Myers beach is visible from the pier and there were thousands of people soaking in the sun that adds its own color and fun. Parking can be a bit of a hassle. We got lucky and one person was leaving and signaled us they were leaving. That was a very nice gesture. My only complaint was they did not give us their paid parking ticket to enhance my free visit. :)

Since it is…read moreprivate, you can get to it by ferry only if you stay at Hyatt or a couple of neighborhoods in the area to get the pass or by boat. You park, get into a shuttle that takes you to a small marina and then get onto the ferry. There are schedules to follow, last one at 4:30 pm coming back. That's a bit of a bummer of you want to catch the sunset, but for some days they stay longer especially of they have events on the island at the Beach House (cookouts, concerts, etc) which could be fun to attend. Once you are on the island, the relaxation starts, just a quick walk and you're on the beach. There are chairs and umbrellas set up and you can lay in the shade/sun with a book and enjoy the views. The water doesn't go deep, since it's the Gulf of Mexico so you can swim easily. There are beautiful shells to pick up, the best, cute birds around, pelicans and sometimes dolphins. There are restrooms at the club house, and a snack bar if you forgot your drinks, snacks, etc. Prices are reasonable. Wear flip flops since there are more shells around you can step on. The beach is never crowded, it is more natural, relaxing with the white sands and the turqoise water. I enjoyed my walks, my swims and sunbathing here, the perfect vacation spot. I can tell since Hurricane Milton how hard this beach was destroyed which is devastating. But i'm not entirely sure it was a ton nicer even prior. One of the parking lots did get wiped out, so now the amount of parking available is awful, maybe 10-12 spots so if you don't get there quite early good luck getting a spot. And once you park, to get to the actual shoreline you have to walk up and around the giant valley/ pond just beyond the parking lot- lots of decay and damage still there, not sure if they're looking to fix it or not. We also love coming to Sanibel for shelling, and you could find some decent shells along Blind Pass here and there, but pretty underwhelming. There's plenty of other beaches stretching the island with more opportunity, better parking and overall much easier access.

Plus, there are always lots of shells to search for. It is a fairly wide beach, but others on Sanibel are wider. Today, the sand and shells were packed down very hard. There is no way that you would walk around barefoot. The water in late March is still quite chilly, even so, there were a number of brave souls who enjoyed it. We also saw a fair amount of seaweed today. It was a special day as we saw between 5-10 dolphins playing for us. We love seeing the dolphins, pelicans and sea gulls. We had a nice three hours or so on the beach. When we left, there were quite a few cars waiting for a place to park. That's the only thing about this beach, there is limited parking.

But the weekends are crowded! People are jogging, shelling and camping. Music is intrusive. The entire shoreline is full of boats, people are snorkeling, floating and fishing. Overall, this beach is just as beautiful as any beach on Sanibel Island. Enjoy it wherever you go.
