Shoe Dept. Encore is located inside Northpark Mall…read more As we entered the store, it seemed like a ghost store. We didn't see any employees. We saw a couple trying to find shoes for their kids. Again, no employees around. The store is quite large with many selections. They sell men's, women's, and kids shoes. They also have socks, handbags, and backpacks. We had to dig to find the correct shoe size. My nephew tried the pair he wanted. He walked around to make sure it was comfortable. As we entered the checkout area to make our purchase, no one was around. We waited, looked around, and said, "hello"!!! It took a while, but a young man finally came to help us. No hello. He seemed annoyed. Overall, a great selection of shoes. In this economy, the retail space to rent has to cost some dollars. I'm very surprised they are in business with the lack of employees helping customers. I can order shoes on Amazon if this is the way the store is being run. I don't like giving bad reviews. I always give a place a chance. This one started off bad and ended with a frumpy employee. The value is not there for me to shop here, again.

Went to the counter and inform the closest two associates two aisles away that we were ready to check out. Male associate had an attitude and was not friendly to my husband who was purchasing shoes. Shoes were a good deal though.

As many other reviewers have said, this place is truly terrible. Not only are the people working…read morehere incredibly rude, they truly have no idea how to do their jobs. They buy random things that they personally think are cute and then it sits on racks or shelves foreverrrrrr. Not only that, but it takes them approximately two hours to look through a paper grocery bag full of clothes. They stand there staring open-mouthed at a counter full of T-shirts like they've never seen them before. I brought some stuff here two summers ago that was still there when I went back last week. I know they're the exact same pieces because they have a specific mark on a small tag inside. The store is always a huge, overpriced mess that's not worth it to look through. They have a "designer sunglasses" case too. Seriously, who's going to buy used sunglasses for $50? Are we insane? Just go to the thrift store. You'll find better stuff at a better deal. I honestly can't believe this location is still in business.

They do not take good quality items and make you feel awful for trying to sell something by calling it "out of style". The owner is not friendly either, I've been to the NWA location and they are much better. It trickles down and there's nothing good to say about this place.

Okay, I love TJ Maxx. First time at this particular one in Joplin. A little odd set up from what I…read moream used to. It's actually inside the Northpark Mall with an interior entrance. It is smaller than the TJ Maxx's I frequent, but still plenty of great deals and merchandise. It's currently under renovation to expand the dressing rooms. I just noticed The Body Shop products in TJ Maxx this week. I am not sure if this is new to the chain or I am just now noticing it. I am not really a Body Shop girl, but for those who are - - might be some good deals. This location seemed to have an abundance of salon quality hair products - Matrix, Rusk, Big Sexy Hair, etc. Seriously, I use to by my products from the salon (years ago)...not a chance I would do that now. No reason to waste the money when you can find them so much cheaper at places like TJ Maxx and Marshall's. I wear Saucony Oasis tennis shoes. They were over $100 when I first bought them in a running store. For months now, I have found these same Saucony's in TJ Maxx for $34.99. Oh yah!. I have them in every color. I actually had not seen them in a bit, but luck was on my side and found a great pair of purple ones. Yep, another pair of cheap Oasis added to the collection. I also love unique stationery and cards. I found the cutest box of Chihuahua greeting cards. They weren't a great "deal" (but I am tight!), but I had to have them. I regularly shop at these similar types of stores (TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Gordman's, Ross) and this location had some quality stuff from cosmetics, shoes, clothing to housewares. I am rarely in Joplin, but if I am - I would certainly take the time to return to this location.
