I was really impressed with the service I received here. I bought a caravan, for a relatively high price considering what it was. It looked good, but they offered their buyer protection plan. I took them up on it, and used their in-house mechanics for the inspection. They did find a problem, leaking head gasket, And offered to negotiate a lower price or full refund. buyer protection plan is a joke. there should be at least a 30 day protection plan. it took me a week to get to my trusted mechanic. the engine was shot. so now I am out a boat load of money and no recourse. of course regal will sell my car for free.Big Beal. Regal Auctions is a pretty sweet place. Whether you're looking for a top of the line car, or just something you can use for parts, they seriously have everything! I've been to Regal a handful of times now, looking to buy a car for myself, for my boyfriend, or trying to have one sold. The people at Regal are really helpful, especially with dummies like me who don't really know how it all works. It works exactly like an auction. "I've got $4000 there, do I hear $4500 anywhere? Anywhere? Going once... going twice... sold to the gentleman in blue for $4000!" It's so neat! I wouldn't mind going there just for the entertainment of it all. Even before the cars come through for auction, you can walk around their giant yard and take a look at what's coming next, or what you've already missed. Some of the cars come with a base price that the seller refuses to go under, but a lot of cars can sell for $100, if someone's willing to pay it. I have experience selling a van through Regal auctions. They took care of everything, and cut a cheque afterwards. Obviously, Regal takes a fee, but it's not unreasonable since they're doing all the work for you. If you need to sell a car quickly, or you just don't have time to do it yourself, Regal Auctions makes a great middleman. They take away all the stress and drama that comes with selling (or buying) a vehicle. read more

Crazy! I've bought a couple of cars here in the past and always had a good experience. I was looking for a work van so I came here with my dad a couple weekends to check things out. One of the weekends they were having one of their big crazy sales. Insanity. Not just the crowd, but how fast they can pump the vehicles through with all four lanes going. There was potential for a few vans. The first couple weren't the favourites and we just watched to see what they went for. No great deals on those ones. About half way through the day the van I wanted came up. The guy beside us was putting up his arm to bid before they even started the bidding! The guy beside us and another guy went at it back and forth for a bit. When the other guy dropped out my dad jumped in against the guy beside us. At this point the guy just kept his arm up. Clearly he wasn't letting this one go for anything. When we realized this my dad threw in a few counter bids just to run him up a couple hundred dollars more. I didn't get anything this time around but I might be back in the future for another purchase. read more

Rows and rows of cars, all to be auctioned off. 2 lanes and 4 auction stations with bleacher seating, and tons of people all waiting to see the cars like lions roam and pounce on a helpless zebra. And as the bidding started, all I could think of was the 1985 rock video for of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's Two Tribes. These were all my first impressions of Regal Auctions, located just off Barlow Trail near Memorial. It's a HUGE lot filled with cars from dealers (trade ins and the like), abandoned on the roads, discards from the city, from company fleets and so on, and here is where I went to when my beloved 2003 Kia Spectra was finally on it's last legs. Basically put, a car is driven into this warehouse like space in front of an auction booth, where people then start bidding like warriors in the Colloseum. Some bidders may perish, but someone will triumph, and sometimes gets a great deal and sometimes inexplicably makes such a boneheaded bid and pay more than the car is worth, but that's all the fun and charm of the atmosphere. Be prepared to pay lots of extra fees. While a winning bid is the price one pays for the car, it's also just a start. Remember that there WILL be a buyer's fee, which is proportional depending on the price sold. The car can not be driven off the lot, so you'll need a tow truck to take it away. There will be extra registration fees, and if the car is out of province, you're looking at a whole bunch of inspections and other fees to get it officially registered with the province (and possibly even mandatory repairs). Still, I saw some pretty decent cars go from under $2k (look for City of Calgary fleet cars, always worth it because they're extremely well maintained, and if a former cop car, probably superior than most cars on the road!), so the deals are there. Just don't be the first to bid, let the auction house bid the price down first and then jump in. Also, it's never a bad idea to come in a little early and examine the car first in the lot. Bought 2 items at the industrial sale from the pictures online. Turns out they were total junk, a chainsaw advertised as a "Stihl", actually a chinese knock-off version that is crap. Also ended up winning a 55" tv that doesn't work at all. All I ended up with is an expensive trip to the dump. They will sell you garbage so make sure you see everything that you are planning on buying. read more

