cafeteria, neon, dark winding halls. The movie next to ours was so loud it was coming through the wall. Really it's fine, big seats with cup holders, clean, overpriced popcorn and candy, the whole deal. But I just don't love it. It's got no feel I guess, it's like a warehouse. It makes me long for the small theater with just one show, but really I'd hate that because I like options. It's just too big I suppose. Hmmm... read more

This movie theater is a typical Regal. Big theaters, comfy stadium seating, and lots of concessions. For a small town, Downingtown has a great movie theater showing choice films! My biggest issue is the price-- $12 for an evening movie? I've never seen such high prices for a movie (and that's not even including snacks). read more

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. ...MIND-BLOWING. Charged us $6.50 for an EMPTY BAG OF POPCORN. Yep, you read that correctly. After spending $30 for tickets AND $25 for popcorn/candy, they refused to give us an extra bag for my fiancée's popcorn. "She can get a courtesy tray" "Yes, but we have a Large popcorn and the trays are incredibly small, my Fiancée has a food allergy, and we'd like to split the popcorn". "No, we're not allowed" "Please? I'll give you $ for a bag, we can't use those trays." "The only way you'll get a bag is if you pay full price for an order of popcorn - that'll be $6.50." (2 staff, not just 1 employee with no common sense) Such a ridiculous policy. Not to mention, making me feel like a jerk simply bc needed an extra bag. The Good: Nice reclining seats with plenty of room. No more worry about someone kicking the back of your seat. Also, it's located in a nice little shopping center for light shopping before or after the movie. The Bad: I showed up for the first movie of the day and the theater was not as clean as it should have been, but not dirty. Also, the movie house itself is not very modern, the lobby presentation could be better. Overall, I will go again because of the location to my residence, but would prefer some place nicer. This is a true story. I went on a Saturday afternoon to buy 2 senior tickets to see "Blinded by the Light" for the 7:05 showing that evening. Wonderful movie. When we got to the theater, we went to our seats. Two other people had the same 2 seats: F1 and F2. We checked our tickets. They were dated for the NEXT Thursday. We went to see the "manager". He came out. Saw the tickets. Now, the movie has started. He goes to the screen. Yep, "Your tickets are for next Thursday. Is that when you wanted to see the movie?" Huh? We're here. Sitting in the theater. Now. "There are two tickets together in the back row." Ok. We're inconvenienced because they made the mistake of misdating the tickets. But, oh no, we had to pay, because this was a Saturday and the tickets they charged us for was on a Thursday. We had to pay, wait for it...an additional 50 cents. For our inconvenience. He had the audacity to charge us an ADDITIONAL 50 cents for their mistake. No, "We're sorry. Here's a refund. Sorry, you're missing your movie." No. No. "Pay us an additional 50 cents." Since we became Regal Club members, I have had 156,000 Regal points. Do the math. Loyalty card? I wrote to Regal and got a "we'll take it to the proper channels...marketing-speak, marketing-speak, etc." I've heard nothing. Zero. Nada. Nill. Radio silence. So, we joined Movie Tavern's loyalty club. We've seen 4 movies since our experience with Regal "We Need Money. Give us 50 cents" Cinemas. Movie Tavern is closer. Cheaper. No lines for drinks and popcorn and so far, haven't screwed up the date of "two senior tickets for TONIGHTS 7:05 showing." and they have an awesome sound system so much better than Regals. Customer Service isn't Regals' strong suit. I really don't know what is. Good luck with your experience. Spoiler alert: if they screw up, you pay up. read more

We were here today to see Black Panther and they emptied the theater before the movie started. They stated for Safety reasons. That's all. What a bummer. We got a refund and two tickets. People that are getting food for the customers don't know anything. And they are incredibly slow and unhelpful.

This theater is going downhill fast. The popcorn always tastes stale, the floors are sticky, especially in the bathrooms, and now they are the only Regal not offering the summer movie express. Do yourself a favor and go to Movie Tavern instead. It's cleaner and you get more for your money! read more

I have been to this theater to see a dozen or so films over the past two or three years, and it has always met my expectations. Yes, it is expensive, but what theater with first run movies is inexpensive? There is plenty of parking, the theater seats are comfortable, we have never been crowded in, and they have never had any technical issues while I was there. The popcorn is good (even without butter!) and the drinks are gigantic (as well they should be for $6 or whatever). Decent movie theater that serves its purpose well. read more

Went to go see IT Chapter 2 tonight with my friends, we are all a few months younger than 17, but we have never had a problem getting into R movies by ourselves in our 16 some months of our life until tonight. JOHN F (who is about 60+ and this is probably his only job) is a BOT, he asked for our IDs which was very unusual and we didn't have them so he didn't let us in, so we called our mother who came out of her way to talk to John F who still didn't let us in, surprisingly. What we concluded from our experience is that apparently we are legally allowed to drive but we are not able to see a movie where the actors are younger than us. 2 stars because the manager gave us a a refund read more
