Interior, family friendly

We love making at least an annual trip down to Redamak's! The "windex" cocktail is shockingly delicious if you're in the mood for an adult beverage. Service is always fantastic- tip well, and of course cash only! This is a casual joint that has survived for decades for good reason. I appreciate their vegetarian options. Also good to-go!

Cheese fries
Melissa J.

Walked into redamaks on Friday evening around 7:30pm. It was very busy but still got seated quickly. Our server greeted us and took our drink order plus app order. We started with the cheese fries. They weren't anything fabulous. The fries could've been a little more fried to my liking but the melted cheese was warm and gooey. We each order the 8oz velveeta burger. Wasn't asked how we wanted them cooked so right off made me think they were frozen patties. Turnaround for our burgers was only 15-20 minutes. They had plenty of toppings and the cheese was good. The burger itself was just mediocre with a lukewarm warm center. This would be a one time stop for me. Also it's cash only. It's a good thing we looked before we arrived. Cool warm vibe inside with even the chance to buy redamark merch if you want to remember the place.

UPDATE THEY REMOVED THE ARCADE AND NOW ITS A TAKE WINDOW 2022 SHAME ON THEM!

Updating my review. This place when to shit fast. In 2018 they removed the arcade and turned it into a take out counter. EVERYTHING IS EXPENSIVE, LOW QUALITY, AND SMALL PORTIONS. This used to be a fun place, now it's a greedy dump with no charm. Shame on you Redamaks owners.

Vanilla shake

This place has been here forever. I haven't been here in like 25 years. It's just as I remember it. Same wooden booths. I had a vanilla shake which was really good. Mozzarella sticks were average. They did give you a lot of them for the money. My nephew got the spicy chicken sandwich that was great. Looked amazing! Hamburgers are what they are known for. Everyone liked theirs. Our server was very friendly & accommodating. But the chicken wrap wasn't edible. My niece had one bite. Chicken was rubber & had no flavor. Stick to burgers & shakes.

Cheap bread.

My second time here and I won't be back. You charge so much for basically fast food. The burger wasn't great. The gluten free bun was an absolute joke. The smoothie was syrup. What did I spend $17 on?

Mainstay of their business is the burger. Chili dog is good. Wife thought it a tad spicy. Fries complement!!

Nice place for family with younger children. Even older folks, too! A family was celebrating "Grandpa" birthday in nearby booth. It's very casual. Solid food with CASH ONLY payment or maybe check. No cards accepted. Although I think they had a debit card ATM. Their sign said they close at end of season which is maybe toward end of October....??

Buffalo Street burger

Great service! Our server was so nice and she has been here 45 years. She is the BEST! We had the Wilson and Buffalo burgers and both were delicious

This is a place we look forward to visiting each summer. Good burgers, old school vibes, and the place is always packed. We were seated within 10 minutes on a busy August Saturday. The prices are pretty high, but that's what you get in a tourist city.

Legendary Velveeta burger on a brioche bun with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and mushrooms.

It's a very cute place, very nostalgic and a fun interior. The service was great. The prices are really reasonable and it has a big menu. Definitely great for families. The burger was good but not great. I wish the meat was seasoned. It seems like the meat quality is pretty good. The fries are also very plain. We enjoyed the cheese curds although they are kinda salty. My husband really liked the buffalo cauliflower. The coleslaw is basic but decent. I would come back but won't expect great. Just decent diner type food.

Our server was amazing. When I asked how the veggie burger was prepared, she got a printed version of the ingredients. So helpful. I ordered the strawberry iced tea. It was unsweetened, although the flavored syrup added a perfect touch of sweetness. Loved it. My black bean burger was delicious. I got it el diablo. A little spicy, not hot. My French fries were great. I shared with my husband & had some coleslaw too. It was the perfect amount of creamy & crunchy. Our drinks were refilled often. They have great merch here too. I was really excited to finally try The Stray Dog after hearing so many good things and seeing all…read morethe great reviews. We don't live in the area, but happened to be nearby and decided to give it a shot. The entire place was packed, which says a lot about how popular it is, and we ended up waiting close to an hour for a table. Once we were seated, we were fortunate enough to get a table on the rooftop. The weather was absolutely perfect, and even though it was after sunset by the time we sat down, it was such a comfortable, beautiful and relaxing setting. That was definitely a highlight. We started with the cheese curds, and those were excellent--great flavor and a decent portion. My wife ordered the fish tacos and really enjoyed them. I went with the spicy chicken sandwich. (Our server said it was a popular choice) The sauce had a really good kick without overpowering the flavor, but Unfortunately, the chicken portion was pretty small for a $15 sandwich and didn't fill the bun very well, so I left feeling like it wasn't particularly filling. The fries were an additional $5 and were pretty underwhelming--very basic, thin, run-of-the-mill fries without much seasoning. For comparison, Hancock in Grand Rapids is one of my favorite spots for a chicken sandwich, and their chicken is significantly larger and more substantial. The fish tacos and cheese curds were the bright spots for us, but overall, I felt the food was a little overpriced for the portions and what we received. The small side of guacamole for around $3 was another example--it was essentially a very small sauce-sized portion. The service was also a little disappointing at the end of the night. I completely understand that it had been a busy day and that it was getting late, so I try to give some grace there. But as we were leaving, there was a group of servers gathered near the stairs talking amongst themselves, and no one really acknowledged us or said thank you or have a good night. Having been in management myself, I've always felt that whether someone is your first customer of the day or your last, you want them walking out feeling like you appreciated that they chose your establishment. It was a small thing, but it unfortunately left an impression. With all of that said, I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying The Stray. It's clearly a popular spot, the atmosphere is great, and there were definitely things we enjoyed. Maybe we just didn't order the right dishes this time around. Given how many great things I've heard, I'd be willing to give it another shot and try some of the other menu options. 2.5 stars