I dropped my car only to learn later they won't put a reserve price, so I decided to take it back. When I went to do so, the battery died and they won't let me take it without a tow or battery pack. After my 3rd attempt, they finally agreed to pick up their lazy butts and push the car out of their yard. (Called 3 towing companies and none would agree to go into the yard). Anyhow my real issue with them is those dirty vulgar idiot drivers. If I didn't need them at the time, it would have turned ugly real fast. I tried to control my anger as much as I can and all I can say is stay away as a customer or seller because they clearly have no respect for anything but the buck they'll milk from you. read more

If I could give a 0, I would. This was the first time I used Regal, and I sent spouse to pick up stuff with my paperwork and ID, they were even expecting him. Girl on phone said someone would be there to help him load 3 pieces of drywall, but 5 guys refused to help him load it or find the other stuff and threatened to cancel my $1000 sale! Too Bad Regal, I wanted to buy a new hot-rod for him, I was excited to find you, I love to shop, but I will NEVER shop there again! EVER! If you treat all of your new customers this way, you will be out of business in not time and not need to pay employees to stand around doing nothing. read more

Wait was long, I called in the AM to confirm I could pay with credit card. Drove 1.5 hours to get there and the lady at the desk would not accept credit card and was very rude. Finally after getting the bill of sale, loaded up the trailer with the help of an employee and once I got it home, realized the front end of the trailer caught fire causing expensive damage. Called Regal back and they refuse to even offer some money towards the repair. I work with auctions for a living and this is by far the worst auction in Alberta. Do not recommend. read more

I Have picked up 5 vehicles from here in the past 4 years for me and my family and i am really satisfied.I like the fact thatThey announce all the info needed about every car to give the client a clear idea about the car,if anything wrong with it,if it is out of proving,the status,mileage ,year,manula or automatic tranny,so we can bid and choose the car we want and for the best dela guarantee,also i like that we can visit on a weekday and take a look and check the vehicles and even put an offer on it and buy it right away which make it easier sometimes. They thankfully don't have too many cars with dead batteries like the competetors and are usually helpful with any questions I have . Recommended over others.... read more

You might as well sit at home on auto trader. Most vehicles all on reserve posted on screen behind auctioneer and most of the reserves set to high to sell anyways. Was a waste of time, go onto kijiji and autotrader. read more

Fantastic Place , Amazing Auction , and great place to buy cars for the lowest prices in Calgary... I bought a nice 2005 Ford Escape and it was a great deal and since then most of my family and relatives start shopping vehicles from This auction and we are very satisfied and i have no doubts in the future i will buy my future vehicle from Regal For Sure *We just need to be realistic,honestly,I mean it is a public Auction and they have clear rules,after all what really matter for us as private clients and Public people is the price,i think the few people who are complaining here and stating that he/she bought a car with problems,hey remember how much you paid for it? very very verylow price for sure,so it is still worth spending some money to fix it and hey you still got a very good deal,personally this is what i did and what my relatives and friends did,after all we saved a lot of money minimum $ 2000 lower than the market price. Although it's a risk, a person could really score a good deal on a vehicle here. The actual auction is pretty cool too. What they lack is good customer service. I found the ladies working the front counter to be rude, not just to the customers but to each other as well. It's very unprofessional the way they deal with people. They make it very obvious that they're miserable at their job. But this was all my own experience, so it may differ for you. If you need a vehicle, newer or older, cheap or not, I'd say check this place out. read more

I had my old 97 tracker finally kick the bucket . So I thought I would check out regal to find some new wheels to get me back and fourth to work .( 100km daily) After talking to the wonderful & helpful staff , I went out and checked 3 cars that would do. I really fell in love with one that checked out great . I bid and one it . The next day I payed for it and drove it home . On the way the tranny slipped and clunked a few times once it heated up. So took it to the dealer hopeing it was just a sensor . The outcome was it needed a new transmission . I was devastated since the price wasn't over the protected $4000 price that covers you . I called them anyway to ask what thay could do and after a test ride thay gladly refunded me all my money . THANKS TO ALL THE GREAT NEW FRIENDS THAT HELPED ME OUT :)) REGAL AUCTIONS ROCK ! read more
