It was karaoke night and just about a dozen regulars hanging out. I was taken aback when we first approached the place, people were smoking in there. But I'm glad we decided to go in. There was only 1 person working and she was a great sport about it! Friendly and inviting. She took our orders and then cooked our food while also tending bar! The menu (see pic) is one sample of how they have themed the place. The items themselves have a touch of humor, with a Tuscan Chicken Penne Pasta call Pasta La Vista and a sandwich called a Motley Creuben. Love the sandwich sign coming in, which had a pie chart of whether you should come in and have a beer, with choice being "yes" and "yes in blue" (pictured) and the other side distinguishing between fun and real life. In some ways, this is more of a taproom than a brewery, as they have their own beers, but also carry many from otehr breweries and cideries around the state. I grabbed the California Dreamin' and she got the Cod Smacked, albeit on a bun and not on Rye. I am not a huge fan of fried fish, so I was not uber thrilled about her sandwich, although I did find the fish well cooked and the haus bier batter was nice. My club was right on point. I am also not one with heavily seasoned fries, but I will say the seasoning here is not offensive (and thank god no potato flakes, which seems to be very popular these days. The beer is in the average/above average tier when compared to craft breweries. This means far better than Bud (with apologies to those who can stomach Bud on a regular basis - I am not worthy). ds

The laughter is beckoning. We had to break down and join in the conversation. When you go in it's a place to order and relax. You are greeted at the counter. Then sit wherever you want. It's pub style dining. Nice loud music and vibes. They have a full bar area if you want to pull up a chair . The tables are comfy. They have outdoor tables and chairs. Anyway you could have it is just fun. The good thing about the menu no matter what you order it's good. The cheeseburgers, divine. How about a chance with a chicken quesadilla with all the fixings. The quesadilla is not fried either it's baked. Make sure and go up stairs to the Monroe Room and see some historical evidence of Jeff. As a huge sour fan, I always try the latest sour, but they have things for everyone (including hard seltzer and hard tea!). Second, the food is usually good, not great, but good. That said, the quality isn't always consistent. If something is really bad, do speak up. The runny tacos, for us, isn't worth complaining about, but it is a thing. Seating was available inside and out - accessible seating for those in a wheelchair would be difficult indoors due to limited space - tables are very close together. We elected to sit indoors due to the heat and had no trouble finding an available table. Our server was Greg and while the restaurant was not crowded - he was covering table tables both inside and out - which meant he would disappear for long periods of time. While he did his best to cover everyone appropriately, I believe the manager should reevaluate table coverage for a superior dining experience. The menu provides ample selection of items to order. I would highly recommend the large pretzel as an appetizer. We ordered the Cuban sandwich with potato salad and a chicken sandwich with waffle fries. I mentioned to Greg that I was lactose intolerant and he was able to accommodate by ensuring he would mention to the chef that no diary should be used in preparation. Both sandwiches arrived with no issues - with the only complaint being that the potato salad was very bland. Other than that, all went well. Overall, the food was good - fairly straightforward bar food. During peak times - seating will be limited, possibly non-existent. If you try Pearl Street Taphouse go during off-peak hours for the best service and seating options.
