Me, my mom, and 2 sisters, visited Hub City Tatoo, to get a mother and daughters tatoo. It was a big deal because this was my mom's 1st tatoo (she's 60), and we thought of a design that spoke to all 4 of us. Upon entering the shop, it was clean, well organized, and the young man at the front desk was welcoming. The artist we originally wanted was unavailable, she we were told that the artist, Tatter Tot, could perform our tatoo. The tatoo was of a branch with 4 birds on it. The birds had some very minor detailing, and the entire tatoo was pretty small, about 3.5-4in long and about 1 in height. We were each changed the shop minimum. $400, and the work for all 4 of us took about 1 hour. We all thought that was steep because most shop minimums are about $65, but this was sentimental, so we did it. Tatter Tot had a gentle hand, which I appreciated because it was my mom's 1st tatoo and I haven't had one in almost 20 yrs. She was amenable to taking mini pauses, when I became uncomfortable. So I'm appreciative of that. When everyone was done, we all took pics and went about our merry way. 2 hours later while washing the tatoo as instructed, we noticed several inconsistencies in the tatoo that over all, and my youngest sisters tatoo was partially incomplete. In my opinion, Tatter Tot, was in a rush by time she got around to my sister's tatoo, which is what led to the lack of attention to detain, even though all of our tatoos took about 1 hr to complete. I immediately called the shop but no one answered, and I drove to the shop but no one was there even though the door said it was opened until 10 on Saturdays. I left a message on Tatter Tots IG page, as this or the shop phone, was how I was instructed to get in contact with her. I received a response 6 days later. I called the shop on Mon and Tues, numerous times but no one answered. Upon receiving a response from Tatter Tot, she apologized and offered a free touch up. I advised her that my family lives in Missouri, wouldn't be back in the foreseeable future, and that she would probably pay someone to fix it by then. At this point I requested a partial refund, and was denied. I advised her that I would leave an honest review, so here we are. As a side note: When I told her that I would leave a review, I feel like her response was flippant, but I let it go because much can be misconstrued in a text message. If more artists were required to give refunds, I feel they would have more attention to detail. No one wants to over pay for a tatoo, then find mistakes, and then be denied restitution. I may use the shop again, but a different artist, which I was originally referred to. Although we initially had a great experience, it is over shadowed by the end result, and my sister was very sad that this experience was dampened.

After looking on yelp for places we stopped at Sail Away second and we immediately felt comfortable. We were introduced to Joe and liked him. Even though he's a Raiders fan! Told him what my husband wanted and made an appointment (for a Sunday a normal closed day) made our deposit and left. My husband sent him a cute little mermaid tattoo I wanted but with a few changes.
