I've been here twice and have really enjoyed myself at the Hotel Reef Yucatan. The server Elias was phenomenal bring us drinks all day - even when we did not ask for them, he knew what we wanted and was quick to deliver them to us. Nice pool, restaurant and beach. read more

We went here for a few hours as an excursion while we were on our cruise. The place is beautiful and I plan to post some photos that I took. The hotel is gorgeous. The beaches are mostly crushed seashells and I had fun walking up and down searching for large seashells to take home. Fluffy was our guide and he kept everyone busy around the pool with games and music after we arrived. He also gave us lots of info as we drove on the bus to the location. Progresso is an area that seems to just now be becoming a tourist type area. So the hotel is new and still had construction going on around it. It seems there is more and more being built in the area as well. The food that was served on the bar was ok, but nothing special. It could be improved on. The drinks were great though! The only big drawback is that if you are going from the Carnival Cruise docks, it was an hour drive to get here. But it's beautiful and you get to see some gorgeous homes on your way there. read more

Progreso, Mexico is a port stop with Carnival Cruise Line. If you don't wish to visit the Mayan Ruins, this resort is a great way to spend your day. Grab a chair by the pool or beach, and enjoy cold beverages, pleasant breezes, and good company with fellow cruisers. For beach-combers, shells are plentiful. Just be sure there aren't any live critters still inside! Beachfront massages are available for purchase...very relaxing! A few vendors selling their wares are present on property, but they are not intrusive. Food selection was somewhat limited, but tasty. Drinks were very cold and refreshing....our waiter, Elias, kept us well-hydrated! This was a return trip for us! read more

Awesome resort, with a great pool, tennis courts and beachfront "cabanas" with hammocks. The development it's in is incomplete, so the beach is private on either side. Go now before the crowds do! read more

There's no WiFi in the bedrooms. Trash food - many of my friends got sick. Worst chicken nuggets in the universe. The food isn't 24 hours - you can't get food past 11pm. Literally the picture of the food you see on this yelp page is one of the worst items you'll have. Mini golf and other activities are terrible. They dont let adults use the basketball court. Nobody goes to the club, because nobody is even here. It's 45 minutes away from civilization. The only positive of this place is that the staff are nice people. I would never go here if I wasn't forced to as a part of my group. Do yourself a favor and go to Cancun - it's only a few hours away. read more
