My hair was down to my butt, and I was ready to donate it! Despite that, I was so nervous, as I hadn't had short hair in forever, and I was nervous that I would hate the outcome. Their booking process is easy. You can either call or do it online (which is the easiest option for me). You'll make an account and your past appointments will be there, all of the stylist's available times will be there, etc.. When I first came in, I booked my appointment with Amanda, who charges the usual $50 per cut. I told her my reason for coming, how much I wanted to donate (ended up being 16 inches), and what I wanted the style to look like. I was going for a short bob (around my jawline when curled). She did an amazing job! She stood with what I asked for and didn't "make it her own" as some stylists do. I haven't cut my hair that short since then, but that's because I've come to appreciate my long bob a lot more! Ever since then, I don't cut my hair anywhere else! I've been sticking to Amanda as my stylist, but there was one time where I was in desperate need of a cut and I took an appointment with Jenny. She too was great! What I love about this salon is that the service is great from start to finish. As soon as you walk in through the door, you're greeted. The ladies at the desk know me by name. While you wait to start your wash, they'll bring you a drink (water, tea, coffee, wine). They'll also hang up your jacket, if you want. The salon itself is nicely laid out and never gets overly crowded. You can opt for the head massage at the chair or during your wash. It's so calming, and I suggest doing it on a dry scalp. The smell is soothing and it's definitely a nice added touch. The ladies who have washed my hair have all been friendly and attentive. They start conversations, comment on how thick my hair is, and really thoroughly wash through any gunk. After that, you're taken to a styling chair and greeted by your stylist. It's all magic from there! One suggestion, speak up for yourself! If you're not satisfied, let them know! Let them know what you want from the beginning. Don't expect the outcome to look exactly like the photo but try and be descriptive as possible. One thing I really dislike is how much product they put on my hair after it. I hate putting stuff other than shampoo and conditioner in my hair, so after the first two cuts, I asked them not to add anything! They really insist, but I ask them not to. The products themselves are great, but I have to wash my hair the next morning because the products make it so greasy. Parking is easy to find. There's street parking and a lot. The bathrooms are always clean! The salon is always organized and the people (both customers and staff) are friendly.

When I got home and saw it in the light, I was horrified. My hair was uneven, chopped up, and I even had bald spots. I went back hoping they'd fix it, and another stylist did what they could, but I walked out with basically a G.I. Jane haircut. Here's the worst part -- Chris never apologized. He was "too embarrassed" to say sorry, but apparently not embarrassed enough to give me the finger. The salon didn't offer a refund or any kind of compensation, just said they wouldn't charge me for fixing the damage their stylist caused in the first place. Hair grows back, sure -- but respect and trust don't. This whole experience was completely unacceptable and unprofessional.

After a couple of visits I noticed I would always have to wait. Anywhere from 10-30 min before she worked on my hair. Over time I saw she got additional girls working in the shop but the wait still remained...... weird but whatever. The last straw was my final appointment. I don't know if it's the holiday rush getting the best of her or what but I had an appointment for a relaxer touch up at 1:30pm. I parked my car in front of the salon at 1:30pm on the dot and by the time I came inside it was a minute later. The place was packed so I sat in the only chair available and waited...... and waited...... and waited..... and waited....... It was past 2pm at this point when I asked Sam when am I gonna get worked on and she said she has one more lady and then she'll do me. Y'all...... I was in that shop from 1:31pm and my hair wasn't worked on till 3:08pm. I was waiting over an hour and a half. Mind you I was sick. I had a mask on and was hardly talking to minimize potential spreading but my body ached, I was running a fever, and I felt like I was about to pass out being all lightheaded. The girl who rinsed out my hair was hardly getting to the very bottom portion of the back of my head. Even when I told her to please get the lower area she hardly moved the hose to get the spot she needed to hit. And she stayed rinsing only the back of my head for a good five minutes like, boo do you not realize I also have a front of the head too?? There's chemicals sitting in my hair that need rinsing. Why are you taking your sweet time?? Sam eventually jumped in and rinsed it good. After that, I'm in Sam's chair and she starts blow drying and straightening my hair. As she's trimming my ends, she was saying how busy she's been and mentioned the other day she had 20 clients all by herself. I was surprised hearing that and asked if none of the other girls were in that day. Sam said "No they were here but they had clients of their own." So I said "Oh then why 20 clients for you to handle alone?" She said "I got bills to pay this is how I eat. I don't work 9 to 5s like you." So I said back "If you spaced out appointments though what happened today wouldn't happen. I waited over an hour and a half before you finally got to me." And she said "When you're good at what you do, people wait for you. All my clients know to wait for me." Girl this is a bumpkin town and you are one of three salons in the area. That's why people wait. She can do natural hair good. The braiding is another story. But as soon as Sam admitted she over books to her benefit, I knew this was my last visit. If you need money that bad, start raising prices. I have been to salons that charge $120+ for a relaxer and I have no issues paying that amount since they respect my time and are ready for me at the agreed upon appointment time. All Sam said was "oh well I was gonna ask you to show up early in the week but I always see you book on Saturdays" Yes because that's when I'm free to get my hair done! If you don't have time for me that's fine I will reschedule with you no problem. But to make my sick self wait there for over an hour and a half and for her to think that's okay??? That's crazy. The amount of time I waited was longer than the amount of time it took Sam to do my hair. She started with me at 3:08pm and I was out the door by 4:15pm. This visit was it for me. I'm going back to my girls in Jersey I don't care about the drive since I only get relaxers 3-4 times a year. At least out there they respect my time and are ready for me the moment I walk in. Going to Sam, you can't plan anything else the rest of the day cuz you don't know if you're gonna be there for 1 hour or 4 hours. If you're good at what you do, you won't have people waiting almost 2 hours to get their hair done. Hair it iz. Here I go.

I ended up calling them to ask someone to fix it but they said they would put me on to the same girl, which didnt make any sense to me because if she didnt know how to do it why would she know how to fix it? Now i have to pay another 175$ on top of the 125$ spent there. The first photo is what i asked for and the second is what i got.
