AVOID, AVOID, AVOID these people! Rude, aggressive and patronising are just a few words to describe…read morethem. I viewed one of their cars in November 2015 and they didn't like being asked questions at all. I simply asked standard questions i.e. if the car I was interested in had been HPI checked and was abruptly told yes all their cars are HPI checked, however because of the shifty and quite frankly rude attitude when speaking to them I felt something wasn't right (the car had already been there for many months without being reduced) so I asked a mechanic to look at the car for me and he believed the car to have previously had considerable front end damage so maybe not HPI checked after all? Also see snippet below from an article in Birmingham Evening Mail in 1999. Needless to say I didn't buy this car and it is still sat on their forecourt for some unsuspecting person to buy. They obviously think the consumer to be stupid. "MOTOR traders throughout Worcestershire have been warned by Trading Standards officials that they will not hesitate to take action against those who act irresponsibly. The warnings follow two motor traders being each fined pounds 4,000 by Worcester Magistrates Court for selling a wrongly described Golf. Worcestershire County Council's Trading Standards Service brought the prosecution against Adam Wise (32), and David Preston (30), trading together as Barclay Motor Company at Bridge Garage, Hopwood, under the Trade Descriptions Act of 1968. Operations Manager Steve Birch said that the vehicle had been advertised as a 37,000 mile car with a full service history and a 170 bhp engine when none of the claims were correct."

Sadly I am now no longer able to deal directly Volkswizard and it's owner Andrew Chapple. This is…read moreonly by reason of where I now live in North Wales. I only purchased two cars off Andrew but that does not restrain me from speaking as I found. He is a consumate professional and yet maintains a GENUINE courteous attitude towards his customers. The first car I bought was a Mk3 16valve Anniversary GTi. It was immaculate needing only the slightest cosmetic attention from someone as fastidious as me. The car was perfect and was still in excellent condition when I sold it back to Andrew for a VW Passat TDi Sport. I was moving to Wales and needed a load lugger of a car. I would normally have never gone near a car with 127k on the clock, but this was Volkswizard I was dealing with and knew that I could trust Andrew's judgement implicitly. The move to Wales behind me now, and another 27k on the clock, the car has never missed a beat. Can I recommend Volkswizard? Indeed I can, wholeheartedly. You may pay a littlle more than you would like but you DO get what you pay for and that is quality.

Sadly it seems standards have dropped. I was due to buy a car from Andrew (aka Volkswizard) and…read morethings were running smoothly with him seemingly offering a very good service including putting a fresh mot on the vehicle at my expense. However at this point an advisory was flagged by the tester that one tyre was just legal. I suggested I'd cover the cost of the tyre (although you'd perhaps expect a dealer to provide a car above the bare legal standard) but asked what he thought about covering the cost of the MOT ( I was still prepared to pay for it but wondered if a goodwill gesture might be made). At this point it seems he had a tantrum and sent me a petulant email asking how I wanted my deposit refunding! I then emailed him to say no problem I'll pay the full asking price, pay for the MOT, cover the cost of the new tyres and collect the following day. Sadly Andrew decided that it was his ball and he was taking it home, so there! and refused to sell me the vehicle. A very odd way to do business considering he was now down 50 pounds for the MOT and still lumbered with the vehicle that had been lingering on his forecourt for quite some time. I suspect this may have been done to inconvenience me in 'revenge' for daring to ask for a small gesture of goodwill (I was coming from Europe to purchase the car). As it happens he did me a big favour as I've sourced a better, lower mileage vehicle from a franchised dealer for similar cost. It also has 4 tyres that are well above the legal minimum. So to summarise- the cars themselves look pretty good. However whatever you do don't irritate Andrew because it seems he's somewhat highly strung and he'll throw his toys out of the pram. edit to add: I merely suggested he might like to pay the MOT and what he thought of that. I'd have expected a reasonable person to say 'No thanks' and then continue with the deal. In this case though it appears email communication failed miserably on both sides. In response to Andrew's comments below I have amended my rating of his business.
