But can't see myself returning.

Found La Porta Restaurant & Bar on Yelp, and between the great reviews and the awesome-looking food…read morepictures, we decided this was the spot for dinner tonight. Great choice! We were staying at the DoubleTree by Hilton nearby, so the location was really convenient. La Porta is tucked right behind the Mercedes dealership, and there was plenty of parking, which is always a nice bonus. Once inside, we were greeted and seated right away. The restaurant has a modern, comfortable feel with a full bar. There was even a colorful group apparently headed to an Indian wedding, dressed in beautiful silk finery and enjoying cocktails at the bar. It added a fun splash of color and energy to the evening. The menu had plenty of tempting choices, but the three of us quickly settled on some favorites. My mother-in-law ordered the Spaghetti Bolognese, while my wife and I shared a 12" A16 Napoli pizza with pepperoni and an order of their lasagna. Everything was delicious! The pizza had a thin, nicely crisped crust with fresh mozzarella, tomato sauce, basil and plenty of pepperoni. The lasagna arrived bubbling hot in its own dish, covered in beautifully browned melted cheese and surrounded by a rich tomato sauce. My mother-in-law's Bolognese was equally well received. Portions were generous enough that we had a little left over, and you better believe it came with us. It was sooo good, there was no way we were letting it go to waste...! I kept my drink simple with pear flavored Grey Goose vodka and soda, and it was so refreshing! Our server was super sweet, funny and attentive without hovering. She stopped by regularly to refill our waters, check on the table and make sure we had everything we needed. Great service can really make a meal, and she definitely added to the experience. Good food, generous portions, friendly service, plenty of parking and a convenient location made La Porta a really enjoyable find. If I'm in the Sacramento area again, this will definitely be on the short list of places I'd happily return to. Great little find, and those leftovers aren't going to make it very long tonight...!

Terrible business practice!! Called several times at 830p and each time I was hung up on. I drove 7 min to the location and asked are they closed? The lady said yes. I asked why advertise 9p close on the website? The young man looked confused (faking) he looked at the clock (now 840) and replied well we were slow that's why. Absolutely rude and unprofessional!!! I had hopes the Newest owners would be better than the last. Not at all. This place is not recommended for the bad customer service and it's a family owned business so I'm sure the family including the two tonight don't want business after 8p bc it's "too slow". The crust is fresh, soft or taste like cardboard. The sauce is sweet and tastes hand made with real tomatoes not processed marinara. Plenty of toppings and the cheese is bomb. Better than dominoes, pizza Hut, little caesars, round table you name it. This is their extra party super size pizza lol Its 20" and was $24.60 at my door in less time than promised on a busy Friday night not only will I never order from any where else but I'm going convince every one I know to eat there as well read more

If you want good quality pizza, this is the place to be! I've had almost everything on their menu from the pizzas to their gyros! They serve both halal and non halal meats. All of my halal lovers will love this spot. The owners are beyond nice, they know me pretty well and I'm a regular here. Their slogan is "we pile it on" and they really do pile it on! Good Bargain pizza. Not very gourmet, but will do the trick in a pinch. Make sure you ask them to leave it in the oven a little longer to get the crust crispy, otherwise all you taste is dough. read more

He told me my order would be ready in 10 minutes. That's impressive considering most places make you wait 20-30 min at least. I did get here at just about 10 minutes after putting in the order and only had to wait a few minutes for them to box it up. This location is right off of Broadway so I just parked right in front. Parking can be tight, and there is probably more parking in the back. If you park on the street, just check your mirrors before opening your door. Inside the shop, it's cozy. They have 2 tables you can dine in, but taking it to go is the best bet. The shop owner and his family were here and they were having dinner. So cute and homey. I got my large pepperoni pizza and they gave me a slice of Oreo cake to try on the house. The pizza is your average pizza, but the price is worth it. It reminds me of my childhood and the pizza you get at pizza parties growing up. This large pizza will feed me for days. The Oreo cake made by the wife/owner is great. She makes the dessert in house so it's fresh and it's delicious. The flavors taste real and not processed. They also have carrot cake and fruit pastries to try. I highly recommend. Overall, great price, service, and it's a mom and pop joint. I'll order pizza from here more often. Best part is I live right down the street so it'll be a quick drive to get here.
