While she was rinsing me out, she whispered, "The top of your head is going to look dark but it's because it's wet." I thought that was odd but now I know that it was then that she realized she had messed up. Instead of using the correct medium blond on the top of my head, she grabbed the brush with the brown color. I have spent the last three months washing and washing this Demi color hoping it will fade out. Monica has no idea how this has affected me, my life and my business. After two horrible experiences at May-Rah-Kee, my advise is stay as far away as you can from this place. Monica told me that this is a "teaching salon". Gee...I wish I'd known that up front.

I made an appointment and had a fantastic experience with Lisa. She took the time to really understand what I wanted my hair to look like and melded that with her knowledge of my hair type, and we achieved an outstanding result. She also gave me styling tips to keep it looking great. Funny, but somehow all of these years, no one told me how to best style my hair! This is the best my hair has looked in years. So, it was a free trial and I was so pleased, I will be going back to Lisa for as long as she's doing hair.

Lisa insisted in cutting it with a center part even though my part is way over on the left side. Lisa shaved part of my neck, I found this odd. I did not request a blow out during this visit. When I left and my hair dried, I couldn't get it all into a low pony it was cut too short and extremely uneven, considerably shorter on the right side and the bottom two inches appears chopped more than layered. I texted Lisa and she apologized for cutting it too short and she suggested that my hair may have appeared chopped or layered due to hair loss following surgery. I am a medical professional and Telogen Effluvium is a diffuse hair loss, and does not cause a chopped or layered effect. Lisa suggested that if I wasn't happy it would be best not to come back. I called and left 2 messages with Wendy, the owner. She never called e back. I then emailed Wendy the owner and received an email that a check was sent in the mail with "sorry" and a request from her husband to stop harassing them. I asked for not only the money back for the botched haircut but also for a correction haircut since neither Lisa C or Wendy the owner offered that to me. I did receive the money for the haircut but not the correction. Under FL etiquette and consumer practices either Lisa C or the owner, Wendy should have extended an offer for me to come in for a complimentary assessment and correction/revision. Since my cut was a technical error, it is a standard industry practice for a reputable salon to correct it free of charge within 1 to 2 weeks.

We spoke on the phone and sent pictures I sent extremely long emails explaining exactly what we needed and wanted. And what we got was a $1188 bill for ONE ROW OF BUTTERFLY for $850 which took her five minutes to put in -she slapped them in so quick my daughter was in shock. She said if it took her longer than 5- 10 minutes she would've been shocked. Hair color for my daughter was $85 for red hair color and then another $55 to put temporary color on her extensions literally a glaze. Not even a real color. My daughter wanted cake chips, but the owner insisted that the butterflies would be better for her hair because K tips rip your hair out. The first bead that she put in my daughter's hair was front right side and it was extremely tight. It hurt all night long and we called back the next day and they got us in with Lake. Lake was able to adjust that bead and then tighten up another bead that had already slipped down within 24 hours. My daughter's hair color did not match her extensions either even though they were done at the same time by the same person at the same Salon. Her extensions were several shades lighter. So that was adjusted. She also adjusted the tightness on the one extension and cut my daughter's bangs straight. We then tipped Lake $20. This is an addition to the tip that we gave the owner on $1000+ bill. We asked several times about the extensions. They were supposed to be wavy or have body to them. They are stick straight so my daughter's hair is very wavy and she has straight extensions. I asked several times for them to double check what kind of extensions they put in her hair and supposedly they were textured which is different than being or having body wave. My daughter has been very careful with her extensions. She has been braiding them and keeping them dry and just being all around very careful. This morning she looked and she could see that the bead that was put in too tight to begin with, and then adjusted had torn out a lot of her hair and she used a tool that I ordered for her to release the bead. She remove the bead and collected her broken pulled out hair. We are now going to have to pay to go someplace to have this addressed, which means more money. It is so frustrating that real Color wasn't used - so now as she washes her hair each time the extensions will get lighter and lighter and using the glaze will only darken her natural hair, so the extensions will continue to always be too light, too straight, and apparently ripping her hair out. Not once has the owner spoken to me. She has the sweet girl at the reception desk. That's always mediating. I asked for something as simple as the color that they used on her hair so that we could duplicate it and we didn't even get a response to that..

Without knowing these were chair rentals, I made the mistake of calling the salon itself. What a dumb idea right? The man who answered (who I assume was the owner) was completely exasperated with me and rudely told me that I would need to call the stylist directly as he had no control over them and couldn't do anything to help me. "I never know when they're coming in this is the problem with chair rentals." When I got a hold of the stylist herself she was pleasant and explained how I could book online. She's not being represented well by the man she rents from. He was nasty.

My normal hairdresser is Amanda, but I've had several other employees do my hair when she has been off over the years. The best part is, everyone has been awesome.
