I hate to say it but this branch of the Village Hotel, isn't the nicest hotels available in the…read moreManchester area, even being beaten on some levels by certain branches of Premier Inn, and Crowne Plaza with similar / cheaper prices and in better locations for the city center, I used to like this hotel being a regular here for their branch of Starbucks, but recently not only has the hotel gone downhill, but the bar and Starbucks has too, I've never actually stayed here considering I live right round the corner but still have been here a number of times to write an in depth review. This hotel is quite a big building, and seems quite old fashioned especially when compared to other branches of the Village I've visited, such as the next one nearest to here, just off the M60 in Ashton, which is an impressive, large black building with the car park and enterence on one floor, in a better location near a small retail park such as Prezzo and Mcdonald's. This branch of the Village has a few dozen steps to get too, their also is a small lift tucked into the corner which doesn't seem really nice, there is a buzzer for the gate and the lift button, so in a way it feels like a lift in the house or some sort of illegal building, the lift was really small. it wasn't very nice and smelt funny. The staff here seem okay, but they don't stand out. Inside the hotel, there is nice facilities such as a big swimming pool, and what I guess is a gym but it doesn't seem very nice either, being really dark, it is quite big but it just doesn't seem a really nice place, which is a shame as it just seems to be following its' branch of Starbucks Coffee in going downhill, making a once nice hotel which used to be the stepping stone of standards the brands should follow, but be an example of what a branch shouldn't do.

The night had many twists and turns and lots of unforgettable memories.

We stayed here for one night. We were surprised that the hotel was really like its new Best Western…read morename: Bolholt Country Park Hotel. The grounds were nice and quiet even though it was quite busy for the weekend. Our room was situated in a building that was not in the same one as the modern reception. The hotel also consisted of the Stables Leisure Club, which was annoyingly also in a separate building, accessible via the outside of the reception, through the car park. The good points are that the staff were great. Good local knowledge and very friendly and efficient at dealing with many people checking out at the same time. The room was spacious and the grounds were well maintained and quiet, desire it being quite old. The bar area was a nice spot for relaxing. They also have a restaurant but we did not try it as the menu looked quite pricey (£15 for a main course). I'd recommend it if you're needing a place that's great value in North Manchester.

This is a wonderful "resort"...not actually a hotel...much better. The buildings are old England…read morewith steam heat and the walls are thin. But, what a wonderful stay we had. The buildings are very pretty, there is a health club named "Stables"...and the logo is the bust of a horse...naturally I thought this was an actual stable and maybe we could rid horses...LOL...was I ever surprised. The staff was wonderful...the restaurant breakfast was "perfect"....Sunday was the buffet and what a selection. Monday was menu, but seemed to have everything that was on the buffet. The sausage was great...the bacon, well bacon in the UK is different than in the USA...these were like little ham's and WOW they were tasty. Poached eggs on toast were flawless. We would welcome the opportunity to stay here again....I am certain you will also.

My room was luckily overlooking the river and I got a fantastic view of the sunset and spinningfields. The dining area was right next to the river and was awesome ... The all you can eat breakfasts that premier inn offer are the best I have had. It is all within 5 minutes walk from spinningfields and Salford central train station and with road links very close by. 5 minutes walk to Deansgate and thus the shopping and other great features Manchester has to offer. I need to stay here again very soon.

The best thing about this hotel was the breakfast in the morning, normally its a buffet but due to…read morecovid restrictions its table service only. I placed my order and about ten minutes later it arrived, freshly cooked, piping hot and beautifully laid out in the plate; all for 8.99. The room had a reasonable size TV and free wifi is an essential these days. They have an arrangement with the NCP car park round the corner for discounted rates. The staff were very helpful, in the evening I needed directions to get to This and That (you can read my review here on Yelp) and the lady printed out a map for me to follow. The duty manager in the morning ensured a smooth checkout and served the aforementioned breakfast beautifully. The only thing I would improve is to empower the staff more like in the best hotels, when I arrived after a long drive from London there was a problem with my reservation so I was hanging around in the lobby for half an hour while this was sorted when all I wanted to do was freshen up. When this has happened to me previously receptionists have said just go up to the room and relax while we get this sorted.
