The Bride & Groom and their guests could just enjoy the wedding. Everyone around was extremely nice and helpful. The sand looked like it just had ben racked. Super clean and family oriented. The beach was not crowded at all, even though it was not as big as other Beaches. Still a must visit if in the area. Or plan your next party/event there! This weekend, though, I just wanted a peaceful place to sit and watch the sunset, so I decided to give it another try. To my surprise, the water was a beautiful bluish-green instead of brown. The beach was quiet, peaceful, and not overly crowded, making it a relaxing spot to unwind and enjoy the sunset. It was a much more pleasant experience than I expected, and I'm glad I came back.

You see folks absorbed in finding one after the next pretty ones! But when you get to this paradise, be ready to pay a more for public beach parking. If you can find a spot! Not easy. Patience is a virtue! As of today, late August 2021, the price is $25/2 hours or $40/day. Nothing in between, like 1 hour or by the half hour. Pay by cash or credit card and display your receipt on the dashboard. I saw park services vehicle in the area. Don't get a ticket. There are no public restrooms, showers or food service. Prices are meant to keep out most ordinary citizens. Captiva is pricey, the playground for the wealthy for the most part. Private landowners enjoy private beach access. We enjoyed the shell-laden beach for two hours. It really is a beautiful stretch of beach. We drove back through Sanibel Island to the other area beaches, checking each one along the way. Most beaches on Sanibel offer parking at $5 /hour. Good for the common folk like us lol!

There is so much room that even if there is a ton of people it's easy to spread out and not feel too crowded in which is nice. Something I didn't like was that there were lots of beer bottle caps all over in the sand, and considering there's kids running around thats really a concern. I wish people could be a little more considerate of others and also not lazy and pick up after themselves. I don't know if it's normally like that but I hope not. There's lot of shells too, the little spiral ones are absolutely everywhere, I found a handful within a couple minutes which is fun. Also there was showers/ places to rinse off, and bathrooms at a lot of intervals which is super nice for after you leave the beach. There are covered grill out areas and I think I saw sand volleyball courts too. Great place, visit if you can!

There is a pay lot easily within walking distance. The beach is huge. Nice white sand. There are bars with music, food trucks and snack vendors all right at the beach. There are public bathrooms right by the free parking. There are places that rent chairs and umbrellas. But we brought our own. It's a great family beach. Perfect for walking or just playing in the sand or water. Some shells on the beach, if you are looking for a souvenir. If you stay later than 2pm you will experience some crazy traffic getting to the bridge. But a great place to hang out!

Then you walk your way through the puddles and bushes to the beach. It's amazing however be careful, the connection to the further part has very strong current and it was hard to get back, it's not that safe. I actually got here by accident as I had not gone far enough on this road to get to Lover's Key on this day. Great error! I loved it so much, I came back the next day, too! It did make me miss my dog at home a lot but then I was comforted by others that shared theirs for a short time! The views here are beautiful. The wind was not as strong as the other coastal beaches and I saw a dolphin swimming around, loving the protection of this little bay. It was very clean and I noted everyone was super responsible in picking up after their pet. TIP: Make sure you wear water shoes or are OK in bare feet in a bit of unknown water as the tide will come in as the day goes on and you will have some considerable waterways to traverse, some parts, over a foot deep. You park (believe the porta potties are here and here only) and then walk a few blocks via a sandy walkway/water to the beach. People were bringing coolers, umbrellas, small tents for shade, water bottles of course and snacks. There are places along the beach to sit while your dog plays on the beach/sand bar. Would recommend to any animal lover. People were here all over from Canada and the US. Loved it!
