The Hertz counter would not give me my car without it, even though I am a Gold member, I know my drivers' license number by heart, and I had a different photo ID. Oh well, this review isn't about them. These were the folks that were standing at the bottom of the stairs as available for a taxi ride, so I just went with them, rather than calling another company. (because I wasn't even sure if their WAS another company.) They market themselves as a "luxury car service at a taxi price" or something of that nature. Uh, no. These so-called "luxury" cars, well, they might be a Lincoln or something like that, but they're so old they can hardly be considered luxury. You can tell that these cars have been in use a long time with many a passenger. Kind of gross, really. The drivers were only kind-of helpful. They were, however, VERY talkative- a quality which I don't generally appreciate. I'm not here to get your life story, man, I just need a ride. But I'm a nice gal, so I did engage in the conversation when it was clear that he just needed to chat. Anyway, I used Lucky 7 three separate times while I was in town, and was not all that impressed, but I wasn't completely enraged by them either like some of the other reviewers. Would I use them again? Yeah, probably, considering it is a very short ride to anywhere I go in Fargo. Would I be thrilled about using them again? Probably not.

At 10:40 (an HOUR later) the driver called my cell to tell me he was out front. Unfortunately I WAS OUT FRONT!!! He went to the wrong Super 8. Because before the vacation, we needed a cab ride to the airport and I looked at reviews that others had written about various cab companies in the area. Many of them got some negative reviews - including Lucky 7 Taxi. Consequently, I booked a cab to the airport from a cab company other than Lucky 7 Taxi. That cab ride was OK - not outstanding and not terrible - just OK. As the plane was landing in Fargo, I was thinking about calling the same cab company for our ride back home. However, as I rode down the escalator to claim my baggage, there were a couple of guys standing at the bottom, advertising their Taxi services. One of them was Steve who was working for Lucky 7. I don't remember what the other cab company was because I decided to give Lucky 7 a try myself and see if I agreed with the negative reviews that others had written three weeks earlier. I'm very glad I did so! Steve made arrangements to get his cab as close to the baggage claim door as possible and helped us get our 3 big suitcases and 4 carry-ons loaded into the cab. The cab was a full size Lincoln with very clean leather interior. The interior of the cab was very nice and warm which was important to us because it was -20 F outside. Steve was pleasant to visit with but didn't wear out our ear-drums. He was familiar with the Fargo/Moorhead area and was able to fill us in on what had been going on during our vacation. When we arrived at our destination, he helped me get our luggage from the cab to the front door. I gave him a well-deserved good tip and made note of his name so I could include it in this review. It was very icy on the steps, so I fully expected the driver to get out and help me with my bag, but no. So I rolled it down the ramp and he met me there. I thought he'd get out to load the bag in the back of the van, but when I asked about the bag he said to "put it in the back"! I said no you do it and after a short go-round he got out and did it. ANDREW, you're awesome! Super helpful and really understanding! I needed route information for a family member who was stuck at the hospital and needed to get back to their hotel. They were from out-of-town and so am I, but I was able to give ANDREW the starting/ending addresses and he gave me detailed info for bus routes/times/fares that my family member could use. Sadly, she found alternate transportation so I have no idea how good MATBUS actually is, but A+ on the dispatch side. FYI, if you're from out-of-town, don't bother with trying to decipher the maps that MATBUS provides on their website. Even knowing exactly where my family member was going, I totally couldn't understand which lines she needed to take so calling dispatch was my only option, but like I said SUPER HELPFUL people!

Last night there was a blizzard, my car got stuck in my driveway, and I had to get to work. I called Doyle's and they told me they were booked and to try again in half an hour. I called FM and they told me they'd be there in 20 minutes and call me when they got there. Half an hour later, nothing. I tried calling them and it went to voicemail twice. Broke down and downloaded Uber, the Uber was there in 5 minutes. FM never did show up. And this is why Uber is putting taxi companies out of business.
