I would compare this place to a 2-star hotel in the United States in many ways, but then there is the fact that it appears that they clean practically every single inch of the hotel on a daily basis, the lobby is much nicer and even the terrace and corridors as well.
When we first arrived, I was cursing at myself for making such a terrible selection for our stay in Mérida. The room was tiny, barely big enough for the two double beds in it, and the bathroom was tiny with a toilet that had a shower wall sitting so close to it, you couldn't sit down with your legs directly in front of you, unless you didn't have legs. Then I realized, that due to our specifications of having a room with a balcony (for the smoker), we just so happened to be put in the room that seemed like an afterthought or an extension of the hotel, only for people they didn't want to come back. (Ha!) The other rooms I had chances to peak in during the daytime, looked much more logical (no walls in front of toilets), spacious and enticing.
I slept okay (not great). I'm not sure if it was the snoring bear in the room, or the level of comfort. Maybe the next reviewer will be the judge. I've got my eyes on some other options for next time...
