Prices are high for gas and items, but your option is to drive at least 30 minutes to Hotchkiss. It certainly costs more to do business in Crawford, both as a customer, and as a business owner. I like the place though and am in there at least twice a week and live nearby. They have the facilities on site to make burgers, but in the last 3 years, they have started, and stopped doing that just as many times. Maybe when you read this you can get a good burger there, but unfortunately not today. Of some importance, they usually are closed by 3 or 4pm on Sunday even in the summer - so go early if you are depending on them for anything important. Probably best to call ahead if you haven't physically put eyeballs on the posted hours on their front door lately. The hours change a couple times a year too.

The gas station is perfectly fine, clean and organized. The…read moreperson on night staff is, however, extremely antagonistic. I understand bad days and not enjoying customer service (I wouldn't wish customer service on anyone) but I've never had a staff member pick a fight with me before I even entered the establishment. We went to open the door and found it was locked, so we tried the second door immediately after the first door since we were just a little confused. We weren't upset or vocally angry, we didn't even say a single word other than 'oh!', but the staff member commented, "It's not going to just open without a key" and when we tried to explain that we were just caught off guard, which is why we tried the second door, he then said, "Yeah, if one door's locked, usually the other one is too." Yes, we know this, but it's odd that a gas station we've been to a billion times, and will inevitably go to a billion more, was locked. He was exceptionally condescending, and I'd rather not have to pick a fight with the guy every single time I have to grab a drink from there.
