Our seven-year-old started going to Redding taekwondo after his first taekwondo instructor had to close shop. It was totally devastating for our kiddo. Master Kim made it such an easy transition for us to start. We love how he is with the kids, very knowledged and fun. You can tell he truly enjoys his work and the kids love it! Our other two have asked to join as well. It has been such a relief to have such a smooth transition and to have our child excited to go every week. The building is very nicely set up for families to watch and younger kids to play in the back room. Very clean and orderly. As a current student in Tae Kwon Do, I understand and appreciate the difference between an Accredited Studio such as Redding Tae Kwon Do. Redding Tae Kwon Do teaches you all the fundamentals governed by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation. Which is a member of the IOC Olympic Committee. I believe any current of future students who learn from Master Kim will enrich themselves with greater learning of the art of Tae Kwon Do. Master Kim is a great instructor with excellent teaching and communication skills. The Studio is incredibly clean and well maintained. There is a viewing area for parents or friends to watch quietly as the students train on the wall to wall padded training floor. Along with plenty of kicking bags, punching pads, and sparring gear, Redding Tae Kwon Do is the best place to learn with safety in mind! I have personally enjoyed all the lessons I have received from this studio and hope you and your family do as well. I just wish there was another studio like his in my area since I have moved. We learned of Redding Tai Kwon Do through my son's school, Redding School of the Arts. We were immediately impressed with Master Kim's demeanor and rapport with kids, so when our son wanted to learn martial arts, we decided to try Redding Tai Kwon Do. In less than two months, our son has absolutely blossomed under Master Kim's instruction, and we are thrilled with our choice. I believe Master Kim's 'secret' is that he connects with every student personally, he leads by example, and he instills a sense of self worth and pride in each student. Of course, this is exactly what one hopes to find in joining a dojo, but our past experiece with a different dojo in Redding was disappointing. The owner 'pawned' beginner students off on his older students, only interjecting when the students misbehaved, often without even getting up from behind his computer. We had the distinct feeling that the owner was concerned about making money and producing 'good martial artists' but didn't seem to care much about the individual students. Master Kim teaches every class, while his older students assist. When correction is needed, Master Kim is kind, firm and often humorous. He instills in his students the desire to improve for themselves, not for their parents or their classmates or their teachers. He does teach kids to respect parents, teachers and peers, but the improvement comes from the desire to improve themselves for their own sake. We cannot say enough about how much our son is learning and growing through his experiences in Redding Tae Kwon Do, and we are very happy to have found this wonderful resource for him. read more

My son was going there and stopped in November 2017. I asked for a refund of the $80 they took out. I also told them 2 weeks in advance that he would not be continuing. so far almost 7 months later we have not receive a refund. the Master will keep your money and never return it. This is a very poor business practice. So what happens when you child has earned his or her black belt he keeps that many too when they get done? I would not recommend Redding Tae Kwon Do to anyone. read more