It came with whipped hot honey butter. So good. Next was the watermelon salad with cucumber, jalapeños, and Cojita cheese. Refreshing & delicious. Last up was the chicken sando & Cajun seasoned French fries with an aioli. The sandwich was crispy & the bun was soft. I loved it. The fries were crispy & perfect. The amount of fries was great, but I could have had more of the aioli or ketchup also. We didn't get dessert, although the 3 on the menu looked amazing. Maybe next time. Can't wait to come back.

Gilbert checked on the table next to us several times and took their food order, while we received no further attention. Eventually, I got up and went to the bar to settle our bill. He was standing there scrolling on his phone and barely acknowledged me after I cleared my throat. The lack of follow-up, especially while the neighboring table received repeated attention, made this a frustrating experience. I hope the customer service improves.

OMG OMG OMG! This might have been the best meal I have had this year!…read more We were driving to visit family in MI, after a few days in Chicago. But after what seemed like an eternity of bumper to bumper traffic leaving the city, we found ourselves starving and in need of a break from the car. We typed in Pizza into Yelp and this gem popped up, with high reviews and delicious looking photos, so we made a beeline off 94. It took a little bit of time to get seated, which I guess makes sense for dinner on a Friday night around 8pm in a smaller community. But after about 15 min of wait, we were sat near the fire (nice and cozy) and then the parade of amazing palate pleasers started! We started with an amazing and interesting pear and cheese appetizer (Asiatic pears, whipped cream cheese, garlic, pepper). Delicious!! We then got a Caesar salad to split - not only was it crisp and flavorful - but the dusting of what seemed like dried bits of croutons and anchovies took things to an 11! We had cocktails too - and to be honest, while they were great, I am not even going to address it so as not to avoid taking away from the main course. Then the pizza - oh the pizza. I am a complete pizza snob. I have traveled all over the country and sampled nearly every pizza made. I am a critic, and a cynic. And its hard to get a good review out of me unless you are putting in the love. But this might be one of the best Detroit style pizzas I have EVER had! 9.9 out of 10? Light airy almost fluffy crust, with great salty crip edges made for an incredible first bite. Sassy bright and spicy sauce ladled on top of the cheese, with heavily spiced cupped pep. And a just the right amount of heat and sweet with the hot honey drizzle. We actually made "num nom num" sounds as we ate it! And then, if that wasn't good enough, we finished the meal with a spectacular melt away sticky toffee pudding ala mode. I'm serious - if you haven't been here, go, now, immediately! It was soo good, that I know when we are back in Chicago (we live in Seattle) I will have a hard time not getting in the car and driving an hour plus just for that pizza! Well done Brewsters!

Our waitress was super nice and made us feel welcome right away. I ordered the Meatball Grinder with handmade sausage and beef meatballs, marinara, melted provolone, and a toasted hoagie roll. This sandwich was seriously delicious. The marinara was the first thing that stood out. It had a deep tomato flavor, was rich and well seasoned, and had enough garlic and herbs to give it a nice savory kick without taking over. The meatballs were tender and juicy, with a really good balance between the beef and sausage. I could taste the seasoning in the meat, and there was a little sweetness from the sausage that worked really well with the tomato sauce. The toasted hoagie had a nice crunch on the outside but stayed soft enough inside to soak up all that sauce without falling apart. It was messy, saucy, and packed with flavor.

First and foremost, incredible service. Very dog friendly and kid friendly…read more We brought our dog who is amazing at restaurants and breweries, never ever an issue. So we sat on the patio and the server brought out a big dog water bowl. Being a hot day however, my dog got over-excited and proceeded to drink nearly the entire bowl and it was full of ice so he threw right back up all the water he drank. We were so apologetic and our server was so understanding. Our server got some buckets of hot water and washed everything off the patio so everything was good as new. Thank you so much! The food was really good too - I got a burger. I know she said they smoke all their own meats so I should've gotten the pork or brisket (which my wife got and it was great), but the cherry bomb burger just sounded too good. And it was great! Loved the cherry peppers, perfectly cooked burger, well designed. Fries were cooked well too. Can't wait to go back. The only precaution I would say is: their patio sometimes gets very full of bees. So we saw a couple parties move inside to avoid the bees.
