I was referred to Lotus by a friend as she lived in the area and I hadn't actually run across them…read moreyet. I decided to book myself a Custom Facial as suggested by the front counter gal when I booked in. I have frustratingly combo skin and it was Tuesday, so what the heck. The location is on the bottom floor of mixed commercial/residential space kind of just beyond the "town" part of Walnut Grove; easy to get to, parking is a bear (they have three alloted spots amongst numbered parking). The waiting room is small, not much going on there. Some products for sale, bench to wait on. No big deal. After filling out the usual forms I was escorted in. My girl showed me the shower room then where we would have the service. The change room was small but adequate. Shower, toilet, sink and mirror with combs in that blue alcohol stuff. There are a bank of lockers for your stuff that contained a robe and towel, I was also given thongs. If you follow me you know how I feel about thongs. If not, I'll recap quickly. They never, ever, ever fit... And this was no exception. I'm honestly going to start bringing my own. Ridiculous. But I digress... In the room (small room... there's a trend here) I was asked to soak my feet and was given a Magic Bag neck warmer wrap type thing. It felt good and smelled like hot barley. After the foot soak the facial started. It was nice. She also gave a head massage and put stuff on my neck, chest, and shoulders. The were six steps all-in-all. I'm the type of person that doesn't really want to engage in conversation when being worked on, but u do like to be informed what's going on our what products are being used. This, unfortunately didn't happen and when I asked if she had a list of products that she used in me she sighed and said she didn't do that, but would provide me with samples. That was alright, but she made me feel as though I was creating this hardship. I didn't mean to nor did I appreciate the hostility. She brought me six samples. I asked what order they were used in, she said -with hesitation- that she would put them in order for me. I thanked her. The experience was nice, it just lacked that professionalism. I get that the word "uniform" sometimes throws employees into a tizzy but perhaps ditching the Uggs in lieu of simple black shoes would be a good idea. Just take it to the next level. Would I go back, perhaps... if others were going.

I have been here a few times and I will continue to go back!…read more I always feel like I'm someone special when I'm at lotus day spa. It's small & quaint & I love the friendly atmosphere. I don't understand when people complain about this spa. It's amazing! Upon reading these other reviews, I really have to disagree with them. There are a lot of products to choose from given their size. If I really wanted to go to a larger spa that doesn't personalize services for me, I will go to that spa I shall not name I always find if I tell the receptionist when I book my appointment, that I want to use the sauna, they prepare it ahead of time, and because I've given notice and it's perfectly heated by the time I go in. As far as the "thongs" aka flip flops go, they are made to be akwardly larger in order to not damage your pedicure. Every spa I've been to, has up to 4 different sizes & they are cumbersome, because that's how they're made! No manufacturer has made perfect pseudo flip flops! So like I said, I will definitely go back! I love this place!

I now go running and am happy to stretch whereas before I had avoided both at all costs. Not only that, he has helped my mother address and largely overcome a 20 year long emotional blockage. He also has helped my wife and young (7) daughter with emotional and physical constraints that they were dealing with. We all look forward to his weekly visits and we recommend him to many friends and family. If you have any pain or lack of mobility issues go and see John. I can't speak highly enough of the service that we get from him. It is a travesty that Shiatsu is not covered on most insurance plans but I have to ask, if you would take the treatment if someone else was paying then why not take the treatment anyway? Don't be tempted to cheap out on yourself. If the impact of John's treatment and that of the other treatments that I have had were to be compared (RMT, acupuncture, chiropractic and physio) then those other treatments are a Toyota Prius compared to John's Ferrari. I find John's variety of treatments to be much more powerful and they got me where I wanted to be MUCH faster. It's the best money that I spend all week, of that I am certain (and let's be clear, the price differential is not similar to a Prius and Ferrari). On that point I have been attending $50 chiro sessions for months to fix what John ended up fixing in two $100 sessions (and he fixed other problems in the process as a bonus). Okay, my insurance paid for the Chiropractor but John solved the issue and gave me my mobility back. I know where I'll spend my time and money in the future.

I went in and got an awesome pedicure and then also had a massage booked. The women who did my massage I don't think usually works there, I will say in the spas defence. She did not ask me any info on what type of massage I wanted and didn't have me sign or do the paperwork you usually get to give some background info or areas of concern. The room was very cold there was no spa music playing or relaxation oils. The massage itself was very light and awkward. I did ask for more pressure but didn't get any and she kept bumping into things in the background . I felt this person just may not have had a lot of experience. She didn't have an eye mask for me and had to leave the room to go get one , she also kept bumping off the eye mask and eventually she just left it off. I left with a head ache and felt I needed a massage after my massage. I went home and took some Advil after the massage due to my headache I want to say that generally I love su Casa spa ! And will keep going again for other treatments but would unfortunately would not recommend a massage by this person :( I feel bad even writing this post but it was actually that unenjoyable I felt compelled. In general the massage left very disjointed and not professional.
