This gym has really gone downhill. My main concerns are the outdated and poorly maintained…read moreequipment. The stairmasters have been out of order and bounce back in resistance while you're using them, which throws off your balance and makes them unsafe/unusable. We only have two stairmasters to begin with, and both have been down--more working ones are badly needed. The spin class seats are rock-hard and leave you bruised the next day. The water fountains and pretty much everything else feel outdated. Instead of fixing the machines, they prioritized painting the locker room walls--paint that chipped almost right away--then kept painting other areas while equipment sat broken. They recently started re-padding the leather on some machines, but the job looks terrible: full of wrinkles, mismatched colors (old maroon on some machines, black on others), and cheap-looking backboards. Nothing about the upgrades feels done well. On top of all that, they raised the rates when nothing has actually improved. Wall paint should not be the priority when the machines need real upgrades, especially if prices are going up. So many things need attention here, and right now it just doesn't feel worth the increase.

The staff usually seems surprised when it is pointed out that the machines are broken. Or they will say "we are waiting for a repairman" to fix the machines. Repairs shouldn't take weeks/months. Today I was told that none of the stairmill tvs (5 of 6 have been broken for months) will be fixed until sometime "before the end of the year when the equipment is upgraded".

I heard back not long after writing and spoke with David, who was both courteous and understanding. He answered my questions and made a time to speak with me in person. When I went in, I also met with Tyler, who was at the front desk. He was very kind and knowledgeable and was able to help us sign up. He also helped up set up some training sessions for our son. My son enjoyed his training session and this is what he had to say about the personal training session with Tyler: "It was fun. My favorite part was using the treadmill. I got a good workout"- J.C. My family and I look forward to using the facilities more regularly and getting back into shape after years of not doing so. It is a wonderful feeling to join and not feel overwhelmed or judged. I enjoyed all the ones I tried and found every teacher at Rainbow Yoga to be warmly welcoming, accommodating, and clear in their instructions. For those looking to deeply relax their body or who have limiting injuries, I highly recommend Marina's Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® (ATM) and Marianne's Candlelight Restorative Yoga. Marina brings years of expertise in empowering the body to heal through the gentlest of realignment positions and movement. The class offers an enlightening paradigm shift to less being more. Marianne's presence is pure calm nurture as she gently guides you through a candlelit unwinding process anyone can do. Alice Neiler brings an eclectic power basket of tools to her QiGong class that centers, calms, and strengthens with movements that I, in my limited range of motion, could easily do. I always left her class feeling my best self, a better self than the one that started. For those who can cope with floor poses, Toni's chakra classes are wonderful for reinhabiting the body fully and feeling empowered through alignment of the energy centers. She brings a lush, womanly, spiritual energy to her soothing instruction. Susan von Reusner brings the insight of mindfulness to working with the body, the mind, and breath, informed by her own background in sports and experience with injury, creating an accommodating dialogue of respect and gentleness. Her instructions are clear and intelligent. It was a pleasure to try these classes and to meet these lovely teachers. I recommend them all.
