Would not recommend them with high carat gold. Wanted to turn my 24k gold into other jewelry and…read morethey did a scratch test to test the gold. They stated it was 22k. As a jeweler, they should know scratch tests are not meant for higher carat gold but a xrf or pmi gun. Took it to a pawn shop for testing and even the jewel recycle and they both confirmed it was 24k. Them being jewelers, they should know this and not try to scam customers. Their work is amazing from what I have seen but I can not trust them. Beware.

From the moment I met one of the owners, this gem of a store got my attention. Before setting foot into the shop, I was impressed by their proactive, organic social media campaigns. I would not recommend this company at all. Our mortgage company used a third party to obtain the…read moreappraisal for a partial release of our property. The report was not filled out correctly. The references used were not accurate. The amount of bedrooms were labeled wrong. The comps used did not reflect our property and one was not even in the zip code that was listed on the report. One comp was listed as 5 miles from our property when in reality it was over 10. We resent it back to the appraiser and he did not correct it or change anything. It has been a very frustrating experience and in return has reflected poorly on the value of our home.

I unfortunately won't buy anything through BRG again. I purchased an "oil painting" of a flower…read morevase a couple of years ago, but when I got it home I realized it was a print. I took the blame for that because I didn't inspect the painting properly when I picked it up (it was behind a plastic cover so it wasn't super easy to tell)-- otherwise I would have declined the charge. Luckily I had only paid ~$35 for it. More recently, I purchased another oil painting for $55; there were several in the lot by the same artist, so I felt comfortable bidding on the painting, and I knew to inspect the painting in person before accepting it. When I picked up the painting, it was indeed a real painting, I could see the paint textures and it looked as expected. On the drive home from the BRG warehouse, I noticed the painting was actually a print that someone had painted over randomly with real paint. In the daylight, it was clear that the background canvas was pixelated, and someone had covered up a lot of the print with real paint, and then signed the artist's name at the bottom. I hadn't noticed this when I picked up the painting because the inspection area under the awning was poorly lit. So, I guess I can blame myself for not giving these paintings a more thorough inspection, but I can also place some blame on BRG for misrepresenting these paintings (either purposefully or by not having a more rigorous process for the descriptions of these lots). And for those reasons, I can no longer purchase anything through BRG. I won another painting last year, which I believe is real, and that is why I gave 2 stars instead of 1. Also, the website and pickup process work reasonably well.
