Recently a few days before my appointment I was having severe pain in my right hip and leg. He assessed my situation and said it appeared to probably be a sciatic pain. During my massage he spent additional effort to this new problem area and continued therapy to my chronic issues. After the appointment, my pain was greatly relieved and I was able to walk normally. I had limped in before my appointment. I highly recommend Michael for his attention to my issues when necessary and for providing a thoroughly realxing experience. I have monthly scheduled appointments that I look forward to.very much. He also sents out regular emails about any openings he may have in his achedule for that week. This is very helpful if some new issue arises or if the week has been especially stressful.

When I first went to her for a pre-natal massage, this was a huge deal to me and has been ever since. The owner's listening and communication skills far exceeded my expectations to focus the massage in the most needed places and with the right pressure. The environment of the room was incredibly relaxing, and I honestly felt right at home with the set-up of everything I needed. I highly recommend The Uncommon Massage as the best massage practice in Baton Rouge and am so excited to hear the hours have opened up to fulltime, so I can go there more frequently. I had a really great experience here, especially with how everything was handled. This massage was…read moreactually a gift from my boyfriend. I have back pain that is so bad that some days I can barley walk. But since I don't get massages often (this was only my second one ever), I didn't do the best job communicating exactly what I needed at first. After my initial one-hour session, I realized my main problem area (my lower back) didn't get as much attention as I needed. My boyfriend called on my behalf to ask (very politely) if there was any way I could come back in, and she was incredibly kind and accommodating. She had me simply pay the difference to extend the session. During the extended time, we spoke about the areas that have been causing me ongoing pain. She was very intuitive and able to find the problem spots without me having to over-explain, which made a huge difference. I'm only 27 and very active but been dealing with chronic lower back pain for a long time, and it affects my daily life a lot. Being able to finally get some real relief meant so much it literally makes me emotional talking about it haha. I really appreciated not just her skill, but also her professionalism and kindness in how she handled everything. I'll definitely be coming back and would recommend her to anyone dealing with similar issues.

I know pain medication for many is a critical part of their doctor prescribed treatment plan and I don't fault anyone for making the decision to use it. For me though even after my surgery I've always chosen and had success with other mechanisms to manage my pain including stretching, acupuncture, chiropractic, and massage which has always been my go to solution. I've literally had hundreds of massages over the years of almost every variety...except for Ashiatsu. I found Acadian Massage while on a recent visit to Baton Rouge from Austin, Texas and after describing to Mandy the combination of physical conditions I was dealing with she explained and then recommended Ashiatsu (a barefoot massage technique). It was without question the most amazing massage I've ever had!!! Beyond being one of the nicest people you'll ever meet Mandy is an extremely talented therapist that I would highly recommend. I always look forward to visiting Baton Rouge for LSU football and great food, but every single visit I make from now on will also include an appointment with Mandy at Acadian Massage.
