During my most recent visit (about two months ago), she beautifully placed some magenta in my hair, and it's still going strong. In fact, every time I look in the mirror, it continues to grow on me even more! I'm still thinking about how much I love it, and it made me want to write a review even after all this time passed. And Lindsey is also great at hearing what you want and knowing what to do. I went in with a "I've pretty much grown out my bangs, and it's great having them off my face, but I also kinda miss them and want them back," which I'm sure is a hairdressers worst nightmare. But she cut in just the perfect amount. She also takes great care of my blonde base. I'm so happy and lucky to have found her.

After seeing a hair professional I was told that my hair were BADLY damaged. I recently booked an appointment with someone new at this salon after hearing the previous girl quit. The worst decision of my life I went in for a haircut originally. She suggested a perm and I questioned the health of my hair. She assured me multiple times it was just fine and she "does this all the time" Tiffany, I pray you don't. I am left with hair so damaged I have no clue where to start. I have a BALD SPOT on the front if my head. How am I supposed to cover or re grow that?? 1. The hair cut was pretty bad, the layers weren't blended AT ALL. 2. My hair was literally burned off I have a BALD SPOT 3. She used a $20 treatment without letting me know then "apologized" for charging me All after me tipping her VERY generously for a cut the day before. I am left with a mess that will cost me thousands to repair.

After my consultation, I scheduled an appointment and went in for a much-needed cut, wash, and style--but not just any cut. I decided to do a "big chop," which for those of us with natural hair means letting go of the majority of your hair. It's a big step, and it requires a lot of trust. From the moment I sat in her chair, her professionalism and genuine care immediately put me at ease. Her attention to detail, made the entire experience wonderful. She listened, she understood, and she respected how important this decision was for me. Because of that, I felt comfortable taking the risk--and I'm glad I did. I left feeling refreshed, confident, and truly taken care of. If you're looking for someone who not only knows exactly what she's doing but also honors the personal side of hair care, I highly recommend Ms. Yvette at The Promise Hair Studio. I've definitely found my stylist! Thank you Ms. Yvette! I'm so grateful I found you and I'm looking forward to my next appointment! YOU ROCK!

Anyway, on my first visit she stated I had missed my appointment and I had to provide the text that verified I had shown up early for the designated appointment. I then asked for a curly cut as I have very wavy hair. When my hair is dry its a blunt cut along the bottom and looks like something I could have done on my own. I then went to my second appointment that I had to reschedule from the original, via text, and again, she accused me of not having an appointment and I had to find the text and verify the reschedule. This time she was to do a demi color to brighten up my blond hair to my roots to be warmer more strawberry blonde. She says she matched the roots, however I left with an Auburn red with streaks in the back. She pulled on my hair and never put any oil in my shoulder length hair, when I asked for her to not make the end so blunt on my cut I ended up with random long pieces at the end and then a majority of blunt cut (she says she did a point cut). And I asked to leave with my natural curls and she instead blew out the hair so she could see the color and then I told her is she had asked, I would have told her I used a 9 on my grey. Anyway...I cant speak to the other stylists there but this one cant keep her schedule straight, does not pay attention to detail and just slaps product on your hair and does a half hearted cut that you could get at great clips. I don't think a client should feel like an inconvenience when you spend that kind of money.

My semi-longtime hairdresser, that worked…read moreat Salon J, in Goshen, IN ended up moving to Tennessee, and although I am very happy for her, the move left me without anyone I knew I could rely on for beautiful hair. But thank God I found the Walk-In Salon..... I am beyond impressed....and here's why: 1) I was able to schedule online with openings as early as the next day, selecting my preferred hairdresser or choosing any available.... I chose any available because I had never been there before and thus, had no preference. I also scheduled 2 days out from when I was actually making the appointment because I wanted the security of knowing I had my most recent paycheck in my account. I scheduled for 9am on Thursday, March 4th. I arrived and was told I'd have Nakia. (Don't know how to spell her name...sorry if it's incorrect!) 2) The man who greeted me, and Nakia were both very polite, COVID-conscious (I believe I have the power to keep myself well from COVID, as I understand that it's my personal thoughts and emotions that literally result in whether I'm in a state of illness or wellbeing {free will is the ultimate human right, is it not?}; however, I realize others are living within a completely different paradigm and I respect that...), they were also very helpful. 3) After explaining what I had previously had done with my hair and how I wanted it corrected, then personalized to my original image, Nakia was very honest with me about the realities of what I should be expecting within 1 hair appointment. (A Groupon deal ended up leaving me with a spotty yellow bowl cut.....) 4) She began by correcting the color....which I had no idea would take 2.5 hours just in itself....running me out of time before work to get anything else done with my hair. Nakia, however, was absolutely more than willing to do whatever was necessary to reach the color I wanted...without being concerned about how long it was taking. And she did JUST that.... I am a platinum blonde now and my color is even. Amazing! 5) With having to leave for work, I still needed a haircut so Nakia scheduled me again for the very NEXT morning, and was able to get me in at 9, 10, or 11.... so I chose 9. I woke up nearly half hour late this morning, and was about 15 minutes late to the appointment....but I called and told her what was going on, and she was very accommodating. 6) The actual cut - Nakia had remembered basically what I had explained the day before about what I wanted, and repeated it back to me to confirm.... she was NOT afraid to ask questions to clarify what I had really intended, and to be sure she understood (everyone says the same thing just a little differently, so I DEEPLY appreciated this about her...). The haircut is honestly probably the best one I have ever gotten - and DEFINITELY the best one I have ever gotten from a hairdresser I had never been to before! All in all, I am SUPER impressed with my experience and I am GRATEFUL beyond words for Nakia's skills, experience, understanding, and willingness to accommodate. For everything she did, it cost me $115 plus the tip.... VERY REASONABLE! I am completely dedicated to this salon now! Thank you, thank you!
