While I respect a contractor's right to decline a project, what I don't respect is the complete lack of communication. Had I been informed in a timely manner, I could have moved on and pursued other options instead of wasting valuable time waiting for a response. When I asked why he had not contacted me sooner, the explanation was simply that he was "busy." Good customer service starts with communication and professionalism. Unfortunately, this experience gave the impression that my time was less valuable than his. If this is how potential customers are treated before a contract is even signed, it naturally raises concerns about how projects are managed after work begins.
