Honestly, the fact that I was able to make a same day appointment is grounds enough for me to leave five stars. I have been having some mild knee discomfort for several months and after some scheduling conflicts with the last PT office, I was beginning to get discouraged.
After mentioning to a friend that I wanted to try acupuncture to aid with my rehab, they suggested that I try dry needling instead and recommended Dr. Anthony at Refresh. They have a really easy to use online booking system, but I wanted to get checked out sooner rather than later and they didn't have any available slots for the day. I called and was able to get a same day appointment for later in the afternoon. Win. I was greeted over the phone by Dr. Anthony and he was very warm and accommodating when helping me get set up. He was very clear in letting me know what I could expect from my visit and how much everything would cost.
The clinic shares a space with a personal training gym, which I think is pretty convenient, but it doesn't at all interfere with the work that they're doing. The space is clean, cool, and pretty quiet. They have their own parking lot which is really nice. Dr. Anthony was waiting at the entrance to greet me and he handled my intake and got me started with the initial consult. We did a few assessments where he determined what could be causing my ailment and some exercises that could help. We decided that dry needling could be beneficial and then began the process. He was very patient and thorough when walking me through the procedure. He made me feel very comfortable and kindly answered all of my questions. The dry needling itself was an experience, lol, but I didn't find it particularly painful. There was some mild discomfort when the needles were going in, but that's about it. He also did some cupping in the problem area--that was more "painful" to me than the needling, but even still I would describe it as more discomfort than pain.
All in all the entire visit was thorough and efficient. Dr. Anthony Is incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and has great bedside manner. His business partner, Dr. Mindy, is also a physical therapist and exudes the same energy. They are both doctors of physical therapy, but the clinic is cash based as opposed to one that accepts insurance. You do pay out of pocket, but I found the pricing to be reasonable. It's probably a little odd to say that I enjoyed a doctor's appointment, but it really was a pleasant experience and I was so glad to get a second opinion and some immediate assistance/feedback. I was given the all clear to get back to regular physical activity which was awesome. I would definitely recommend Refresh to those who are in need of some physical therapy. read more
