I was able to park right away. The building is a shared space, so I had to ask where my docs new office was. Found it and waited several minutes. The window was closed and there was no movement behind it. I finally knocked. I was kinda treated like I wasn't expected. Even though I got 3 confirmation texts and a physical phone call. Gail , the receptionist comes hustling in at 12:55. I got the impression she didn't like being put straight to work. Also the phone was ringing. It was from a patient trying to call a physician in another office. 1:05- weight and blood pressure. Turns out I'm fat. With great blood pressure. This nurse was very nice. Doc Mendoza was finished with me before 1:30. She wants me to quit drinking. THEY ALL WANT ME TO QUIT DRINKING. Anyway- her bedside manner is pleasant. She addressed what she needed to, without being rude or condescending. As I was leaving, Gail was much more pleasant.

He told them Medicare. If doctors actually cared the first question would be what kind of problem are you experiencing? But, no, it's "what insurance do you have"? Then they asked which doctor he wanted to see. He told them one of the men I forget which one. They then told him that, sorry, only one of our doctors is accepting Medicare. Oh, that's brilliant. Why doesn't it say that on the list of insurance that you accept? Next to Medicare it should say Dr. So and so only. The rest are more concerned about their money than actually helping you which is why they don't accept Medicare because that cuts into their paycheck. Well, Medicare is all he has. He's disabled and on disability. Like millions of other people who worked all their lives this is all he has now and this place won't give him the time of day. Then they asked which medication he's already taking. He told them. They placed him on hold and came back and told him that due to the fact that he's already taking controlled substances they can't accept him as a patient. What!?! These "controlled substances" he's already taking are prescriptions from another doctor and have nothing to do with this place. He was looking for a family doctor to help him with everything else, like when he's sick, not the medicine he is already getting elsewhere for other reasons. Any medicine prescribed by a doctor is a controlled substance. That's why you have to go to a doctor to get it. So if you're seeing a separate doctor for specialized reasons but still need a family doctor for basic reasons don't bother with these money-hungry jerks. This is absolutely outrageous. None of these charlatans should be allowed to call themselves doctors. All they care about is their money, not you. If you're poor, don't have good insurance or any insurance, disabled, on Medicare, already getting medicine from another doctor, etc, don't even bother calling this place. All they care about is their money. They don't care if you die.

We are both patients at this clinic, but we use 2 different doctors. I am with Dr. Letchuman! I have found very little competent medical help in Shreveport for my medical needs. I even hate writing a negative statement as such, but folks, S'port is lacking great, cutting edge, diagnostically capable, pharmacologically thorough physicians. I have a unique background in medical that allows me to confidently make such a statement. I am literally shocked to have found such a scholarly, superbly trained physician in Shreveport. So many doctors have massive egos that are n-o-t backed by superior or even average competence, but Dr. Letchuman DOES POSSESS SUPERIOR EDUCATION, SUPERIOR BEDSIDE MANNERS, SUPERIOR ATTENTION TO DETAIL, SUPERIOR PHARMACEUTICAL KNOWLEDGE, and yet, he is so kind and so compassionate. I've been with him 6 years. I am trying to avoid a 4 level cervical spine surgical intervention with use of effective pain therapy and physical training I.e. weight training, stretching, and overall common sense. Dr. LETCHUMAN has hugely impacted my ability to live again, giving me back my life!! I am so grateful we have such a top doc in Shreveport! Thank you with all my heart, Dr. Letchuman et al!!

I had an operation performed by the neurosurgeon at The Spine Institute downstairs. So I stayed in…read morethe Specialists Hospital for one night. The hospital is very clean and very nicely decorated. The rooms are spacious enough to have a few visitors at a time. All the equipment seems fairly new and in working order. I didn't have a lot of appetite, so I didn't eat their meals, but I did look at the lunch plate, and it looked like a good meal. It was a side salad that looked nice and fresh, a piece of baked chicken, green beans, corn on the cob and 2 cookies. The staff... most everyone of the staff were very friendly and personable at first introductions. Some changed after you needed things, and some stayed extremely professional, and friendly no matter how much you called. I ended up being a high maintenance patient, and I used to be in the medical field, so I know it can be hard not to show your annoyance. Unfortunately as the night went on, I could tell the ones who were getting tired of me. I'm not going to throw any of them under the bus here, because it's not that serious... just a bit unfriendly. I want to give a special thanks to LaLena and Sholanda: LaLena (who shares my unusual name), was always friendly and caring. She talked to me and listened when I had issues. I had an IV running the whole time, so I had to use the bathroom every hour or two. I had limited mobility, and it was very painful, so also required extra assistance. Not only was she helpful, but she never made me feel like she was annoyed. She went above and beyond her job description by applying pressure to a spasm while I walked to help me move easier. It really was more than you can ask of a medical professional. Thank you! Then Sholanda was so sweet. She kept asking what I needed and kept offering suggestions. I didn't have an appetite, but I was hoping for a piece of bread just to put something on my stomach. So she went and brought me a Diet Coke and peanut butter crackers. Perfect! Then she actually cleaned off my table top. I had probably 10 different people pass in and out over the 24 hours, and she was the first person to throw away the trash. There was trash on the table since I was first admitted at lunch time, drinks, spoons, straw wrappers, etc and not a single person cleared it. They just kept piling more things on the table. The best part about her is she did it because it needed to be done... not because I asked. She never made me feel like I was bothering her. Thank you!! I would definitely stay in this hospital again if I had to. Let's just hope I never have to again. :)

I understand this, however, a steroid shot will give you a boost to give your body a chance to heal itself. I decided to go to UrgentCare of Louisiana one week after I became ill and 4 days of laringitus and just not feeling better. Dr. Anisha Turner is the BEST! She took tests and found I had Strep Throat. Not only did she give me a steroid shot, she prescribed me FIVE other meds that kicked in immediately and by that night I was 50% better and the next day I was 80% back to my healthy self. THANK YOU DR. TURNER! RECOMMEND HIGHLY!!!!! Great staff, treated with respect and clean facility!

She doesn't like or trust her current cardiologist, so wanted to see Dr Fillecia, who has been cardiologist for me and my father before. The whole point was to get her a new cardiologist. They tried to get her to see a different cardiologist there, but she would have a hard time trusting another unknown cardiologist. I will not go back to ACS and will never recommend them to anyone again. I will advise they avoid ACS at all costs.
