Reflections in Fishponds offer this service so I have been using them for a couple of years now. They provide a good service there - they are polite when you go in and when you have an appointment I have never been left waiting longer than 5 minutes after I am supposed to be booked in (I find some hairdressers are terrible at this and it isn't something I would put up with more than once). Obviously all stylists are different but I have found with the girls I've had cut my hair there, if you want to talk they will, but if you want to be quiet for a bit they don't jabber on at you about themselves (another pet hate of mine!) Every haircut I've had there has been good, from junior stylist to top stylist, though I could really tell the difference when I had the top stylist so it may be worth the extra few quid if you're having something more than a light trim. Overall, I have been very impressed and at a very reasonable price.

The interior is very stylish, lighting is soft yet still bright enough to pick out all the points that the Headspace staff have enhanced for you. The shop's chairs are extremely comfortable and the very enchanting staff make your visit as comfortable as you feel snuggled under the duvet on a Sunday morning. As well as being able to get your hair cut at Headspae, they also sell a range of products which, among others, the shop's latest front shop posters say that can help with the 'Volume', 'Shine' and 'Repair' of your hair. Headspace also dabbles in Art - just ask the shops staff and they will be happy to fill you in with all the info, and judging by the adjoining mural advertising the shop, you are in for a treat!

I am so chuffed, I have found a talented hairdresser who: -didn't give out to me for not getting my ends trimmed regularly -or for tying up my hair wet -or try and force me to colour my hair, -or ask me where I was going on holidays this year and constantly need to keep a fake smile and inane stream of conversation going. The end result was my leaving the salon not stressed out like I often am and with happy hair :-) I had a complete restyle and love my new look, the hairdresser understood what I was trying to communicate and did a great job. I was offered water or a hot drink if I preferred one. The salon itself is small but bright, cheerful and chic. I was seen without an appointment but it was a quiet morning, expect to need an appointment in the afternoons as it gets quite busy. There was 25% off so my restyle came to £30. Without the discount, the £40 for a restyle would have been worth it. That's how much I paid for a top stylist in London and was usually offered a glass of wine to boot! However for top hair satisfaction and a relaxed hair experience, I give it the full 5 stars.

The friendly stylist listened to exactly what I wanted, nodded politely before making me a welcoming cup of tea. She left me with a pile of trashy mags to work my way through while she made a start on my locks. Sadly this lovely, friendly lady fell into the trap of trying to make inane conversation while I tried to un-subtlely ignore her and stick my face into the copy of Heat on my lap. She loses a point at this stage. The haircut itself was a bit too prim and proper for my liking - and not really what I asked for. Great for older ladies or gents (my Dad had a particularly good hair cut here) but not great for scruffy young girls like myself.

I personally have found that the service is perfectly adequate and I would probably go back again, whereas I probably wouldn't go back to Mac Daddy's. I found that staff were really nice and friendly as you would expect in a hairdressers. They asked your usual 'sooo going anywhere nice this year?' questions, but once that had run dry then did leave me alone and got down to giving me a very good haircut.

On arrival, the staff were pleasant and the experience was nice however mid way through my hair cut, a member of staff (who was being quite rude on the phone to someone) came off the phone and said across the salon in a very derogatory tone "wanting a Chinese discount" which was repeated by a second member of staff. I'm assuming this means they are generalising that all Chinese people are after a discount. Saying this is bad enough but across the whole salon when you have a client sitting right in the middle - who is Chinese - and who hasn't even batted an eyelid at paying the second highest rate for a cut at the salon is quite frankly embarrassing. I really hope you learn some tolerance and humility.
