The moment you walk in, there is so much peace and tranquility even though on the main road (calle 62) there is a lot of noise with just the cars driving by. The VIP hotel only has 6 suites however we still had an outdoor swimming pool with lounge chairs. The rooms are quite spacious, clean, and comfortable. The super tall ceilings and decor of the hotel truly transport you back to the hacienda days in Mexico. I did partake on ordering drinks poolside since its so hot/humid out there so thats also an option. I didn't see many other guests there since people are usually out on their tours or walking around getting familiar with the city. The concierge are super helpful providing ideas/suggestions on things to do or would recommend places if you ask. One day it was raining and they brought me an umbrella to me right before I walked out for a tour. I would recommend adding a small fridge to the room just so guests can store water. This is a boutique hotel you definitely want to enjoy their well maintained facilities and take advantage of everything offered.

From the very start when you relax in the lobby with a cool beverage, to the spa service itself, to a taste of chocolate to cap things off, everything is great! Called the Experiencia Rosas & Xocolate, it was a four hour experience that included a welcome ritual; a chocolate-based exfoliation; a wrap; a cranial massage; a chocolate tasting and some tea; a massage with hot stones; and a facial with cold stone massage. The spa area was lovely, and they really went all out to make the experience special (rose petals and other thoughtful touches). The staff of the spa were so lovely and made the experience really a relaxing treat. It was also easy to reserve and book via WhatsApp. l highly recommend the spa and that particular experience if you want a bit of R&R on your trip to Merida! What a treat.

When we first arrived, I was cursing at myself for making such a terrible selection for our stay in Mérida. The room was tiny, barely big enough for the two double beds in it, and the bathroom was tiny with a toilet that had a shower wall sitting so close to it, you couldn't sit down with your legs directly in front of you, unless you didn't have legs. Then I realized, that due to our specifications of having a room with a balcony (for the smoker), we just so happened to be put in the room that seemed like an afterthought or an extension of the hotel, only for people they didn't want to come back. (Ha!) The other rooms I had chances to peak in during the daytime, looked much more logical (no walls in front of toilets), spacious and enticing. I slept okay (not great). I'm not sure if it was the snoring bear in the room, or the level of comfort. Maybe the next reviewer will be the judge. I've got my eyes on some other options for next time... If you are missing the 80´s than come stay here! The rooms are borderline clean. First look not bad, second look think twice. The shower head is the worst i have seen in 20 years in roughly 10 countries. Good luck washing hair. Everything spurts out in tiny water streams that are far apart from each other. Terrible. The parking in the back is good - secure. They have a laundry service without fees.. called front desk but no answer. I cant wait to leave. Loud loud room - and usually noise does not bother me.
